Not sure where I'm going wrong here.Recently upgraded RH 2017 projects to the new 2019. The 2017 project had css with OL, UL, and LI styles set up. Example CSS is below. This has copied over to my new 2019 project OK in the CSS. But when applying these styles it is not applying the CSS in the same way in 2019 and as such my styles are not formatted. I've tried to create new styles in RH2019 but there is a li-rad_normal style being applied which just does not exist in my style sheet. But I can't understand why this is being applied at all.Any ideas?2017 CSS and 2019 CSS for respective styles. Both exactly the same.OL {margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 0px;}UL {margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 0px;}li.Number {font-family: Calibri;font-size: 11pt;list-style: decimal;line-height: Normal;margin-bottom: 6px;margin-top: 6px;}p.Rad_Normal {margin-bottom: 0pt;line-height: Normal;text-align: justify;}li.Bullet {list-style: disc;font-family: Calibri;font-size: 11pt;}Example HTML from 2017 project where
!Hi there expertsWhen I generate an HTML5 output from my project (Migrated from RH 2017, Currently running R 2019.0.7, Migration was done on RH 2019.0.5) I noticed that not all my files are being exported to the output folder.I use the onclick event in my pages as n have multiple tabs on a page. The initial first page will be displayed without any problems, but as soon as I select any of the other tabs / onclick events I receive a make sure the web address //ieframe.dll/dnserrordiagoff.htm# is correct , I then selected the page properties to see if the link is actually correct, the path to the page is correct, but the page dos not exist in the folder.A typical layout would be test_c.htm and In test_c.htm I will use the onclick event to link to test_p.htm and test_r.htm to open them.Any Help would be appreciated
I've converted my RH17 project to RH19.The mini TOC doesn't seem to work in 19. Is this something that Adobe is still working on?There doesn't seem to be an option to collapse, selecting "Show TOC in expanded form" doesn't do anythingWhy are the entries truncated? Is there another way I can manage the mini-toc?I've included screenshots.
Hello! I am a longtime user of RoboHelp (since 2000) and am embarrassed to admit that I am really struggling with the new RH 2019 redesign in a number of areas.Today, I wanted to output to Word (which I knew was removed as an output), so I decided to try to output to PDF and then convert it to Word. When I generate PDF as an output, I did not see any setting about maintaining links. My generated PDF shows the links embedded in my topics (they are blue and underlined in the PDF), but they do not work. Am I missing a setting somewhere? Also, I thought I saw in one of the RoboHelp Reimagined videos that RH 2019 could output to ODF, but I cannot find that in the software (and can't find the darn video again!). That may be a better way for me to get to Word.If you are wondering why I want a Word output, it is because in addition to generating multiple HTML5 outputs using conditional build tags/build expressions for many audiences, I also output a Word document for each audience/product
We continue to evaluate the RoboHelp 2019. We currently use RoboHelp 2017 and occasionally RH 2011 (don't ask).We will need to work on certain projects in RoboHelp 2017 even if we upgrade. Can our older projects continue in RoboHelp 2017?I emailed the Adobe accounts development manager with this question and he said "Adobe Licensing Policy does not allow you to access the older versions."I don't know if I agree. I sense that if I open the old project in RoboHelp 2019, yes, I cannot revert back to the older version. But I do believe that multiple versions can coexist as long as I do not open a legacy project in RH2019.Can anyone let me know what their experience has been after upgrading?
Hi,I'm using RH 2019 Classic to edit merged CHM files. They have a lot of field level help "popup" topics that I don't want to include in the search as they don't contain useful information if viewed out of context. These are one line mini topics with no header or footer, just text that is shown when the user clicks on a field in the end product. However, when I set the individual topics to "Exclude topic from search" in the Topic Properties, they still show in the search after compilation. Is there something I'm missing? I need them to be in the CHM they are in now, just not visible in search. I can't put them into another CHM as this product is over 30 years old, and no-one wants to do the work to move them I just want RH to do what is says it's doing. As you can see, the topic is shown in the search results. (I'm aware the topic title is Deactivate, but Activate is the actual topic content. Don't ask, I didn't write it!)Thanks,Nicola
I have project that has a large number of unused files. Since there is only the ability to view them in RoboHelp, I was wondering if anyone found a better way to delete them other than selecting and deleting them piecemeal in Windows Explorer? Thanks for any suggestions!
