I have a loooong pdf document created from many separate Word documents (Word 2007). Each document has it's own header and footer in Word, which I need to remain in the PDF file. When I merge the files togeter using Acrobat, everything is fine. Then I can add additional header/footer using Acrobat with no problem. The problem occurs when I need to insert a new page into the document. It inserts the new page without the overall Acrobat header, so I update the Acrobat header and Acrobat then deletes all of the headers that were originally created in Word. Grr.... Is there any way to keep Acrobat from recognizing the Word headers as headers so they'll remain permanently in the document? I can't re-create the PDF document each time one of the zillions of pages change. I hope this makes sense :) Edited to add that I know this would be easier in InDesign or some other program, but I'm the only one who has these programs, so the original files have to remain in Word so other employees ca

Hello,We have a Synology NAS in our company and when we try to save directly to it (the file is saved there, opened, modified, and then saved) 80/90% of times it gives these kind of unspecific error about something that went wrong during the connection. We access this NAS both from our local network and from a VPN, the error is happening only when using Acrobat Pro, no other adobe products has this issue, nor any other software. We’ve recently changed the main firewall, but we would like to ask here what could it be due to (doesn not happen 100% of times and only with Adobe Pro)

If I want to link my PDF file so people can view it, but not share it, download it or even comment, how do I do that?  What Abode product will let me setup the way a Pdf document can be used for only viewing and nothing else, no download, no sharing, and no comments?Thank you.

Hi!I have installed the font Open Sans on my computer. Everything appeared to be fine when I used Open Sans in Word, but after exporting to PDF the font appears uneven in PDF. When opening the PDF in a browser it looks fine, but when I open it through Acrobat it looks odd.You can see an example here of how it looks:I have tried to delete and reinstall the font, I have tried variable and static version of the font. Hello, On a new Windows 11 laptop, I have installed Acrobat and when I start it, after some sec (5-10) a blank popup windows appeared and acrobat freezed. No possibility to close it, just possibility to kill it via the process manager tool. I updated it to version 2025.001.21233 64 bits without success. Behind the blank popup you can see the Acrobat view, confirming that the Blank popup is an acrobat popup. Of course, I tried to repair / Uninstall / Resinstall acrobat without success. Who face similar issue and what was done to unblock the situation ? Tks for your support. 

Buenos días, tengo un problema exactamente igual, me subscribí a una plant con la prueba de 7 dias, cancele antes de los 7 días y recibí un correo de confirrmación y aún así he recibido cargos por la subscripción, la hice directamente con adobe, estoy intentando ponerme en contacto con alguien para poder solicitar el reembolso y no hay ninguna manera o opción o correo donde pueda hacer la solicitud, adjunto captura de pantalla del correo recibido No me gusta tener que estar toda una mañana perdiendo el tiempo porque no hay nigún contacto donde dirigir las preguntas, hay miles de opciones pero ninguna de como hacer una reclamación, me parece vergonzoso y abusivo.  He vuelto a cancelar el plan porque me aparecía activo no se porque motivo cuando ya hice la cancelación recibi el correo directamente de adobe. 

Brand new Windows 11 laptop and downloaded Adobe Acrobat which I purchased with my HP laptop. When I open Adobe it flashes quick and then closes immediately. If I need to re-install how do I do that? I assume if I try to enter the keycode I got in an email it will tell me that code has already been used. The ICON on my desktop says Adobe Acrobat Classic but my email says I purchased Adobe Acrobat 2024 Pro.

I spent about 8 hours reviewing a long document today leaving comments and organizing my bookmarks, while regularly saving my changes and syncing to the cloud. Out of no where, my acrobat crashed and when I reopened, all changes made since I began working this morning were completely gone. Is there any way get them back, or am I completely out of luck?

Hi,My adobe keeps crashing today when adding multiple pages to a single pdf.. Approx 70 pages in this case. So i have to force close acrobat pro.  At the same time the working pdf file vanishes.  I have tried re-installing adobe acrobat pro. This is the first time i have seen this issue.  Don’t have time to spend on troubleshooting atm and adobe chat not available apparently 9:30 am QLD is outside of their 9-5 support hours…… Arrrrr    

Hello community! This is my first time posting here so I don't really know too much about posting, but I need some help. I was trying to install Acrobat Reader on my Windows 7 laptop and when I ran the installer it said it was successful, however it didn't create any shortcuts on my desktop, nor my Start menu. I tried checking in program files for an Adobe folder but there was nothing. I even checked the program files x86 folder but there was no adobe folder there either. The installer never said there was an issue and since running that the laptop has gotten slower. The laptop I have is a Dell Latitude E6440 (and for anybody asking, no this is not my main computer). Please help! And in case anyone thinks I downloaded a fake installer, I went to the official Adobe.com website to download it.

File security permissions inheritance (NTFS ACL) is broken when Acrobat overwrites files with Protected Mode enabled.When Acrobat overwrites a file in Protected Mode, the resulting PDF inherits the ACL of the sandbox temp file (%LocalAppData%\Temp\acrobat_sbx\).Hence the overwritten file becomes accessible only to the account that performed the overwrite operation.Other users on the network who access the shared folder using different credentials (e.g., a shared user account) can no longer see or open the file.Process:1. Acrobat opens the PDF inside its sandbox (Protected Mode).2. When overwriting an existing file, it writes a temporary copy to:   %LocalAppData%\Temp\acrobat_sbx\3. That folder inherits the restrictive ACLs of the root TEMP directory (typically SYSTEM/Admins only).4. Acrobat then replaces the original file using its internal sandbox I/O.   This replace operation preserves the sandbox ACL instead of reapplying the shared folder’s inherited permissions.5. Result: users on

For what is worth, I’ve been through the Enterprise support process add another voice to the request for long file name support (over 255 characters) in Acrobat Pro - The Adobe engineering team is now working on bug # ADC-4552912.We were also able to reproduce this issue internally and we will share all info related to this bug on priority including the ETA.This support case does not require further troubleshooting. Hence, we will now close this support ticket as the bug investigation continues.We will notify you of the updates, and if you want to track them, you may send an email to "ecs@adobe.com" or acrots@adobe.com with the bug number I will re-post here if i get any updates.

