Hi All,Is there a way (adding a DIV maybe?) to add some additional information on a frameless HTML responsive layout like Indigo. What I'd like is to add some standard text and maybe embed a video for people when they hit the landing page, instead of having them have to click through to something. I've attached a graphic to show you what I'm thinking. It's a merged project, so the links to the sub-projects are displayed (e.g. eStart, Portals). Ideally I'd keep those intact, but I'd consider replacing those if I could configure the master project to display a topic with the information I wanted in their place. Hello,I'm a first time poster and am currently evaluating RoboHelp 2017 for my company. I am completely new to context-sensitive help and this is my first experience with it, but as the only Technical Writer in our company, I am responsible for creating a concept and choosing the right tool for our needs.We are planning on implementing a context-sensitive help for our newest web application, which should suggest multiple helpful topics to the user of our web application directly within our UI (with links to the fully responsive HTML5 output "Help Center" from RoboHelp).It would be similar to what Facebook is doing with their context-sensitive help (where, depending on where on Facebook you are, you get different suggested topics directly in the Facebook UI).Could this somehow be accomplished with the RoboHelp API? Or is it really only possible to call one specific help topic for each context? This would be a huge programming overhead and not really an option for us.What additional deve

I am getting a strange result when I have only one file (two including the TOC file) in a FM book that I am publishing to Responsive HTML5.  I can explain more about why I am putting all "chapters" into one FM file if relevant, but trying to keep explanation simple.When I publish the book with one FM file containing all chapters, the TOC sync in the output does not work.  If I split the chapters into multiple files, even just two (three in all including the FM TOC), then the TOC sync works fine in the output.  I have tried this with the Azure, Indigo and Charcoal_Grey layouts with the same results, fine if two FM files, not working if only one.  I am using FM 2017 as part of the TCS 2017.Is there a reason why this is happening?  I can't think why TOC syncing should not work even if there is just one FM content file.  The resulting output has 4 levels of content in the TOC, and if I click on the TOC, then the correct topic opens in the content area, but if

I would like to substitute our company logo for the default logo.png file in the Charcoal_Gray HTML5 layout. One of the RH experts sent me these instructions and code:"The logo is defined in the SCSS, but you can use your own CSS to get around the limitation. Hello all,How do you open Responsive HTML5 output on Android and iOS? I'm able to generate the output and open it in an Internet browser on a PC, but I can't find the procedure to open it on a mobile device.So far I copied the generated Responsive_HTML5 folder to a mobile device, and tried to open the index.htm file but this results in a blank help.Does anyone know how to solve this?

Hi there.  I'm a tech novice, looking to create a NEW help file for a different software program of ours based on an EXISTING RH7 file we have.  I need to leave the old one as is, as that will continue to evolve and be further edited, need both to run parallel now.  This new one would be based on the existing file, but with new tweaks and features.  Looking for the best way to do this.I found an old post that read this:  'Copy project folder itself, then open and rename it in RH. This should leave the original project and an exact copy with a new name.', and the moderator felt this was the right solution.However, that doesn't leave me comfortable enough with what I need to do.  Can anyone expand a bit more?  Ex; What is that folder I need to copy, where is it?  I expect the folder that has the same name as my project and is in here: C:\Program Files\RoboHelp Office\RoboHTML, but then where should I put it after I copy it, same folder?  I gue

Hi! I am using RoboHelp 2017, Azure_Blue layout. I wanted to remove the search bar from the title bar (and keep the one in the side bar. After HOURS of trial and error, I finally found the fix. We are using RoboHelp 2015. We need to generate our online help as WebHelp from a command line automatically as part of the product build process. The requirement is to enable automatic generation of the help whenever the software is built. I found the following article with instructions on Peter Grainge's site. I would like to know if this will work as described or if anything in that article has changed or if there are other things I'd need to do to make command-line generation work. I am running Tech Comm Suite 2015 but currently only using RoboHelp, which is why I am posting in this forum. I have a 64-bit OS running Windows 7 with Service Pack 1. I have 138 GB of free space on my hard drive and 8 GB of RAM.When  I am editing the style sheet in Code Editor and have a few topics open so I can see the results of my changes, without warning, RH closes. This has happened repeatedly. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from occurring?

Running Windows environmentI have a user who placed the output/exported files from robohelp to shared mapped folder. The issue is that he would like to protect the folders and allow the users to run the webpage only. I have tried to do some tinkering on the NTFS permission of the folder. But after denying read and execute permission. the html stopped working. Any advise how we can protect the folder without hindering the access of the html webpages.I know normally to solve this problem we can host it in IIS or FTP server. But i would an advise from anyone who has good expertise on this matter. Thank you.

I just recently installed the RH2017 upgrade from RH2015. The new Responsive HTML5 Indigo "search" works fine on a single project. However, when I am testing my merged Master/Parent project, the search results do not return anything from the linked/child projects connected to it. This sort of defeats the purpose of using it for a help system.  Has anyone else encountered this? Is there a setting I'm missing?I've been over the layout settings several times and while I can change all sorts of cosmetic things, I do not see anything about enabling the search for child project files.I admit I have been using this same file structure for many years. If there is a better suggestion for merging 100+ projects, I'm open to ideas! Ultimately, I just want to let my end-users search for their information more effectively. Thanks!

