Hi, I have just installed this update by Creative Cloud: But this nice blue window appears after the first start of ID:  Maybe blue text on blue background...? Any ideas what this could be?

HiI am new to epub thing. I have a sample document. I need an epub. The epub will be viewed on PC, Tablet, mobile phone. I tried making an epub from Indesign (reflowable and fixed) and it has gone haywire. I am reading it in PC using Aquile reader.As I am new to epub, I dont know what am I doing wrong. I have attached idml, PDF, and both epubs. Actual document is much more complex with lots of images and headings, sub-headings. Please suggestion where and how to start.Thanks

I'm having the worst time with InDesign and the Share for Review feature. I've had it crash mutiple times while tryig to update the link - and it won't update the existing link. So I have to resave the InDesign file and create a new Share for Review link. All this is causing my team to be confused with the lastest link to use.  Now, none of the comments are being displayed. I'm just met with "We can’t load comments right now." Broswer doesn't seem to matter (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). And yes, I have cleared my cache. InDesign is update to date (version 19.1).  Any thoughts - better, solutions, to this? 

Hi community. I've been trying to export an Indesign file into a PDF but everytime, some text happens to turn into outlined text. I really need to keep it as live text so I can select it later when opening the file on Adobe Reader. Do any of you guys know the right preset to do this or has any tip?

Hi, Can anyone please help with a spell check issue? We use InDesign 2023 with Windows 10 at work and have noticed that the InDesign spell check and dynamic spelling functions have not been working for some months. I have checked the preferences in Dictionary>Spelling are set to Hunspell, and have also tried resetting the language preference folder but nothing is working. It is a real issue now as we work on long documents in short time frames. If anyone can please help, that would be great! 

I have over 250x + documents that need to be converted into US Letter size. I know how to do this with Alternate Layout, but this requires each and every file opening and saving.Is there a script out there that allows me to make this one single change to every document without needing to open every file?

Hi,I try to put data from a csv file into my document. I tried every encoding (Win 1252, ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-15, UTF-8) for my csv file but the German special characters like ä, ö or ü are never displayed properly in preview mode. I am using SublimeText v3 to change the encoding of my csv file.And in addition, InDesign crashes whenever I execute the data merge.I am working with the latest InDesign CC on a MacBook Pro 15', Mid 2014 on MacOS HighSierra 10.13.1 for the German language.Looking forward to your experiences or feedback.Kind regards,Mirco

Hi AllI seem to be having issues with my links window in InDesign. I can't seem to scroll all the way to the bottom of the window and the bottom navigation panel is transparent and overlaps the content. Anyone having same issues?

Hi,I am having probelms data merging multiple records per page. I will attach pics of the files.My TXT. file doesn't have " " inverted commas; does this matter?I have saved Excel file as Tab-delimted Text file (TXT). See attached files. But Indesign is not reading my Days fields (i.e. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc) properly, as well as my Dates of the week.  When I go to create merged documnet I am stopped by error message, "Cannot Create Merged Document Because no placeholders are present." (see attached). What have I done wrong here? And is there a way to insert multiple TXT. files into the one Indesign document as I have multiple Master pages with Multiple placeholder text. Or should I just create a new Indesign doc for each Master page and corresponding TXT date merge file? Thanks so much!

Is there any script to center but also right-aligned text/numbers inside every cell in every table?so that the output on every table looks like this. I'm working on a template file that contains about 200 tables, but unfortunately it's bit of a mess. Thank you in advance  

I'm working on a file in Indesign, but everytime I try to change the color of text with the color picker tool, the color panel freezes and eventually indesign crashes. I've already reinstalled InDesign and the Creative Cloud program. Is there someone with a solution? I never had this problem before so should I install an older version? I'm on mac os (M1): 13.0 with indesign 18.2.1

Is there a way to search the links panel? I have hundreds of images and I need to be ablbe to locate them quickly using the filename. A search box at the top would be a great thing. 

Finalizing a layout and though we have looked at this many times for spelling and grammatical errors, I still prefer to run "Check Spelling" as a option before going to print. However, nothing is happening at all. I have looked at everything under the sun online and have found zero answers that will fix this issue. Currently using a Mac (OS Sonoma 14.5) with the latest verison of InDesign (v. 19.5). Attached are the images of my preferences (spelling and dictonary) as well as the Check Spelling window. I'll hit "Start" and nothing happens. I even intentionally misspelled something to see if it would work. Nothing.  EDIT: Please note that I removed version 19.5 and reinstalled the previous version (19.4). Spell check works totally fine with this verison. Additionally, I had a coworker check their InDesign v. 19.5 (Windows based) and the spell check worked fine for him. So this is Mac specific. If there's a solution that I have missed, please share it as time is a fac

I have a 300-page file of mostly text that gets revised and updated every few years. Sometimes I need to copy text out of the file and into a new document. I am having trouble that InDesign does weird things with the text styles when I copy it. Sometimes the text appears the same as the orginal, but it has style overrides on that should not be there. I don't want to clear all overrides, becasue there are places that overrides are needed. Here is what I have tried so far:Checked that all the styles are based on "no paragraph style." (They are now, but they weren't originally.)Checked the "basic paragraph style" for anything strange. (It was set to a font that no longer existed. I updated it to the same as my current standard. This seems significant, because the one override is that the font style is set to "Roman," which is what that old font called for, but which is not available for most fonts.)Did a find and replace in the copied text to replace "Roman" style with "Regular." Ok, the question, I have a novel manuscript that was set in the UK.  It uses ' quotes instead of " quotes in it. Is there an easy way of changing them but not changing the contraction quotes??   can't should stay and not change to can"t when using the find/replace. Any insight would be amazing.

I'm looking for a script or some way to easily assign different paragraph styles to hundreds of text boxes inside a document all based on the format of the text. All of the text is identical in format, but on different pages. Obviously, I could just go and create styles based on the first page's text and then go and assign it on each subsequent page, but that is hundreds of pages and I'd like to avoid that if I can.  The backstory: I have a designer who reports to me that is unfamiliar with Paragraph styles, but they just completed a document that I would like to make more evergreen. They ran a data merge, but didn't assign any styles prior to creating the merged document and then had hours of work afterwards adjusting graphics on each page. All of the text is the same and based on the initial text box, so is there a faster way than going through one by one to assign styles to all of the pages? Hi, 1.[Screenshots 1 and 2]I was uploading Fixed-Layout EPUBs on Apple Books.One was failure and the other was success.The cause of the failure was the file size of the in-book Cover. To upload EPUB on Apple Books, there is a limit to the image file, which is 10 MB per XHTML.The in-book Covers of two EPUBs are below 10 MB.  2.In Fixed-Layout EPUB, there is no XHTML for Cover (Screenshots 3 and 4).Is it associated with the failure in uploading EPUB on Apple Books? I could upload the EPUB, after reducing the file size of the in-book Cover. Hosun  

I'm working on four volumes of poetry and it's already been a nightmare, but we're so close to the finish line. I've created a simple file in ID and am exporting it to epub, focusing on Kindle and Apple Books use. With Books, the export is perfect; the footnotes are popping up just as they should be. When I open in Kindle, there are footnotes AND endnotes; meaning the footnotes pop up as they should, but they're also at the end of the section (the books are divided into three sections). I read something in another forum about uni-directional endnotes, but I have no idea how to even approach that. Please see the images below, though I'm not sure they show much. Thank you in advance!
