I noticed today that an update was apparently applied to Acrobat, which is now running Continuous Release | Version 2026.001.21662 | 64-bit.I noticed this because I see new features like “generate podcast” or “generate presentation”, etc.The problem is that I also notice I can no longer request e-signatures for my docs. When I select the option, it brings up the window to start typing in the names/emails of the people I need signatures from, and at the same time I see it checking for form fields. When the form field checker completes, though, Acrobat falls to the back of my active apps, and when I click back into it, it’s all grayed out waiting for me to fill in the names/emails, but that dialog is gone, and I can’t bring it up. The only way out is to kill the Acrobat app in task manager.I’ve rebooted, removed and re-installed, but I’m having the same problem every time. Here’s a video showing exactly what’s happening. Note that I intentionally left the doc in a blank white area jus
Hello everyone,I'm facing an issue with Adobe Acrobat on my MacBook and I'm hoping to find a solution here.Initially, Acrobat started freezing and became unresponsive. I decided to perform a clean installation, but now the application won't launch at all. When I click the Acrobat icon, it appears in the Dock with a dot underneath , but the main application window never opens. I can only close the process by using Force Quit.MacBook Model: Macbook pro 14" M2Max 32gbAcrobat Version: 25.1 What I Have Already Tried:Force quitting the application and restarting the Mac.A complete uninstallation using AdobeAcrobatCleanerTool.Restarting the Mac after the uninstallation.Reinstalling the latest version downloaded directly from the Adobe website.Checking the Activity Monitor for any stuck "Acrobat" or "Adobe" processes. Unfortunately, none of these steps have solved the problem. The application is still stuck in the Dock and refuses to open.Does anyone have any fur
I'm new to Acrobat DC and am used to working with individual PDFs. I've got DC setup to NOT do tabbed management of multiple open files. How do I now stop it from reverting to a "Home Screen" showing recent files when I close the last open PDF? I think, that when I close the last open PDF, Acrobat should just go away/die.
Draw free-form bottom is not working What should I do?

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro - I highlighted a PDF document using the drawing tool. I would create a rectangle around the language I wanted to highlight, and a tool bar would appear above that had the change color tool and I selected fill, color, and used the opacity meter. My question is - when I went to highlight another section, the change color tool disappeared. I eventually decided to just close Drawing Tool and then re-open it again and the change color tool was there again. I was wondering if there was easier way to do this vs opening / closing the drawing app over and over again. Thank you
I am an editor and make suggestions by using the commenting features. I often use special symbols in my suggestions (en- and em-dashes, accented alpha characters, etc.), so alt codes are crucial to my workflow. After the new Acrobat update, alt codes no longer work in my comments. I have turned num lock off and on, restarted the program, and restarted my system, to no avail. My alt codes still work for all other programs on my device; the issue seems to be only with Acrobat. I’ve recently had to reinstall the program after the update for a different reason (constant crashing any time I tried to scroll down a page).
How can we rotate objects annotations and text fields in acrobat. For reference lets you select an annotation and drag a rotation handle directly on the object.
Hi, I’m having a problem with the highlight function on my tablet. When in landscape mode, the toolbar appears vertically on the left side, and when I want to change the highlight color, it doesn't show me the color options—only the one currently displayed.
I just want to know how to change my login name when I add Comment "balloons."
My highlighter tool in Acrobat Pro DC stopped working! Can anyone help me? I press the highlighter icon on top of my screen, highlight my text, and then nothing happens. If I click the area that I tried to highlight this blue box/border shows up - but nothing is highlighted. First screenshot is my text as I'm highlighting it - Second screenshot is after I "highlighted" it, but nothing happenedThird screenshot is when I click on the area that I had "highlighted", this annoying blue box appears. Please help!
