I'd like to deliver a copy of my InDesign file to someone, but without the linked images.Is there a way to break the links to all the images, but still keep the image frame, in such a way that the images could be re-linked later?

Every time I go to File > Print Booklet, the end result cuts off the top 3mm of bleed, despite me setting the bleed for all pages the same. For example, a 99mm x 210mm booklet with 3mm bleed will have a sheet size of 204mm x 216mm and even though the bleed is set to 3mm all around, I get a white gap at the top of every page each time like the attached.I've installed the Adobe 9.0 to fix on the recent update so I'm confident it isn't this.

Hi, I have some InDesign Extension ZXP install files, which were signed by a code signing cert from DigiCert, which is just now expiriaing. I signed with this parameter in the "ZXPSignCmd.exe" command-tsa http://timestamp.digicert.com In theory, I understand that the ZXP file will always be installable into the future (assuming the cert was valid on the day in which the ZXP was originally created). But has anyone actually tested this theory? In the past, this did not work for us. Does anyone have any experience with this that they could share, please? TIA,msl58

Are the font provided on the adobe server(as third party) and it will be hosted similar to a web server?Or will the font embedded as in a PDF-File? Hello, I was wondering what would be the best way to create a keword based table of contents or index including headings with page numbers, like so: KEYWORD1  PageNo  Heading on that page  PageNo  Heading on that page  PageNo  Heading on that pageKEYWORD2  PageNo  Heading on that page  PageNo  Heading on that page  PageNo  Heading on that page And so on. Please note I don't want index letters (A, B, C...) at all, just styled keywords/topics BUT I need page heading included with a page number underneath. Is this possible using InDesign's tools or is this a job for a script (which might already exist somewhere)? Thank you.

Need help,Using ID to generate QR codes for email. What is the separator for multiple emails in the 'Generate QR Code' function? I've tried comma and semi colon with and without spaces. Not working, only launches 1st email. Tested with both iPhone and Samsung products.

I have a sidebar box set to two columns, with labels over two sections set to span the two columns. I've applied column rules between the two columns. What I can't figure out how to do: Shorten the column rule in the top section to the exact depth of the type in that section. As you can see in the screengrab, the rule works nicely in the bottom section but the top one extends beyond the guide showing the descender mark. Any way to fix this? I've tried adjusting and turning off Space Above and Below, the leading, and the controls in the Text Options dialogue box itself, but I'm missing something.

Hey all. Bit of a display query. For my sins I've reverted back to PC after using a Mac for a few years. As I've made this switch a few times over the years I know there's no difference in functionality but I am stumped with display settings. In InDesign I have a spread that on my Mac I'd be happy to design with the spread in the window, but on my PC it's really low quality, even when on High Quality Display. The text is also quite jagged, suggesting a greek text issue, but doesn't explain the poor image quality. When zoomed out, the quality is almost as if it's on typical display. When I zoom in, everything is perfect. Is there a setting I need to change, this simple issue has slowed me right down today :D. Hello everyone, I'm encountering an issue with InDesign 2024.I am using the font "Josefin Sans" on these texts : They randomly look like having different weights but everything is in "regular". How is that possible?I only have this problem with this font.

I thought there was a setting that allowed, for example, a three-page spread to automatically adjust if a middle page was adjusted in width.   That is, typical 3-page book cover layout, adjust spine width using Page tool, RH/front cover page automatically snaps to new position.   Can't seem to find the right combination of spread settings for this...

I'm using MacOS Monterey 12.7.5 and newest version of InDesign (checked for updates), restarted everything multiple times, and still - whenever I save a file in InDesign, I get the message "InDesign is unable to save this file. We tried, but it appears to be damaged." This happens even with brand new files, I've created a few new ones to test it and dropped in a square or a photo or a line of text, and I get the error message every time. Someone said that having the "selection" tool versus the direction selection tool clicked would let it save, but that worked once and doesn't any more. Any one know what I can do?! I've updated things and restarted as much as I can and I'm at my wits end, and afraid I won't be able to finish this client file.

Hi, friends! Today is that day when I come here once again asking for help on getting cover document dimensions right. I make a few books for writing clients per year, and seemingly every time, I have all my document dimensions matching the template from the self-publishing platform (in this case, Lulu.com). And yet, when I output, the doc is too large by either .3 inches or .6 inches, roughly. I'd be so grateful if someone could, proverbially, teach me to fish on this one. I'll attach the InDesign file. The .pdf template/guide is on a layer. Specs are there. Margins match @ .5 ", bleed matches @ .125 ". Pages are 5x8.  I'm just stumped why the total dimensions don't add up. When outputting, if I pick "use document bleed settings" I'm too wide by .6 inches. If I clear that options, I'm closer, but still .3 inches too wide.  Thank you!Ben 

Hello everyone,I was working on an InDesign file saved on Creative Cloud. I was working on the online file, but after some time, when I reopened it,  I was no longer able to open or download it. It seems like the file has become corrupted. Could you please help me recover my InDesign Creative Cloud file?Thank you.

When I select objects in InDesign, the inner screen starts to flicker when I release my mouse. I'm using MacOS 14 and InDesign 2024. I have updated to the latest of both with no change. I saw in these forums that rolling back to OS 13 helped, turning off GPU performance and removing rulers, all helped. I tried turing off and on GPU, no change. I don't want to roll back to OS 13 or InDesign 2023 or turn off rulers, since I need them. I also read that Apple and Adobe were working on a solution. Has any solution been made? Are there any other suggestions?

I'm am running Windows 11 and I have tried a clean install of InDesign and when I check how much hard drive it takes up it's over 23gb!!! Does anyone know why??? It used to take up about 4gb previously

Hello!  Im working with a client trying to solve an issue thats happened after weve packaged a large-ish guide with many hypelinks. Weve checked that the links are active and correct before packaging but after packaging some of the hyperlinks are replaced with http:// and the original link is gone. I cant figure out why this is happening or any method to which hyperlink is breaking either. I went back to the working file to doube check that its not a shared hyperlink too. Im working on a Mac with the most up to date version of indesign

So this is an issue that has been poppin' up every once in a while.Out of nowhere, the left tabs stop displaying the options, specially the CHARACTER and PARAGRAPH tabs.I can unfold both tabs, but there are no options in them (see attached).Other tabs remain active and available, but these two, of the most important, just cease working.I quit and restart the app, and the problem persists, and I end up having to reboot the machine.I'm on a late 2015 iMac running Monterey.Adobe apps are becoming a mess of instability.I've reported dozens of sudden crashes, troubleshoots. 8 out of 9 times, InDesign crashes when quitting, which is funny but not really.Getting tired of this.  

When I apply a paragraph style from one of my Creative Cloud libraries, the paragraph styles menu automatically pops up over the top of my libraries window. Is there a way to turn this feature off?
