Hello everyone, I need to bold part numbers within a product listing. The supplied file has a tab at the start and then the part number and then an additional tab. The file also has additional columns/tabs so I need the GREP to only look at the first and second tab and bold everything between those. Their part numbers are not consistent in character count and can include letters, numbers, spaces and dashes. I am trying to get into this world of GREP but I need help. Thank you.

Hi, We have a use case where we download assets in AEM which would contain some renditions. These are downloaded as zip files but when we try to unzip using Mac Archive Utility they wouldn't open rather we have to use some third party applications to unzip. What complicates it is that not all zip files open using the same third party unzip application. We observed that we are seeing this issue only when the file type is .idml and wondersing if there is a work around to unzip .idml files using Mac archive utility. Thanks! 

I truly have no idea what I did. I was having a problem with indesign crashing everytime I tried to add a page to my spread, so I saved it as IDML. I forgot to rename it, but when I opened it, this happened and it is on the entire pasteboard/every page in the file. Please help, freaking out a bit! I am a self taught Indd. user, but this is for my job. Thanks!  

Is it possible to create a cross reference to take users to another page, and select an option from there to fill out the form? For example, we need users to select a siding type (horizontal vinyl, board and batten, architectural shakes) when they select one the hyperlink would take them to the page where the sample colors are listed. When they would pick one it would return them to the main page to keep filling out the form?

Hello all,I have changed the language of all the styles of my indesign document, but the red underligning still shows as previously. I have discovered I need to cut/paste the text for the grammar checker to recalculate for the new language: is there a way to do this "updating" automatically instead of doing it for every single text zone?Thanks!

Buenas, ¿cómo puedo automatizar en Indesign 2024, que la última línea de un párrafo no sea una línea corta, con corta me refiero a que no quede una sola palabra… en edición profesional, la útlima línea de un párrafo debe tener como mínimo el mismo espacio que el margen… Adjunto imagen. Gracias

I am posting this bug report here, as well as at the Uservoice, because I'm hoping that people can discover it here and upvote it at the Uservoice.   https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/48650594-button-value   I'm elbows-deep in a major 25-langauge localization project, and I've found a bug where anything outside of ASCII in a "button value" fails to export to interactive PDF. Since it's a long & complicated form, I'm hoping to avoid being stuck with post-export remediation of the incomplete PDF.    If I set the Button Value in the Buttons and Forms panel: and export to Interactive PDF, then the Button Value drops any character outside of ASCII: Note that the Vietnamese has lost half its glyphs, and the Russian is gone entirely.       

whenever i create a new document, there are these green squares on the page. they are not guides, neither are they defined somewhere else in indesign. somehow, they are visually interfering when doing graphics or layout as there are guidelines and baseline grids, which i use more. is there a way to hide theese green squares and what are they even called? going to preview mode is not an option as it does not show margins and baseline grids.

Hi There! I'm wondering if anyone can help  - I'm trying to use a grep code to format the running foot text for a book I'm working on. The running foot text would have a movie title and year in parentheses, ideally looking like "Psycho (1960)". As of now, I have a paragraph style for the RF text set to italics, and I'm hoping to create a rule so the text within the parentheses could have a character style, keeping them roman.  I've tried a couple different grep codes I found on similar boards, as well as selecting my own rules using drop-down menu options, coming out to:Apply Style: RF rom (year)To Text: "\(\d+\)". But nothing seems to make a difference.I'm wondering if anyone can help, thank you!

Hey all, I received a package 10 days ago and everything worked perfectly: the fonts downloaded automatically and the images were all linked correctly.I've opened the file today after I hadn't touched anything in the package and it seems to be broken: it can't find the fonts and the images seem to be corrupted.Is this a known issue? and if so, do you have any advice on how to solve it?Thank you very much!

Hello, I have put sound buttons on my PDF on each page. These sound buttons were in indesign app. When I want to export this file as an interactive PDF, I get an error "this file contains media and buttons with playback control actions, which may not work in interactive PDF." And after that "one or more interactive elements are rotated or sheared in ways that PDF files cannot reproduce. Those elements will be adjusted in the exported PDF." in the exported file there are buttons there, and they are working well as a button, but when I click on them, there is no sound playing. I mean there is a button, but there is no song and action.what should I do to have my final interactive PDF with my sound button working? I do not want to do publish online because I want the PDF form.

Can I open a QuarkXPress file created on a Mac in my InDesign on my PC?

I have a document with numerous text anchors for use as cross-references. I know they're there because the light blue colon shows up when I'm viewing all characters. But when I go to select the cross-reference I want, what I think is the correct text anchor isn't, and creating it as a reference and then clicking Go to Destination takes me to a different one. I'd rather not delete the mystery ones, since they're already used elsewhere in the document and I don't want to have to redo all of them. Is there a way to highlight or select the text anchor and find out what its name is, or rename it? Selecting Hyperlink Destination Options gives me a list of names, but doesn't tell me anything about where they are in the document.

I am currently using Adobe Master Collection CS6, which functions perfectly on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.I have installed Adobe Master Collection CS6 on two laptops: The first laptop was running Windows 10, and I successfully installed Adobe Master Collection CS6. After several months, I received an update from Microsoft to upgrade to Windows 11. I performed the upgrade, and Adobe Master Collection CS6 continued to work flawlessly. Yesterday, I installed Adobe Master Collection CS6 on a new Huawei laptop running Windows 11. The installation proceeded smoothly until I launched the first application. I received the following message: "Update your browserTo use Adobe services, please update your Adobe applications, operating system, and browser to the latest versions." As a result, I am now only able to use Adobe Master Collection CS6 for seven days.I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue.Thank you in advance. 

Hi there, as you can see on the attached file, my numbers on page spread are reversed on Indesign. 3-2 / 5-4 / etc..Very annoying.Please, help me to fix them to make them in order.

Hello everyone, Because of my job, I need to download InDesign 2020 on my pc (Windows 11). Does any of you know if I can do this and how? It seems that you can download only the previous version of the current one, but I really need the 2020. Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this extra single right hand side page at the top of this document? When I managed to do it, it messed up other pages below, (leaving page 19 on it's own when it should be right next to page 18). I am uploading screenshots in case it helps.Fist upload is what i need to remove (because indesign saves that one page in the middle, see 2nd upload). Second upload is how Indesign saves the document, and 3rd upload is of lower down, with page 19 being shunted on it's own. 4th upload is what Amazon does with the document.I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have played with the allowing of pages to shuffle...I have added extra pages to see if that helps... at one point I managed to have it gone (but then it started on the left when I thought it should start on the right). Ideally I need it to look like it looks, but without the top right single page.   I may not be able to answer now till tomorrow afternoon after work, so I thank

I've tried a few different files, both large and small and everytime I try to package them it gets stuck in "Creating PDF and IDML". It was working fine and suddenly it kept getting stuck with all my files, even after I restarted the program and my computer. What can I do to get it working again?
