Hi,I am trying to output a HTML5 help file and am receiving the following error message:It is also adding this search option to the help file, which didn't exist before:This help file has been generated numerous times in the past, with no problems. However, i am new to the company and am working on a different computer to the previous technical author, could this be the problem? No settings concerning the layout/output have been changed or interacted with in any way.I am using Robohelp11, on a Windows 7 (64-bit) operating system.All i can think is that the issue is due to me being a new user (permission based), or it's because the help file is being generated from a new computer?Many thanks in advance for any help you are able to provide with this.

Hello,I created 1 project using WebHelp and Conditional Build Tags to generate help for our different customers. I apply the Conditional Build Tags to different drawings in the project so each customer can only see the drawings for their particular "flavor" of our equipment. When I generate the project, it works fine.Here is the problem...All of the drawings remain in the project output folder (SSL folder) that I have to distribute to the customers.  Someone actually poked around in the folder and asked me about the files for other customers. 1. Is there a way I can tell RoboHelp to only put the files that I need in the output folder for each customer?2. If there isn't a solution, can you tell me what software application you would use to generate help or training information for many customers with the ability to hide some information.Thank You

Can anyone tell me if there is any Terminology Management Software on the market that integrates with RoboHelp. I am considering products like Acrolinx and TermWeb, but would be interested to hear of any applications that would integrate successfully with RoboHelp. Thanks for your comments.

I've noticed that if I paste content from Microsoft Word into a RoboHelp topic, it comes in with all that dreadful Microsoft HTML markup. I want to use a Paste Special to paste that type of content in as plain text. However, I can't fine that kind of option.

Hi all,This comes from a discussion with one of my developers...we are looking at restricting help topics based on a user's security settings (ie their 'role') and my original plan was to use conditional builds and tag topics with the roles that would need them. However, the roles in our product are actually just a collection of permissions, and our product permits clients to create/modify their own custom roles, which my dev says won't work with the conditional builds.So the developer's question is: can RH detect some sort of user context (their permissions) and dynamically restrict access to topics?It's also possible that we haven't fully understood the capabilities of conditional builds so feel free to educate me.Thanks!

I see that MadCap Flare supports equations written in MathML and LaTeX. As far as I can determine, RoboHelp still does not. Can anyone confirm or deny, please?

I can probably guess the answer, but want to confirm. We are using RH 2015 and we are generating RHTML5. I know that the "Search" tab of the Output SSL window there is an option to Enable Substring Search. This would narrow the search to words within words being searched such as "log" and "catalog" if "catalog" was the search term. I'm guessing there isn't a way to expand the search especially to include plural version of words.

So I am working on a big project and I am trying two different kind of import : PDF and Word. In both cases the text and the images are showing in the program while I am editing them but, once I generate the online web output, in the word case the text is showing but the images are not and if I double click on the empty space the following phrase is showing: Your file was not found. It may have been moved or deleted. With the PDF input both text and images are not showing on the final output online. I was wondering if it could be my fault since that I am not that used to work with this program or if it can be the fact that I have not purchased the software yet and I am just using it on a trail.

I am using RH 2017 with Azure Blue Screen Layout.When you add something to the title bar in Responsive HTML5 settings it becomes the heading on the web page. I would like this to be a clickable link. Similar to how the blue dot was a link. We just don't want a blue dot but would prefer the text.What file would I edit to accomplish this?I've removed the part from the layout.css so the logo.png doesn't display (inserted screenshot below). Hoping this was the proper way to accomplish that task.Thanks,Mary Ann

Hi,As part of my robohelp project (RH2017) i've begun adding 'in-page' hyperlinks, which jump to a later sub-heading in the same article (but not adding these bookmarks to the ToC).As is standard with this type of link, I tag the target sub-heading with a relevant 'id' and then create the hyperlink simply as <a href=#id>Link</a>Unfortunately once this is added, despite it working correctly, Robohelp identifies it as a broken link.Has anyone else come across this? The concern is that these start to build up and I miss a genuine error in future.Should I be doing this via some other process?Many thanks,David

Hi community, I'm relatively new to using Adobe RoboHelp, so any help would be really appreciated. I'm a technical writer, and we use Adobe RoboHelp 2017 for one of our desktop applications. The technical writer who used to work at the company has left, so it's my job to update the help file. However, it doesn't appear the technical writer has left any of the .XPJ files which I need to open the project, so I'm not sure what to do.I am able to extract all of the help files, such as the images, .html files, index etc... by installing the desktop application. I can even open one of the .HTML files and it opens the entire help file. However, I need to update this help file with new material from the new release, so I need a way to do this.It appears I have all the ingredients which were needed to build the file, but I don't have the file itself. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on what I can do? I thought I could build it again from scratch since all the files are availa

Hi,This may be a generic topic but I just need to get clues as to what is causing Robohelp to crash when simply trying to generate a DOCX file from my project. The log file compiles the topics and gets to the saving docx part then crashes.Any info would be greatly appreciated.Jaime