Environment: TCS 2017 on Windows 7.Hello,I am trying to import some FM files into RoboHelp and I get the "This operation cannot be completed without FrameMaker" error. I searched the forums and, for the other people, the problem was a lack of TCS... but I do have TCS 2017 installed. I tried opening FrameMaker before RoboHelp and the same error appears.My guess is that it's caused by the fact that I followed the incorrect steps when upgrading from TCS 2015 (I installed TCS 2017 on top on 2015 and then uninstalled TCS 2015). This workflow caused other errors as well, but I thought most of them were solved by another install of TCS 2017... but it seems not.Anyway, I remember that, 4 or so years ago, a coworker had a problem with FM integration in RH and someone on the forums had provided a modified version of a certain file which solved the issue. Does anyone know the name of this file? The integration is working fine on another's coworker's PC and I am hoping I can copy her file and avoi

I am trying to use conditional tags to get filters to work in the output. It seems this only works with books or topics added directly into the merged project, not the merged project item in the toc, even though RH allows me to apply a conditional tag to the item.In the generated output, the only filter that works is the one attached to the How To Use book.  None of the other filters work. My goal is to be able to create filters that would let users select "sets" of books for their needs.  Should this work, or am I pursuing this the wrong way?

I am trying to use custom toc images (the visual aspect already addressed in this community and answered) in a merged project.  I am using the same customized copy of indigo in Framemaker (where I managing the content) and in RH where I am merging the content.  The custom toc images work well except for the following:When I click on a book at the top most level of the toc (which visually looks correct with the custom toc images), the next page reverts to showing the standard book icon.top most levelNext level after clicking on Display Role AccessNote, the Display Role image displayed here is the non-hover view of the "back" arrow.  When you hover over this, you seeI did nothing for this to work, and I think it is pretty cool.The problem is that the two standard book images should be custom images I have selected for those topics in the Framemaker content published using the same version of the customized Indigo layout.Any ideas how to fix, or where I should start to look

I'm passing on what worked for me.The background: - RoboHelp 2015, 12.0.4.460 (up to date at time of writing)- Small number of topics (less than 15)- Pushing all project files to our own server for web app deployment as a "help" button\- Project created using Web Application Help template (New Project > Web Application Help)The problem:- WebHelp output appears fine using the Preview function; table of contents is visible and works properly- WebHelp output is missing a table of contents when deployed in the app. The pane is blank.Initial hypothesis: Gremlins in server room! Revised hypothesis: Settings issueThe solution:- Created a new TOC with the exact same contents as the original TOC- Explicitly specified the duplicate TOC as the TOC file to use for WebHelp:    1. I have several existing RoboHelp HTML projects that I keep updated.  Starting this week I have started receiving an error: 'HHComponentActivator' is undefined when I attempt to Preview Topic.  The topic previews fine when I choose Yes to continue running scripts on this page, but am puzzled why all of a sudden I have started receiving this error.  Could a Window update cause this to occur? That is the only thing I can think of that has changed in the past week since I started receiving error.  If Preview Topic and generating .chm files works fine, should I be concerned about this error?

I have a large webhelp project that is currently in RoboHelp 2015.We would like to allow, say, four people, to edit, delete and add topics to this RoboHelp project. Please explain the best method(s) and software to accomplish this. Would we need some version control software? If so, what software?Thank you.Jan

I'm starting a new discussion because I've now got the page to the point where the only thing not working is Robohelp is not recognizing the media queries I placed within the code.I figure it's a Robohelp issue because from within notepad it works when I open the page in the browser and resize the browser. Also, when I use the inspector tool and test it with different device options. In fact, I'm attaching two screenshots of what that looks like. One for the iPadMini and the other for the iPhone5. The iPhone5 image is the one without any icons.The only time the media queries don't work is when it's gone through Robohelp.I do have the proper metatag in the head:<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,height=device-height,initial-scale=1" />Any ideas? I'm running out of time. The project is due no later than Friday and I know my boss doesn't want to wait until last minute. I appreciate your help!

When you increase the width of the browser window for the Responsive HTML5 output, the width of the header increases, and the "Home" icon at the top left increases in size. I have been asked to remove this feature, so that the header remains at the same width, regardless of the width of the browser. I tried removing the line "background-size:auto 80%;" from the "div.header div.logo" section of the layout.css file, but this did not address the issue. I'd appreciate any advice.Thanks,Mark

A bit 'off the wall' this! .... but can anyone suggest a suitable way where I can scan a QRCode from within a project (Multiscreen HTML5 output) using a mobile phone and use the returned information from the QR code to directly open a topic in the project? I want to use a QR code as a type of password to a new section of the project.

My employer is asking me to give the end user the ability to print one page of the help. For example, display a topic the way they want. Click a button in the task bar that prints to their attached printer. I'm linking to field definition pages and those need to print as well.Is there a way to do this?Also, they want a way for the customers to be able to print the entire published help (I know, I know). I'm assuming I will need to create a pdf document of the entire help system. Can I include that pdf in the Master Project? Or can I provide a printed version of each child project and provide the pdf in each child project and print from there in the published and generated help?Thanks for your help,MDawn
