I cannot locate this situation in the forums. I hope somoene is familiar with these elements. Using: RoboHelp 2020Skin: Studio Does anyone know where I can locate the mouse over text for the right panel? See image below for a visual reference. I want to remove the test “set as Favorite”.Also, I would like to move the highlighter button and its function to the “favorite” space, however, it is not real clear where the on-click function adjustment can be located. I see under “buttons” in the topic page, there is a “button-X_ applied” field, but I do not see where the actual action is located in the adjustable fields. Does anyone know where to locate that or reference material I could access about these options?
Hello, I am testing source control with a test project on AzureDevops, I managed to set up the connection and copied the project locally, but when I edit a topic and then I prompt the check-in dialogue box, the topic with changes does not appear in the list, the dialogue box is empty so the Check in button is disabled. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks!Angelica
I sent the programmer the whole project folder with all of its folders.Which file does he use to put in the build so that it the generateted output opens in the browser?I am using RoboHelp 2019 NEW UII generated Responsive HTML web help
I’ve started a project which requires using RoboHelp 2019 Classic to update some files. (We haven’t upgraded to RoboHelp 2020 and probably won’t for a while longer.) There have been some source control errors due to files that are in source control that should not be. (We use TeamForge.) So far I’ve found in particular that $rhvariable$.htm and <file_name>.ldb should not be in source control:https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp/rhvariable-htm-and-lt-file-name-gt-ldb-file-in-robohelp/m-p/11241604 Then the following file types are also listed as those that should not be in source control:* projectname.cpd* projectname.pss* projectname.hhp* projectname.trl* ehlpdhtm.jshttps://www.grainge.org/pages/snippets/snippets.htm#sourcecontrol Am I missing anything? Any other files relevant for a RoboHelp 2019 Classic project that shouldn’t be in source control?
HOping someone has experience with this issue or similar? When we convert an existing RH 2017 over to the new RH 2019 version, the existing bookmark links do not work anymore. They take one to the correct html top of page, but it doesn't go to the specific bookmark further down the page. After research we found out that the existing bookmark title contains upper-case letters in the title (example: Open_This_Page). And when we convert the upper cases letters to lowercase, then the book marks will work properly. But by doing this, folks that have bookmarked or used the previous URL bookmarks in various material will have broken links, unless they revise all of their version 2017 links. Has anyone experienced this, and found a solution so the existing bookmark urls convert properly over to the new 2019 version? Thanks you for any insight.
Robohelp Version 2020.5.71 For some reason my import is creating a bunch of bookmarks I don't want. I am sure it comes down to the formatting in my Word doc (which I can't figure out) but at this point I would be happy to just use one function within RH that removes ALL bookmarks. Does this exist?
Hi All, I am hoping someone can help with this as I've tried troubleshooting and looking at previous posts and cant find a solution. I have edited the style sheet in use on my project to provide every image with background shading and padding of 25px. Having applied it : 1. I can immediately see the shading has been applied to the topic page in edit mode2. I can immediately see the shading has been applued to the topic in preview mode However, when I the save all changes and switch to View Output these changes are nowhere to be seen. I have attached two screenshots to show you and - to make it obvious - temporarily set the background shading to red. I have tried this a number of times, double checked the changes have saved on the style sheet, tested the output in a different skin to see if that made a difference and (of course) also simply tried shutting down and rebooted but it is the same result. Interestingly, if i go into an individual
Running RoboHelp 2020.5 2 questions:Can an INDEX be included/provided for a Frameless output using the TopNavigation skin? Can a GLOSSARY be included/provided for a Frameless output using the TopNavigation skin? I specified both in my output config, but they aren't available/don't appear/I can't find them in the output. Thank you!
Publishing to SFTP does not work with RoboHelp 2020 update 5. SFTP is enabled - and working - on my Ubuntu server. I can connect to it and upload files using WinSCP (a simple GUI SFTP client for Windows). However, I can't upload files from RoboHelp directly, which is annoying. One thing I noticed is that when I configure the SFTP server's address in the publish profile, RoboHelp insists on adding "https://" in front of the IP address, and will not let you save with just the IP address. As it turns out, RoboHelp then tries to connect to "https://192.168.xxx.xxx", which will never work, since adding "https://" in front of the address makes it incorrect... This theory seems to be supported by the error message found in the publish log: Error: connect: client-socket error. Address lookup failed for host https://192.168.---.--- after 1 attempt To validate this theory, I manually edited the "Publish_profiles.json" file found in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\R
Not sure if this is how it's supposed to work, but if I select a variable for the Metadata Title in my PDF output preset, and generate the PDF, the PDF's Title property just contains the variable name and not its actual value. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
Hi, I have upgraded the project from RH Classic 2019 to RH 2020 after this applied masterpage with breadcrumbs to all topics but when chm file generated the seperator is overalapping the content name, please provide solution for this as we created masterpage again in RH 2020 but still issue is not resolved.
