Premiere Pro Team Blog: Performance and Stability: Our Highest Priority

I will be working on keying out a green screen and get a clip to where I am happy with it. Then I will go back to my timeline and click on something else, and bam, my Ultra Key paramaters will have reverted to some previous value that I had tested out while I was dialing things in. This will happen EVEN if I save immediately prior to deselecting the clip in the timeline. I have to make a mental note of all the values I chose or jot them down before I move on. In this screen capture you can watch the "pedestal" value change from 50 to 90. I have two different 2021 16" MPB M1 laptops and this happens on both of them. I have been putting up with it for at least a year but I think closer to 2-3 years. It might have even been happening when I was on my 2014 15" MBP, I can't remember for sure. It took me a long time to figure out what would trigger the bug and then a while before I caught it in action. It definitely happens a LOT when I am changing the parameters of the Ultra Key effect

Anyone else struggling with this? I'm going through source media, looking at the transcript...  I click on a word and hit "I". My in point is set. So far, so good.  I click on another word where I would like to set my out point, and my in point disappears.  What I have to do instead, after setting my in point, is click on the source monitor to make it the active panel, then press spacebar to play until I reach the desired out point. This works... but not the way that would be effective utilization of the transcript.  I'm on a 2021 16-inch MacBook Pro M1, Running version 24.6.3 (build 4). 

What's the difference between all these icons? There are two takes (H005 and H006). But why are they all different icons? The footage looks the same. And Media Properties also the same. I'm working with RED footage. Also if it makes a difference, this is for a project someone else originally made in FCP. Thank you! 

  import a video into the project - everything is in order. After closing the program, such artifacts begin to appear. Quicktime video with alpha, transparent.Effects were not used        

Hi! I have been trying to export a video for a couple of hours to no avail. When I select File > Export > Media, literally nothing happens. No pop up to select export settting, nothing at all. If I try a few times within the same session, Premiere will eventually freeze up and stop working. I use Premiere regulalry and this has never happened.- Premiere is up to date- I've cleared preferences- I've deleted all media cache- Uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere- Restarted my computer several times Nothing has helped.

This screenshot: I have two questions: 1、What is "Timebase" ? 2、What are the values 10, 12, 12.5, 15, 23.976 used for?

In Premiere Pro 5.5 Supposedly rendered clips are not showing previews. The clips are in the project folder, in the PP project bin and are greyed out when loading the project, meaning the project recognizes them. I've rendered the timeline and the green "Rendered" line is above the entire timeline, but they don't render (with preview) and remain with the red "media offline" preview.  Screen shot below. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,I've got 2 instances where I'm using Helvetica Neue. I want the type to be the same size across multiple projects. Project A, says the the type is 100 px, and but Project B says the same, but Project B is displaying the type much bigger. The screenshots were taken with the main screen set to 75%, and both projects are 1920x1080. Any idea why there's a discrepancy?Thanks!Michael!

 

Hi,I just encountered a strange effect that gives me a lot of headaches in the middle of a deadline. I've never seen this before:I have a sequence with some graphics, and some of them have red in them. In the preview and in screenshots / single png frames, everything looks perfect, but when rendering, the exported clip has this strange pixelation at the red areas (see screenshot below: left is a single frame exported / right is screenshot from the exported sequence).This happens when exporting in different compressed filetypes such as mp4, wmv etc. However it does NOT happen when exporting a large quicktime file. But when I recode it in Media Encoder, the problem returns.I have documented this on two different workstations both running CC 2017.the logo files are pngs, but the effect still happens when I save them as jpgs and place them into the sequence. Size of the logo does not matter, the only way to keep away the pixelation is if I use some other color than this red. What kind of w

 So I've done an edit with multicam sequence, but I realised i need to access all the audio clips that is within the MC sequence. What is the best way to do this?  

The intention: I am drawing in a Photoshop layer on my Wacom tablet and would like to record the process as a video (chosen layer only). Later I want to work with it on Premiere Pro. Help very appreciated! Thanks.

