I renamed a repurposed RH Manual to the proper name by changing the xpj file name. When I opened the project, all of my links were broken and when I try to repair the breaks, the project cannot see all the htm files in the folder. I cannot even rebuild my TOC because it is not pointing to the folder where the htm folders reside now. How can I fix this?
Does anyone know how to edit the spacing after the headings?
I need to insert Notes/tips in a formatted box with a different color. Is there a way to do that rather than inserting "text boxes'?
Hi everyone,Question for all you wise people:I have a FM2019 book with conditional text applied to some topics. The Frame book is linked to a RH Classic 2019 project. After importing the FM content into RH, the conditions are also imported with the topics. In RH I have created build expressions to exclude some content from the output. When I generate the output I get weird results:The topics appear in the TOC even though they should not.The topics are empty.Seems that RH is excluding the content from the build but not excluding the topics from the TOC. From the RH 2019 Classic user guide p283:Table of contents: A TOC book or page that is linked to an excluded topic doesn’t appear inthe Contents pane. What am I doing wrong? Thanks
While investigating how to embed videos in a completely GDPR-compliant way, I couldn't find a good way to set it up to open a resizeable window. It should open in a new browser window or tab but without the whole UI shebang - that's not possible with just adding target="_blank" to the <a href="...">. And the pop-up feature in RoboHelp doesn't create a resizeable video either. This is what we want to create: Just a placeholder (a classic <a> link based on text or on a thumbnail image) in a topic (not the RoboHelp standard video embedding or a <video> tag); the link would contain the video ID on YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com).From that link, the video player should pop up in a predefined size which must be easily resizeable. That's mandatory for our kind of videos: users need to adapt the video's content to their needs depending on how large their display is and how small the details in the videos are (like text in a software screencast). Most of ou
Can somone tell me what are the common gotchas which might lead to the style font vanishing in building a CHM help file? Specifically, my google font is replaced with Times New Roman. The font is on the build PC; I thought that was all that was needed for CHM builds. As it happens, the fonts are in the project anyway, because I have been doing some research into moving to a more modern output format. That looks like it's coming to nothing, for reasons outside of my control. One way or another I'd have thought Robohelp has what it needs to package the font properly. This has worked before but doesn't now and I can't see why.
For the time being, I'll assume that everything I'm unhappy with is my fault :-} but when I start from a FrameMaker book and generate Responsive HTML5 there are quite a few things that have me raising my eyebrows in surprise. Can someone recommend an online walkthrough/tutorial/introduction?
Hi all,I have a problem with the substring search in the HTML5 output. I am using RH2019.0.12 new UI, but the problem also occured with update 11. The search settings for my output are as follows:Use topic description = trueEnable auto complete = trueAuto correct search query = falseShow definitions from glossary = trueEnable substring search = trueAdd special characters for search = falseGenerate XML sitemap = false In my output, I have several topics containing the word "Primäreinzelkosten". If I search for "primär", I only get results containing exactly the word "primär", but not the "primäreinzelkosten". If I search for "primä", I get no results at all. If I search for "prim", I get all topics containing "primär", "primäreinzelkosten" and "primrose" or whatever. So the substring search seems to have a problem with the "ä". The substring search works as expected for example when searching for topics containing the word "Kostenblock". They are found whether I search for "koste",
I need to import PDFs as PDFs (not as RH files) into a frameless project I am trying to create. These PDFs need to be searchable (i.e., if a user searches for a key word or concept, the portal should be able to deliver search results by browsing through all available PDFs on my site). How do I make this happen? I understand importing PDFs is not an option in Robohelp 2019 as yet - that I can only link PDFs. Can a global search run through all the 'linked' PDFs? I attempted to 'bring in' PDFs using the Assets folder (former Baggage folder?). Now how do I set up links so that these PDFs are viewed in the output? How and where do I create these relative links? Please add 'Import PDF' option as a feature request in Robohelp 2019.
If I include the TOC in a Word export, when you open the destination Word document you get a dialog, 'This document contains fields that may refer to other files. Do you want to update the fields in this document?' which builds the ToC.It's not a big deal to open the document, accept the prompt and save but for a large document (almost 1000 pages) it takes a while. Is that expected and is there any way to automate this step? Secondly; is it possible to locate the Table of Contents somewhere other than right at the start of the output? I'd like to have a title page first which I can probably acheive with a Word template but the more I can do in RH, the better.Thanks.
I have a responsive html5 output, works perfectly as expected. Even the search works on both Chrome and IE.Today I just added a small not in a table that says, To download the Release Notes click here and linked click here to a PDF that resides in a folder in the project. The download also works fine. Now, if I search for the keywords Release Notes, it says results not found. If I search the word download, it searches and displays the results with a yellow highlight...very strange. Why whould it not search the term Release Notes?
I am using a responsive html output and only one of my index entries is displaying.
When I export to PDF all my topics start on a new page. Can I change this? In the word output preset there is an option that allows you to configure whether or not you want all the topics to start on a new page. There is no option like this in the pdf output. All the topics in my project are H1. But I want them like this for the responsive html output. If I output to Word, the TOC displays as a flat list of topics because all my topics are H1.