Note: This topic may be related to the "Disappearing Topic" topic posted in 2008. That topic indicated a WebHelp topic could disappear if it had nested div tags. The solution was to remove the nested div tags.I am using RH 2015 to produce WebHelp. We are using Source Control, but I am currently the only one making help updates. In the last several years, I have noticed 3 topics disappear from the help.  One disappeared frequently enough that I started checking to see if it was present or missing each time I generated the help. I'm not sure what changed, but I have not had any issues with that topic in months.  Now, two other topics are randomly disappearing. One has nested div tags. The nested div tags are resulting from using nested DHTML drop-down text. The div tags do not appear in the HTML view within RH; they do appear in the generated web page in the output.  If possible, I would prefer not to have to stop using nested DHTML drop-down text.  I have several top

When I click Output, Printed Documentation, the process hangs when I click Next on the Print Document Section Layout. Hi there,I have asked a similar question about a year ago but I am having an issue. I generate WebHelp. It seems to generate fine in RoboHelp, but when the help is launched from the product (by clicking a Help button) and I select Search, I get a script error message. If I click Yes to continue running scripts, the Search function doesn't work. Any thoughts on how I could solve this issue? Hello,I am getting a script error when clicking the 'home' link of my HTML5 Responsive, Indigo layout. We use the Internet Explorer WebBrowser control to render the site in our product and the script error happens when using that control rather than in IE11 - even though we force the content to render in IE11 mode using the Windows registry. The error doesnt happen in Chrome.The error is "Unable to get property 'length' of undefined or null reference". This happens when the home is loaded and when the home page image (the Pegasus graphic) is clicked.Any ideas?Thank you,David.

We are using a customized version of one of the standard HTML5 layouts.In WebHelp there was a different icon for books vs topics in the TOC. We found this helpful when you have many different levels in your TOC.In HTML5 layout, there is no way to know if an entry in the TOC is a book or a single topic. You have to click it to find out. Is there a way to do this in the HTML5 layout?We are using RH 2017 on Windows 10.

As the title suggests we generate Responsive HTML5. We elected to uncheck the "Show Context in Search Results" option in the Search tab, when we generate our output so breadcrumbs appear. For topics that are not under a book, such as our 'welcome' page or 'using the help' topics, it displays the topic file name instead of breadcrumbs (for example, home_1.htm for the homepage). Is this normal behavior?If we check the "Use Topic Comment as Search Context" in the Search tab when generating, does this always use the first nnn characters in the topic's first paragraph (how does it know where the first paragraph is) or is there a way to add a topic comment to be used?What is the purpose of the Home_1.htm file anyway? When I open the file in the browser it is our content, but is "unformatted."

I am currently using RoboHelp 11, but will soon be moving to version 2017. I am planning to translate Help content to multiple languages and would like to ask the following questions please:Is it best to create a new project for the translated content as a copy of the original project, or can translated content be added to the original project, and then be outputted using Conditional Build tags, for example?For the above approaches, are there any functions in RoboHelp which could help with the translation process, including the tracking of topics that have been sent for translation, etc.Any recommendations or "gotchas" for using RoboHelp for the translation of Help content? Languages may include both Asian and European languages.

OS: Windows 7 Enterprise x64Product: RoboHelp 10I have setup the 64bit install of Robohelp using the application manager. After a full install, when a user trys to open Robohelp is just hangs at "intializing user data". If I right click and "Run as Administrator" and enter credentials to run as a local Administrator, it works fine. We can not have the users do this. Is there something that is a known issue or something I am missing?Thanks

We are creating RHTML5 and when we apply a filter and then do a search for a keyword, RH says we get 79 results but the Search box only lists 9 results based on the filter and at the bottom of the list of search results its says, End of Search Results but there isn't a scroll bar to view the other 70 results. I don't think this is how this should work. The search does show the 9 results correctly but why does the number of results say 79? This is confusing behavior. We are using the Charcoal_Grey screen layout.

RH 2017 (13.02.334)We've been localizing our English RH projects for many years now into 16 different languages, and we do a lot of things by habit. One of these is, when we get our localized files back from our localization dept, we copy the localized content on top of our English base and then set our Project Language settings to the target language and set our SSL language settings to the target langauge.But what is the purpose of the setting the project Language vs. setting the SSL language?I know that the SSL language settings provide me with localized strings for some buttons in the chm window so I have to continue to set that. But is the Language settings for project necessary to set in all cases? The reason I ask is I didn't set the RH project langauge this time on a couple of languages, but didn't notice anything different visually when we generated our output in those languages.We are generating to a CHM format currently (though next version we're going to switch to HTML5).Is

All other documents print properly.  Printer drivers are up to date.  This is a 40 page document that was heavily edited.  It will print the first 18 pages then start over and reprint the entire 40 correctly.  When the print setup window is up it states there are 40 pages to be printed.  I have not used this software for very long and I believe I messed something up while editing. Please advise.

HelloIs it possible to remove the Index-icon from the default layout for responsive HTML5? (see highlighted box in image)When I create the responsive HTML5 output there are four icons created by default (TOC, index, glossary and search function). As I do not need an index for my project the index icon might confuse users, thus, I would like to remove it. I could not find any settings to remove it in the output settings.Thank you very much for your help!