What the heck is happening? Trying to add a blur mask for some reason also crops the video file to a 1x1 square?? Here's what the footage looks like with the mask disabled.   And here's what it looks like enabled:  I tried to duplicate the clip so I could attempt a work-around using a opacity mask instead, but turns out the opacity mask creates the same annoying problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everyday my customers and clients give me videos to edit an encode for them. A lot of the times their video quality isn’t exactly the greatest.I COMMONLY use the EFFECTS > VIDEO EFFECTS > NOISE & GRAIN > MEDIAN adjustment slider to correct and fix their clips before I encode their video. Its easy, quick and simple.  Anyone else notice that there is no more option to do that?It’s just Gone??! All we can do is “sharpen” now? That Freekin sux!! Thats probobly the #1 most common tool I use to edit my videos. 😞  

Allow the 1.96 gamma to flow through to the mercury transmit fullscreen second monitor. Right now if you are using a second thunderbolt monitor it displays standard rec 709 gamma so the project manager and full screen output do not match. 

Hi, I'm working as assistant editor on a project with an average of 8 audio tracks per video clips. It's pretty annoying to edit with all these audio the editor will never use (He only uses the mixdown track, the 7 others are muted ...). But I need these tracks because a sound mixer will work on it. A solution could be to sync at the end of the editing but it's a waste of time. Also, I could merge the audio but it creates a new sequence for each clip and it takes to much time too. Is there a way to hide these tracks I know Avid MC easily do that for example. There must be a way to do that, I can't imagine an editor of a feature film works with all the audio tracks...  (I'm sorry for my english, french here and I'm not comfortable with english). 

Whenever I type the letter l during the creation of Text, the whole sentence disappeared from the Program Monitor, the rest of the letters do not have such issue.

Normally I record a video on my Sony xperia mobile phone then open in Premiere, drag it to the timeline and start editing. Just 2 weeks ago I did this without issue. Then today suddenly it treats my recordings as audio only. Both one I recorded today on the same device, and the same recording that worked two weeks ago.The videos play fine in VLC, but [when I import to Premiere they show wav files and no video track at all](https://i.imgur.com/GUpwpIZ.png).Things I have tried:* Clearing the Adobe Cache* Renaming file extension to mpeg* Updating studio drivers* Reinstalling Premiere* Uninstalling recent Windows Updates* Restoring my OS to a restore point from 2+ weeks agoMaybe I could convert them to another file format in order to import them, but that creates an extra step that becomes prohibitively time consuming when many clips are involved. And what's driving me crazy is that I was always able to edit these files from my phone without any problem before.Anything else I should try?

I have several very long band practice videos two 2 1/2 hours and  1- 90 minutes that I’m trying to extract the songs in separate files using Premier Pro. Can somebody assist me with the fastest way to do that? I have two cameras so everything has been recorded on each. 

 Hi,I'm working on an edit that contains several transcribed/translated interviews with generated captions. I'm finding it labourious to move my clips around the timeline with their connected captions, I'm currently lasooing them. What is the best workflow to deal with a WIP edit where you want to preserve the captions with your video/audio.Thanks

1) Using Windows 11 PC with a project with over 300 clips already placed that include Segment and Comment markers in the timeline.  Need to insert and new clip in the middle.  When I use Track select forward tool it moves the clips but not the markers creating a nightmare to adjust the markers to match the clips.Can anyone share a workflow they use to overcome this issue2) When moving a clip and its segment marker to another location in the timeline> Curretn process is:Copy the source videoPlace the CTI at the destinationPress Shift Alt V and source clip appears with the Marker and pushes everything to the right.However, when I select the original clip and delete it and then select ripple delete, the original segment market still remains.Any workflow suggestions are greatly appreciated

I have a Macbook Pro M3 and when I click on Audio or Video clips on the timeline the menu doesn't open entilrely. For instance, on the same project: If I right-click on an Adjustments Layer the menu takes the entire screen heights.If I right-click on a Video Layer if shows only from the place I click up to the bottom of the screen, which brings me a small menu. It's really hard to navigate and operate this way. I have to scroll down the entire menu all the time. I've check a similar discussion, but none of the proposed changes worked for me.And it really bugs me the fact that it works just fine on Adjustments Layers but not on Video layers. Does anyone has any clue on how to solve it?