I am facing the same issue. We have purchased Robohelp2019 licence in Dec 2019 and Indigo skin came with the tool. Even after creating another Indigo layout from the Gallery, the search feature is not working. Not working on both, my local machine and on the server.
I gave the new UI a go when RH2019 first came out and very quickly moved back to Classic as I was having no end of problems (one of the original ones was that most of my imports would simply crash RH). My use case is to condition new projects by importing Word documents and then generating responsive HTML5 output (with little to no manual manipulation of the RH files after import). With the active updates to RH2019 (now at update 12) I thought I'd go back and give this another try. I don't seem to run into the crashes anymore but I see several immediate effects that I haven't been able to quickly resolve. I'm posting them here in case others might have suggestions on how to mitigate them. One reason I'd like to move to the new UI eventually is to leverage the added scripting capability (ideally I'd like to automate most of the import to HTML5 process since 99% of it is well-defined/repeatable). To start, I configure the import as follows: start new topics from Heading 1/2 sty
Do you know how to do to have my content table open when I generate my output in Responsive html 5 ?or RB 2017?
Do you know aht I have to do or have an file to update my Robohelp 2017 to open my multiscreen html5 output with microft edge for windows 10?
In RH 2019 New UI, if I try to add an index entry to a topic, it can take a couple of minutes for the field to become responsive. I can literally click in the field, type my entry, go fix a cup of coffee, come back, and then watch the letters appear in the field. At first, i thought RH had died again, but I later learned that it was just very slow. -- and now I got another of the Application died, click Help, Restart Application messages...I hope it finishes the Open Project - Reading Files soon, but I've got a bad feeling....and I exited out two hours later.
The technical specs doesnt mention Windows 2016 server. It mentioned Windows 10, 8.1, and 7. Can RH 2017 be installed on Windows 2016 server?
Hello, I am using RH 2019 with all updates.I have created a new Indigo skin and tweaked colors for branding. I notice that the latest Indigo skin includes Expand/Collapse All, Remove Highlight, and Print icons when viewing topics. However, Indigo also includes Breadcrumbs on the same sub navigation bar. If you drill down several layers into a topic, the Breadcrumbs run long and end up covering those great new buttons. I know the answer probably lies in the CSS of which, I know very little and would probably do more harm than good. My manager has asked me to determine if I can adjust the Indigo skin to do one or both of the following:1. Split the Breadcrumbs and buttons into two separate sub-navigation bars (two lines)?or2. Hopefully much easier, reduce the font size and spacing of the Breadcrumbs that are in Indigo skin.See picture. Many thanks in advance. PS. I did spend a better part of the afternoon looking for similar topics in the forum but the
I created a Robohelp project with a Frameless preset and Orange skin (tailored to my requirements). I have 4 topics in it. When I generate a frameless output, I see only one TOC tile on the Home page (instead of the 4 I should see for the number of topics I have). When I click on this single TOC tile, it takes me to a second Home page that displays all the tiles. What did I set up incorrectly? If I look at the Skin Preview for the Home Page, I see the multiple TOC tiles. But upon generating the output, only one TOC tile displays. Similar output using the Oceanic Blue skin did not create this problem. Any pointers would be appreciated. (I am using Robohelp 2019.0.12).
I have a) a lot of DITA content; b) the chance to get hold of RTH2019. To start finding out about the landscape, I headed off to Lynda-as-was and went through the RH2015 course. All very promising! but then I tried to find information on reusing my DITA content in RH2019: no luck.Simple question: does RH2019 let me import DITA topics?
Hi All - I am in the final stages of completing my help manual. We are testing it on internal sites before we roll it out to clients. The only issue that is keeping me from publishing it to our clients is the predictive search. If a user searches for a term and selects one of the suggested options, the application populates the side search menu but just loads forever (screenshot below). If they select the search icon (magnify glass) to search again, the results load. If they close the side search menu and search again, the results load. I cannot figure out why they are not loading with the initial search? We are on Robohelp version: 13.0.2.334I am using the Indigo Layout and downloaded the updated file from the Adobe website when I started the project.
HiI have modified a few properties in the .CSS file of my project by directly editing the .CSS file. Upon generating a Frameless output the online help displays the page as per the changes made. But I have noticed that if I make any further changes to the .CSS file either from the UI or directly on the .CSS file, the changes made earlier seems to be removed from the .CSS file. It looks like Robohelp2019 does not save the changes made directly to the .CSS file. For example, I added a box-shadow property to the inner search box in the Home Page by editing the .CSS file (not from the UI) and the output display as per the change made. If I make any other change to the .CSS file and generate an output, the box-shadow is not displayed. The .CSS file reverts to the previous state without the box-shadow property. This issue occurs only if I make modifications directly to the .CSS file. Any changes made from the UI are saved and works as expected.
I have RoboHelp 2015 and I'm currently using the WebHelp output. I don't know if what I want to accomplish is possible with this application and output, but here is my question.Currently my WebHelp output displays a very small text size if viewed on a large monitor. The example I was given was a 27" monitor that has a high pixel count. The user wants to know if the help file can scale the text size based on pixel density. I don't see any options to do this using the RoboHelp 2015 application, but maybe there is a way to manually edit the .css file? Also, is this possible with the ResponsiveHTML output type? Or is it possible with RoboHelp 2019?Thanks to anyone who can respond and explain this to me! 🙂