We use auto-sizing popup link frequently in our online help. They work correctly using the WebHelp format, a format we are moving away from, but I've noticed that they don't open correctly when we generate the content using our Indigo-based HTML5 Responsive Layout, at least not in Chrome or Firefox. By the way, the application the help is written for is currently only supported in Chrome. Hence my trying to resolve this issue with that browser. I'm using RoboHelp 2019 Classic (Update 7).When I click a link using the auto-sizing popup, it opens as shown below:If I configure the link to open as a custom-sized popup that works, see below.Has anyone else experienced this? This seems like a bug to me.
I converted two projects from RoboHelp 10 to RoboHelp 2019.0.7. Both (one has ~1000 topics and the other ~130 topic) converted fine. However, the WebHelp output on the 130-topic project duplicates itself in the right window pane, as shown below. The only difference between the two projects is that the one having difficulty does not have a Glossary. And I did remove it from the Output. As a side note, I'm able to create WebHelp successfully for the problem project using RoboHelp Classic, and so that's what I'm doing in the interim.Any ideas? Many thanks.
For starters, thanks to all that have responded to my questions. My project is looking great in RH 2019!I have an ongoing project where I need to import a Word document. Each topic in word is created into a topic in RH.I manually create a RoboHelp topic that I call "Welcome!" that includes the version of the project and a link to a PDF with the imported Word content.I'd like to not have to create this same topic in every RH project. Is there a way to save the Welcome!.htm from Project A, for example, and insert it in Project B?I understand that I'll still need to manually link the PDF, but it would be nice if I could repurpose this topic.
When I generate the Responsive HTML5 Output, sometimes all the tabs (Table of Contents, Indexd, Glossary, Filter, and Search), Previous button, and Next button don't appear in the output. Why it happens and how to fix it? Any idea? I am using RH17.Also, during the generation of the output, I see this message:When I check the usersettings.js file, all the four variables are available in the file. So, I am not sure. What's going on!
Hi, In RH 2015, does anyone know if you can auto-wrap the text when adding content in the Design tab and your zoom is over 100%? I have a hard time seeing the text when writing in the Design tab, but if I zoom to enlarge the text over 100%, my text no longer wraps in the Design area and it's hard to read/follow. Is there a solution to this? Thanks,Lori
CHM file displays an error for TOC Book page. It displays an error as, Can’t reach this page. I tried to associate specific file to these books using source functionality, while creating TOC. But, still it displays the same error.Could you please assist in this?
I am having troubles with generating the TOC from Word. It is adding a bunch of periods and also cutting off the last word or two in every single topic, of which there are hundreds. Anyone know why this is happening?
Hi All, I have a nice application help made in a Website like structure, one index.html linked to other files, images (arranged in different folders) and so on. It has 500+ pages and multilevel navigation. Works fine, when integrated to the application, or when viewed in a browser by clicking the index.html. Now, that we want to move to an IDE, to have a better authoring environment. We have taken RH 10. I am now faced with some problems during the migration. I will appreciate if somebody can help me out here. My questions are: 1. Is there a way to import the index.html into RH and all the linked pages (of the website structure) as it is into RH 10. This will save a lot of work. Instead of creating a TOC and linking all the pages one by one. Asking for too much here . Just in case, it is possible. 2. Now if the first scenario has failed, and I manually created the TOC structure, what is the best way to import the HTML pages (with images). Do I need to re-link all the images in the Robo
Hello,We have run into a publishing issue. Here is the error message.Publishing has been cancelled. You can’t connect to the file share because it’s not secure. This share requires the obsolete SMB1 protocol, which is unsafe and could expose your system to attack. Your system requires SMB2 or higher. For more info on resolving this issue, see:https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=852747We are running RoboHelp 11Windows 10 Enterprise8 Gig RAM64-bitOur company is upgrading to the newest version of Windows 10, and it is not letting us publish to our folder on our server. Is there a patch for the SMB 1 and SMB 2 issue for RoboHelp 11?