We have recently upgraded to RoboHelp 2020 and the first thing I did was to install the latest update (2020.5.71). I am trying to upgrade my existing RoboHelp 9 project but end up without any topics. All topics (and most images) are stored in sub-folders in existing RH 9 project. I cannot get a screenprint of the RH 9 project as it constantly crashes on opening since I started running Windows 10 (which is why we upgraded to 2020). I am attaching a screenprint of the RH 9 project folders in Windows Explorer and also of the RH 2020 project folders. The project has 2 tables of contents (English & French) which are both shown in RH 2020 upgraded project but none of the content. Help topics I found online regarding upgrading classic projects to RH 2020 indicated that topics/images in root folder would be moved to Assets folder while all others would remain in existing folders so the fact that topics/images in old project are in subfolders shouldn't be causing the issue. My p
Running RoboHelp 2020.5 Looking for a way to provide previous and next functions for TopNavigation frameless output end users. Tried creating custom buttons/functions and setting OnClick to EVT_PREVIOUS and also EVT_NEXT for each (just a guess), but no luck. The web browser's frame and tabs will be hidden/suppressed for end users, so they need a way - within the help system - to navigate forward and backward across topics they've opened.
Greetings,As mentioned before, I'm working on getting back up to speed with RoboHelp. For this new project, I'm noticing the current install is RH 2019 rather than 2020, so we will likely upgrade soon. I have a couple of questions please. Is there still an accessible help output option in RH 2020, or have the output options been updated so there is no longer a need to generate an accessible version of output? Also, I was noticing output of the upgraded (non-classic version) is quite different than the output generated with the RH Classic version. Are there any resources that can be used for customizing the new version of the output (the header bar specifically)? It looks like the default header is a shaded bar with the title preceded by a circle; I'd like to change that.
Hi, I have downloaded the trial version and using a word doc to create a sample help file. I have added the TOC in the TOC Panel and when I generate the HTML5 there is nothing in the contents pane.
Hi, I downloaded yesterday the trial version of RH 2020 to see whether the upgrading of my 2017 project works correctly. The project is quite huge and contains around 18.000 files when published, I tried by opening RH 2020 and select Upgrade project. The process starts running but not even 20 seconds later I get the following error and the import fails, forcing me to shut down the application. Could you please let me know how to tackle this issue and what could be the problem? Thanks. Angelica
Hi, I just upgraded to RH 2019 (just upgraded a week ago so all updates should be included I assume), and I'm having trouble with the import of a word doc - no paragraph styles are listed in the "Start new topic from style" dropdown. I've been using RH for years, and my word document is constructed correctly using proper styles.
I'm currently unable to generate Word output for my help project. I'm using RH 2020 Ver 5. When I generate the Word output (which worked fine until recently), it processes for a few minutes, then fails with an error stating that the Word output did not generate. I've tried creating a new Word Output preset, but it fails in the same way. I have multiple print TOCs, and the error occurs no matter the TOC selected within the Output.
I'm using RH 2020 Ver. 5. When creating PDF outputs from the help system, occassionally some tables will overwrite other content on a page in the PDF file. What might be causing this issue with the tables? Also, sometimes the table will break with the table caption and header row on one page, and the rest of the table on the next page. Can this be addressed using the Page Break controls for the table styles in the CSS? If so, how should it be configured?
Hi All, I'm looking at using Frameless v Responsible HTML5 skins and one of the things I've noticed is there does not seem to be a Favorites function in the functionality bar for Responsive (but there is for Frameless). Is this correct and, if so, does anyone know of a straightforward workaround e.g. us the javascript section to add a button and enter an OnClick line of code? If so does anyone know the code to use for that? Thanks in advance.
I am using RH 2020.3.32 (still newbie) and trying to understand some of the differences between the Responsive and Frameless outputs. I used the About RoboHelp sample project and found that when I used the Frameless output preset and viewed the results in a browser, each time I clicked on an item in the TOC, the TOC would reload. This seems like it would be annoying to our users. Is there any way to fix this? I don't see the same thing when using the Responsive preset.
When my published web help is viewed on smaller screen devices such as mobile phones or tablet or half screen on laptops, the logo is cut off (see attached screenshots).Any suggestions how to fix this so the logo adjusts on the header and is viewable on all devices?Judy
I was told by Adobe Tech Support that the size of the Title font in the Skin's Header could not be changed NOR could the Header height. If this is not true, how can they be configured.I also understood from the Adobe Tech Support that you cannot configure the Header Title's position in the Skin Header. If I wanted to move it to the right for example, how would this be done?I have Logo jpeg that is 200 px width and 31 px height (I of course can make it smaller - e.g. 150 px X23 px). The header is 60 px. I am not sure what size I should configure the Logo Width. When I tried configuring it as large, smaller or the exact size of the jpeg logo, it distorted or didn't fit into the space before the Header Title. How can I make the Logo jpeg be displayed properly in the skin header?
I installed a logo to a Master page: but it is not applied to any of my topic pages in the Author mode at all:After I created several outputs, I noticed that, for example a PDF has such a view:In MS HTML Help ans Responsive HTML5 outputs everything is ok.What is going on? Why don't I see the logo in the Author mode? And why the logo is crashed in PDF output?
I realize this is an old thread, but I am trying to figure out how to convert an ePublisher WebHelp project to RoboHelp. (I wanted to avoid creating a new thread if my question was already answered.) I tried to import the HTML files from the WebHelp project using Import > HTML File, but nothing happened. My screen stayed blank when selecting all the HTML files in the project. I'm using the trial version of RH2020 to play around and see what changes will be required when I upgrade my Tech Comm Suite.