I recently downloaded and purchased an Adobe Acrobat subscription for work, but so far I haven't been able to do anything because the file I'm working with is constantly being in a process of "sorting fonts." The file is 140 pages long, a PDF. It contains many images, tables, and elements, and the original text itself is in English, but I'm using DeepL Translator to translate it into Russian and then work with that. P.S I use Arrial font.Some of the translations aren't very good linguistically, which is why I need a convenient PDF editor. I've searched everywhere for information on my case, but I've seen practically no similar issues, only on the website with the Russian Adobe forum, but no one has responded there. I am unable to open any PDFs on my computer. I have uninstalled, reinstalled and it worked for a few minutes, then the open files disappeared. Now when I try to open a PDF, I get a small circle on my desktop. See the attached jpgs. I cannot move it or expand it. When I click on the circle  the icon on the task bar disappears, maybe it shuts down.? I have installed, reinstalled, repaired multiple times. Any assistance will be appreciated. 

So, we're using Shared Reviews for our PDFs to collect comments and it's working well. However, we've encountered a disturbing problem - how to handle sensitive documents? The problem is this:The link sent to reviewers is a public link (no AdobeID sign-in required). This means that anyone with the link can read the document. Not good.Password-protected PDFs can't be shared for review. This would have been the obvious workaround otherwise. So, does anyone know of another way to do this? It seems crazy to build a Document Cloud-based system that's only geared towards non-confidential documents. Or am I missing something? Thanks! PS Sharing directly from InDesign allows you to create private links but that features is so buggy it's unusable for us.

I have a drop down menu of options where the background colour changes based on the choice picked. For at least two years I  have had an ocr button on the floating tool bar (looks like a little document with a folded over corner). On 2/17 it disappeared. I was able to put that icon back on the tool bar but now it requires an extra click to perform the operation which is simply to make the document text searchable. Please tell me how to get that “one click” function back. It literally will double my work to click twice and I see no reason for that change that benefits me. Other details:Acrobat Pro individual subscription through work (no longer says “Pro” or “DC” - apparently those qualifiers were removed for some unknown reason)Windows 11 (365) New UI (I hate the old one and will not be going back; don’t ask)Thanks.

My computer restarted after windows updates and now I'm unable to preview pdf's as before. I have tried resetting View Options... in different options as suggested by multiple forums. None have been able to re-activate the Preview Pane option. In Adobe preferences, I've checked and unchecked "Enable PDF thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer" without success.Coworkers are now experiencing the same thing after the automatic updates occurred after-hours. Suggestions or alternatives to opening each file?

Hi everyone,I’m currently working on a long-form editorial layout in Adobe InDesign where multiple stories flow across non-consecutive pages. I need to implement newspaper-style jump lines such as: “Continued on page X” “Continued from page Y” The main challenge is keeping everything accurate after text reflow and pagination changes. I’m looking for a solution that remains stable even after significant edits in large documents (100+ pages).I’m familiar with cross-references and text variables, but I’m unsure which method scales best in real production environments. Is there a reliable way to detect where a threaded story breaks across pages? Are cross-references stable enough for heavy editing workflows? Would a scripting approach (ExtendScript or UXP) be more robust long-term? I work in digital workflow and automation as well (currently building Funnelflex — https://funnelflex.com), so I’m especially interested in solutions that are systematic and scalable rather than manual fix

Hi everyone,I'm having an issue with fonts not properly converting from PowerPoint to PDF. While I am able to get the main font in the family to convert from one format to another, I can't seem to get the formatted variants of it to do so (like bold, italicized, condensed, etc.). It all just ends up converting into the same main version of the font with all the formatting gone.I've tried tinkering around with the "Embed fonts in the file" option in PowerPoint, and selecting the font to embed in the Adobe PDF Settings feature in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC. Neither has worked so far.Thanks in advance for your help working out this problem.

Hi, I was printing some stuff with adobe acrobat, as I do almost every day. Everything went smoothly, until I had to edit something within a PDF, tried to print it again, but Acrobat refuses to print to A3. I put everything right: in the printer settings it says A3, paper settings A3 etc. I even tried to set A3 at the adobe PDF printer & scanner settings, but to no avail. He wants to keep printing everything to 215,9 x 279,4 mm. I don't know how to change it, I feel like i've tried every setting but he keeps wanting it to be smaller size!! I really need to be able to print A3… is there an easy fix? 

When I select any tool in Acrobat (for example, Edit, Organize Pages, Prepare Form, etc.), the left panel appears but it is completely empty. No options or tool settings are displayed. This happens in every tool, not just Edit. I already tried restarting the app, logging out and in, reinstalling Acrobat, and resetting preferences, but the issue persists. This seems to be a very recent problem on macOS, because until last week the tools panel was working normally.The first image is from an official Adobe tutorial, showing the Edit tool with its options correctly displayed in the left panel. The second image shows my case: with the same tool (Edit) selected, the left panel is completely empty — no options appear. The third image is just illustrative, showing that the full list of tools does appear in the left panel, but the problem starts when any tool is actually selected.macOS  Version 15.6 (24G84)Adobe Acrobat Pro:Architecture: arm64Processor: Apple M3 ProBuild: 25
