I have a word document with high resolution images. I have given the image a border in MS Word 2016. The image in itself when captured did not have a border.It looks all good in MS Word.Now, I imported the word document in RH 2017. The content shows up correctly and so does the image. However, where does the border disappear and why?Any way to tackle this? The black border of 1 pt unfortunately is a must.Any way to retain it or redo it in RH?

Is anyone else encountering this regarding the Favorites feature in this layout?'Favorites' button name is not appearing in the output on the Homepage; only an empty button.After a couple favorites have been tagged, the title 'Favorites' also does not appear in the Favorites menu.Windows 10, IE11Thanks

In the company where I work for, we use RoboHelp 2017 and we're exporting our helps to HTML5.Those helps will be shown in the software developed by the company as well as in our website.Ok, so far so good. The problem is that they asked me if it is possible to change the URL structure (before generating a HTML5 output).They would like to replace it by anyword, for example:insted of showinghttp://delphi/examplehtml5/responsive_HTML5/index.htm=Menus%2FMenu_Start%2FInicio.htmIt should display this customized URL:http://delphi/examplehtml5/responsive_HTML5/index.htm=STARTThe purpose is that those words will be "anchors" that will help us to publish our help online.So that everytime a customer clicks F1 it will open the window explaining about the subject where he/she is navigating.So that what I want is to choose a word to be part of this URL.Is it possible to change it in RoboHelp?

Hi,I am testing the use of Related Topics.  I'm using RH2017 with the Azure Layout.  I added two Related Topics for testing purposes, one with a pop-up menu and one with a Topics Found Dialog.I was able to create and test in RH...everything worked as expected.  In fact, when I viewed the item, I even "viewed with" both Explorer and Chrome and it was fine.HOWEVER, when I generated the document, the Related Topics do not work as expected, in either Explorer or Chrome.Clicking on both the Related Topics links displays a rather ugly pop-up displaying the 2 related topics links I created.  Gone is the nicer looking pop-up menu and the Topics Found dialog box.  This happens in both IE10 and Chrome 64.It's strange to me that I "viewed with" both IE and Chrome and it was okay, but turned ugly after I generated the file.Any suggestions?RoboHelp 2017, Responsive, Azure Blue

More RH issues:When I have two (or more) numbered lists in the same topic, numbering continues from one list to the next - instead of restarting at 1. Even when I access the Bullets and Numbering dialog box, select the Restart numbering at checkbox, and set the value to 1 - nothing changes. The numbering still continues from the previous numbered list (defined as a paragraph style).Is this a know bug? Are there any work-arounds?Thanks in advance.

Hi RoboHelp Community, We just upgraded from RH 11 to RH 2017, and I'm trying to re-establish the same versioning we used for RH11. Our team of 3 needs the version control and shared access to the project. We are encountering 2 issues: When attempting to set up the versioning, SharePoint 2010 is producing “Error: Access Denied” for all the .swf files in the Adobe RoboHelp outputAfter setting up the versioning, now when I open the project I get this several times: “Error – The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator” I've contacted our company IT Support, and they said go talk to Adobe because they haven't changed anything. Does anyone have any advice? Do you know what the "list view threshold" needs to be in SharePoint to use the versioning?Thanks! Charlie

I'm not a coder.Here’s something that’s been on my wish list for a while… If you look at the screenshot below, I want to keep the background of the body white.  (By "body", I mean the part of the canvas that has content.  (In default.css, I've set the max-width to 775px.)But I want the background of the UNUSED part of the page to be gray (so that the page/content itself is more defined, kind of like when you view a PDF via a browser -- the page of the document itself is white, but the BACKGROUND on both sides of the page is dark gray.)I'm not a coder.  Seems it would be via CSS code rather than HTML in Master Pages...?I've emailed this question to a developer who does not use RoboHelp.  Her response was:However, I haven't been able to implement this, because 1)  I cannot figure out exactly where, and in which file, to put the line about linear-gradient; and 2)  I cannot find a div.top section default.css, layout.css, or MasterThemeSchema files.Any ideas?Th

RoboScreenCapture is good as a screen capture tool. Is it possible to add a border to images in RoboScreenCapture after you capture a screen?Adding a border in RH 2017 is always possible. But we want a solution for 2 things - high dpi screen capture + a border.Any suggestions?

Hello,We are looking the ways to export Procedures /Pages/Libraries data stored on RoboHelp server 10 into third party applications for further use and we were not sure weather it's possible or not. We know that RoboHelp server supports custom code or compatible with Microsoft .NET framework as well as supports REST API's but we don't know weather RoboHelp Server have capabilities to export data outside of server using any way or not?If anyone exported/retrieved metadata outside of Robohelp server using any technique then any help would be greatly appreciated.Our Proposed system would be - 1. Export data outside of RoboHelp server 10 using any way 2. Dump exported data into third party application for further use.Regards,Uttam.

I bought a new laptop because the old one fried, and I've been trying to install RoboHelp to the new machine. Has anyone experienced this? I am a paid subscriber, and the installation process (which seems to be somewhat archaic, since it won't work with either of the browsers on the new machine) recognizes that, but the active device within my account is still pointing to the old machine, and maybe that's the problem. So I deactivated it, and I'm wondering if there is there a way to add my new device/laptop so that I can install the program?Thanks in advance for any guidance/help, and sorry if it's a dumb question. Hi.I've inherited many help files in this job, one of which outputs to WebHelp. I checked out the files, then updated and generated them. I got no errors and viewed the output just fine. Now when I try to check the files back in, I get an error about this missing file and cannot check in the rest of the files. I wanted to ask if anyone knows what the xmlreadhelper.js file is for before summarily deleting it from source control.Thanks,Dimi Mestier