Hi, I am generating the output using HTML5 Layout for my French project. I am able to see some tooltip appears translated and some appears in English. I would like to understand which file controls these tooltip strings such that we can manually fix it or guide the translators to translate it. Any thoughts?
Hello,My department is planning on moving all of our websites to WordPress this year, and one of our help sites lives in RoboHelp. I would like to know, if possible, how to move a RoboHelp project to WordPress. Has anyone had success doing this? What would be involved? I've searched the forums for an answer, but learned the information out there (specifically what is on "I'd Rather be Writing") is out of date. Is there any up to date information on this? Thanks so much in advance. Thanks,Steven
Hi,How can we change the native resolution of the HTML5 publications? We have found an issue with Chrome. Some words are bugged with the Search but if we change the resolution (only 1%), everything is working fine again.
I previously set up a set of external content search items that would return names/links to videos in search results of a help system (when users entered terms like 'video' in the search field, for example). The URL's associated with the videos use a redirect system value (our company has a database where I assign a URL to the redirect value). When I try to run those links from the search panel results, I get a browser php error message of file not found. Those same URL's are used successfully in other spots of my help system such as the table of contents. In those spots, the links succeed in running their destination URL -- in this case, the applicable video. The only way I can get the videos to run from search results tied to external content search items is if I don't use the RDI version of their URL. Anyone else use redirects in their URL's and have them function okay in the framework of search results and external content search? I want to be able to use the RDI version to aid in t
I've created a responsive HTML5 project using RH 2017 and my company is looking into adding a chat bot to the help. We are experimenting with Microsoft Q+A to compile the chat bot. Is it possible to plug in the chat bot to my RH project? Or, if I can't do it with Microsoft's Q+A, is there a different chat bot software we can use that is compatible with RH 2017?
Hello everyone! We have a pretty big project with over 4000+ topics and over 12 publications divided with multiple tags.We are using RH2017 (last update done) and we use customised Azure HTML 5 layout. The HTML5 is running well and is fantastic. However, we've seen some rather disturbing issues with the search tool in HTML5 layouts. Here is a peek of the issues we've found and were not able to correct. Some words won't be considered when searched without quotation marks(We don't use quotation marks anymore since the highlight is broken and this may result with errors for our users. See this tread : Re: Issue with the HTML5 layout - Search is brokenWithoutAndNotOrWithSome symbols are not valid searched "string"The problem is that we use some of them pretty often. It happens only if the symbol is not attached to a word. E.g.: J&R is valid - J & R is invalidThey are valid if searched between Qutation marks!, “, /, $, %, ? , &, *, ( , ), -, +, @, #, ±, =, <, >, {, }, ;, :, ~,
Hello,I would like to ask if it is possible to generate a responsive HTML5 output and the search option enables to display highlighted searched word in different topic ?Thank you for your support,Greetings,
Hi,Recently we upgraded to RoboHelp 2019 Classic. We are using the help for Web pages - HTML/JavaScript and we call RH_ShowHelp in RoboHelp_CSH.js to open context sensitive help. Before upgrading to new 2019 version, the context specific help window used to open in a new popup, but now it opens in a new tab instead.I compared the RoboHelp_CSH.js 2109 with older version (2008) and found insertDataDiv() function is missing in the latest version. If I restore function insertDataDiv() and function loadData(sFileName) from 2008 version RoboHelp_CSH.js, its works fine and opens in a new popup.I am calling : function RH_ShowHelp(hParent, a_pszHelpFile, uCommand, dwData) from my web pages. If anyone has any idea how to make the help window open in a popup instead of a new tab without modifying RoboHelp_CSH.js, please respond.Thanks.
We are moving to RH 2019 from RH 2017 and plan to initially use RH 2019 Classic until our users have the time to learn the new RH interface. We are also moving to TFS 2017 from TFS 2013. The RoboHelp 2019 documentation for configuring TFS Collaborate using Team Foundation Server appears to apply to the newer RH because it refers to the newer .rhpj project file, not the Classic .xpj project file. Assuming RH 2019 Classic works with TFS 2017, how does one configure it? Appreciate any assistance you can provide.