From the toolbar, I select Text Callout. I can left-click once and place the arrow, typical procedure is to click once more to place the text box. The subsequent click no longer functions. The text box floats forever. I have to hit escape to cancel it. I cannot use the Text Callout. None of the other tools in the same category as Text Callout function either. I have “Repaired Installation”, checked for updates, and uninstalled and reinstalled to no effect. Multiple error messages have been sent to Adobe. This is utterly unacceptable. I am using Adobe Acrobat Individual on $14.99/month plan.
Adobe still has this probelm in 2025
We recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Standard XI.Our users take system generated PDFs and customize them by adding additional text and images. They generally always use specific font formatting options when adding their text.Unfortunately, we haven't been able to figure out a way to set the default font formatting options when using the "Add Text" Content Editing Tool. You are always stuck with the Minion Pro font at 12 point. Therefore, each time the user adds new text, they must select the text that they just added, and then change the font formatting options from within the Content Editing tools pane. It would be really useful to be able to set the default font formatting options once and all new text added would use those settings.
When using any of the Acrobat shape drawing tools (line, arrow, rectangle, oval, etc.), Acrobat places the first “vertex” of the selected shape on the canvas where clicked (as it should). Then, when moving the mouse to the desired location of the second vertex, the shape resizes visually to preview what it will look like once the second vertex is placed (as it should). But then, when clicking to place the second vertex, Acrobat behaves as if the mouse actually never gets clicked, and the shape never actually gets placed, and it continues to resize when the mouse is subsequently moved to a different location on the canvas. The above problem doesn’t exist when protected mode is disabled. Nor does the problem exist immediately after using the AcroCleaner tool and reinstalling Acrobat, though after the first shape is successfully placed, the problem returns for subsequent operations.
The highlighter tool switches to a text selection I-beam when it thinks there is OCR'd text. I've tried to get rid of the OCR text ghost via "Protect PDF" and hiding/removing data and that is totally ineffective. Also, saving as with both optimized and reduced size does not make a difference.
Adobe Acrobat, all line drawing functions, I can start a line, etc., but cant get the app to stop the function. I have to force quit the application. I am updated to the latest version, and I have used the repair function
I'm using a standalone Adobe Standard 2020, upgrading from an Adobe Standard 9. Under "9", I used to be able to alter font and size of text in a textbox by going into the "properties" of the text box, but under "2020" the "properties" menu is limited to "delete". So, I then go to "edit .pdf" and then highlight the text in the textbox I created within an existing .pdf file, but the sidebar (on the right of the screen in the app) is grayed out and won't let me change text or text size. I have tried all kinds of ways, and the only thing I came up with is to (yes, believe it or not!) create a Microsoft Word file, type in what I want, pick the text size, then copy and paste that into the text box. There must be a better way, and I would very much appreciate it if someone could provide instructions on "how do I change font and text size withing a textbox". Thanks.
No one can make comments in the pdf reviews because Adobe releases the pdfs as a restricted file. I disabled Enhanced Security in preferences and Secruity Method is set to "No security" in Document properties. When I look at the document restrictions summary, commenting is allowed but when reviewers open the pdf review, the commenting tools are unavailable. How can I get around this issue?
When I use the line tool to draw a line. I click on the initial point and then click the intended end point to complete the line. Too many times when I click on the initial point and then click on the desired end point, I cannot complete the line. The line follows my cursor but won’t complete creating the line. The only way to get out the malfunctioning line tool (or this file) is to force quit (task manager) to close the file (I cannot do anything else to the file). It happens randomly. VERY FRUSTRATING!Any ideas? Thank you in advance for any help!
A constant issue at my workplace is that many PDF documents need to be signed by more than one party. We are always jumping through hoops printing and signing in ink and re-scanning. It would be nice if there was a simple yes/no selection when signing to choose if the document should become read-only after signing, or remain unprotected to allow other signatures.
I would like to add comments on a PDF for team use and proofing. When the PDF is final, I would like the option to delete all comments on all pages and save as a final version for client, without the client seeing any of the comments.
This application is becoming trash, 20+ years using most adobe products, and them charging for even Arial fonts really? does anyone know of a mother PDF application?