I have looked through the manual and have been unable to change the default page that opens up when you push 'generate primary layout in robohelp. Currently when i generate primary view it opens on a very unimportant page. I want it to open on the title page i have created. Can anybody tell me how i would go about doing this. Thanks

I was told just yesterday that I need to add a script to every online helpset that requires users to accept (or not) that the help uses cookies. I would think that the standard browser cookie functionality should be sufficient. Anyway, I added a "cookie consent" script between the <head></head> tags in the Topic.slp file for every single helpset that we have made available online. (That's for Responsive HTML.) I need to do the same to all of my older help files that used WebHelp or HTML5 help.Is this long, tedious process really necessary? Is there a better way?Thanks,Karla

I was working in a very long topic and suddenly saw a broken link notification. RoboHelp shows four broken links to the same popup, but of course clicking Edit does not take me to the actual link RH thinks is broken, only to the page. I had not touched that popup anywhere in the topic. I have checked every one of the named popups--and there are many--and they all display properly. I checked the links in the RH topic and in the topic preview. How can I get resolve an error that's not there?--sigh--Never mind. The problem was that the popup link text is shown two different ways (I did not create this topic) and I copied some links that used the second format. RH does not like to copy links, I've found. I could have easily figured this out if RoboHelp was actually helpful enough to take you directly to whatever links it thinks are broken.

I'm interested in creating a script that works at the sentence level that counts the number of words in a selected sentence and reports it in the Output View to help the author write more concisely. Is such a thing is possible in RoboHelp 9, the verison I have? For example, can a RH script operate on selected text, like it can in a Word macro?It's been a while since I've worked ona RH script, but from what I remember, something like this isn't possilble.If that isn't possible, is it possible to to it at the topic level? For example, go through each sentence, count all the words in each sentence in a topic, and if any sentence is greater than the number of specified words, it displays that sentence in the output view.

When I click the View Item button in RoboHelp to generate a preview of a topic, the following error message appears:It persists through all topics, projects, and even after restarting the program and the computer. Not sure what is causing it because just a few weeks ago, I was able to use this button without issue.Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I developed a help system on RoboHelp 9, then upgraded to RoboHelp 11 and most recently upgraded to RoboHelp 2017 about a year ago. A few months ago it was reported that the search function only worked some of the time. My investigation has shown that items entered into the system prior to upgrading to 2017 seem to be included in the search and items entered after upgrading to 2017 do not appear in the search. I've combed the forums and helper websites and cannot find anything related to this issue regarding searching. I've checked and double checked my settings and all appears to be correct.Do I need to make some change to my 2017 so the full text search will truly search all words? Any help/insight is much appreciated.

Hi,I'd like to flag entries in the TOC with symbols to indicate the type of link - a document, a link to a file, etc.  The Help in RoboHelp says there is an Image section in the Properties/Advanced, but I don't see anything.  Am I missing something?Thanks for any help...

Hi there, I realize this may be purely HTML question but I want to implement it in Robohelp so I believe this is the right place to ask the question.What I have is a simple page with several tiles/images (see the image).I added also a drop down menu. What I want to happen is that when I select the first option only the red objects are visible on the page. When I select the blue one - only the blue should be visible. The default value will be something like "select" and all the tiles/images will be visible. Here is also the codeThanks in advanceB

Hi everyone,I believe this question may have been addressed once before, but it was not answered definitively - my project manager is insistent on me finding a way to change the default HTML5 responsive Indigo layout behavior. Currently, in the Indigo HTML5 layout, the Index, Glossary and Favorites 'slideout' from the right-hand side of the screen. (please see screenshot below)Is there any way to change this behavior and have the Index, Glossary etc. slideout from the left hand side? Most websites have this orientation so it's strange that Adobe chose the right hand side of the screen.  I've looked all through the RoboHelp editor settings and it doesn't appear to have any option to move the Index and Glossary from the right to the left side of the screen.Really appreciate any help at all from users that may have found a way to get around this issue!Thanks very much.Billy

I am embedding youtube videos in Webhelp.I used the Insert Multimedia option and selected Web URL.I copied the youtube link and pasted it the Source area (example: https:www.youtube.com/watch....)Some of the videos play correctly. I have differentiated the heading from the body by headings. My headings are arial bold and blue. They are displayed  in some places as blue and in some places it is bold and in some place it is just normal paragraph few paragraphs are perfect. What should I do?

I am exploring the Indigo layout in a trial of RH 2017. In my trial copy, there's a Layout Customization section where you can customize the icons that show on the tiles of the main/home help page (I think RH calls it the landing page). However, according to this page Issues resolved in Adobe RoboHelp (2017 release), that part of the Layout Customization window is going away with Update 2 of RH 2017. The page says "The Home (Custom Icons) component in the Indigo layout is no longer available. With this, customizing TOC icons for the landing page is not possible through the Layout Customization interface. You can still customize the landing page icons through CSS."How cumbersome (or not) is the process for customizing these icons behind the scenes? Do you only deal with the "toc_c_images.css" file, or are there other CSS files you have to deal with, for example to set the use of custom icons to True or to point your project to the right spot for retrieving your custom icon images? RH 2015, latest updateWindows 10RoboHelp HTML, WebHelp outputWe have a "NavigationPath" style in many topics to show users how they get to the user interface component, such as an Options pane, described in the topic. The style is bulleted, with the bullet being a "location pin" image named "navigation_2.png".We have used this image for 2-3 years without any problem. Suddenly, over the last week, when we generate WebHelp output, RoboHelp renames the image, by adding "_nc" to the name: "navigation_2.png" becomes "navigation_2_nc.png". As a result, the output no longer shows the image. (I work around the problem by renaming the PNG without the "_nc", but would prefer to keep this from happening each time I generate the output.)Has anyone experienced this bizarre issue?Thanks.Caro
