One feature I like about RH in the few times I'm using it (I'm a mere casual user of it thus my sometime trivial questions )is the feature that one can drag and drop images frpm the paste buffer into the Design/HTML preview window. This makes it easy to generate documentation from a screen capture program (like "SnagIt"), especially when pages already exist with images and the images have to be updated.Say you have a page with an embedded image<p class="Bild"><img src="../../image02.gif" style="border: none;" alt="" border="0" /></p>After the paste of the image from the paste buffer, RH obviously creates a new image and changes the HTML to refer to the new image.<p class="Bild"><img src="../../image63.gif" style="border: none;" alt=""
Hello,I am using RoboHelp 2015 and Windows 7.When generating printed documentation, two blank lines separate topics, as seen in the picture below:I am wondering if it's possible to make that space smaller? I've already tried adjusting Before/After paragraphs to 0 in RoboHelp and Word for those styles.Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Hello,While i am generating responsive html 5 output using azure blue layout the filter icon is not getting displayed.Regards,Richa Arora
Hello. Is it at all possible to somehow export or retrieve MS Word output from RoboHelp 2015 other than the standard generate Output > Printed Documentation > MS Word? At my job, my teams needs MS Word version of our RoboHelp project content; however, the standard method cannot be used due to macros being disabled for security reasons. Simply copy-pasting test from RH to word can be tedious, so are there other ways? Thank you. My research cannot seem to locate other ways .
Hi all,I've used RoboScreenCapture extensively in caputring web application screen shots for my webhelp pages. However, I'll be creating another manual soon that will require smaller sized versions of screen shots, both as a preference by my co-workers and to minimize space and topic length. Does anyone know of a good way to accomplish this and still maintain quality images?I've tried editing and resizing, but the resolution becomes distored. Thanks!
I am running Tech Comm Suite 2017 on a Windows 10 machine. To generate WebHelp, I am using RH (within Tech Comm Suite 2017). The default browser for my company is Chrome. In Chrome (v. 63.x), the default topic opened but the TOC was unresponsive. The WebHelp properly ran in Firefox and IE11.I had done some research on the Adobe Forums and found an edit to the whthost.js file that Peter Grainge suggested (with the blessing of Adobe). See ToC books not opening in Chrome . I made that change but to no avail. I also looked at this forum item, Re: ToC books not opening in Chrome . I don't know whether any of my files are corrupted.I found an update to TCS so I ran that. When I again generated the WebHelp, the tab flickered and the main window remained blank in not just Chrome but also Firefox and IE11.I copied the output into a folder at C:\a_RH_Projects_Output in case the path was too long for the browsers to cope with. Now, the WebHelp again properly runs in IE11 and Firefox but the
Hello,I'm using Robohelp 2015. I have created WebHelp output using Orb skin. When I view the help in Chrome, most updated version, the links in the TOC work. However, if I click on a hyperlink within a topic's content, then the links in the TOC no longer work. I do not remember this happening before. Thanks,Mdawn
I have been generating my help files as a CHM for years. However, last week, when I generated an updated CHM (using RH 10 and Win10 Enterprise), it wouldn't open in the host environment, as it has for years. However, it will open in a browser. Any idea how to resolve this? Thanks!
I am attempting to use Printed Documentation with RoboHelp from the Adobe Tech Comm Suite 2015 and get a message that the wrong version of Word is installed and needs to be Word 2000 or later. I have Word 2016. I looked at some old responses to this issue and downloaded the service packs for RH 2015. When running .exe, I get a message that the Application Manager may be damaged, so I downloaded that. After all that, I still get the same message about the wrong version of Word.I am trying to create PDF of the WebHelp to send to a client. .Thanks for any suggestions.
Hi everyone, I am looking for some help with a new install of TechComm Suite 2017 please, in particular RoboHelp 2017. My full install does not recognize Word 2013 or a more recent new install of Word 2016 (Full Office 365 install). I am operating the latest update of Win10 with the 32 bit install of Word (both versions). I have checked file associations and everything I can see in the forums for similar problems with RoboHelp 2015. I cannot export to printed documents because RoboHelp 2017 cannot find Word on my computer. I have also found that I cannot link a Word file and sync the content, but I can import content from a Word document. I have tried this with and without Word running. After 2 hours with Adobe Support they tell me that it must be my system and that I should try to reproduce the issue on another computer. Am I meant to be doing the tech support for them? They could only export to Word if they use
Hey all,I'm building content for two distinct workflows within a single software application. One workflow has little to do with the other and each is applies to a very distinct user base. There is a little content overlap, so to maintain consistency and reduce the number of files I've created one project with two conditions (one per workflow) and one build per condition. However, when I build content that is tagged for the other condition is returned search -- since this content is excluded with the build tags I assumed it would not be included. I can't exclude the topics from search because I need to search it when I'm building for the other condition. Is there a solution to this problem or do I just have to create two separate RoboHelp projects? (Hopefully not the latter since it sort of defeats part of the purpose of having RoboHelp in the first place!).Thanks in advance for any advice!
Hi,I added a favicon.ico to my responsive layout (azure blue) and it does not display in IE10 or IE11. It displays correctly in Chrome.I used the photoshop plug-in to create the ico file, so I know it's good and I used the RH layout settings to add it.I'm also viewing the document locally (both in Chrome and IE), this is where the customer sees it (not on a server). Everything I find online suggests that the ico file won't display in IE locally. Has anyone come across this and can confirm "local" is the problem here? I've been working on this issue for 2 days - trying a million things!RH2017 13.0.0.257Thank you!
I just thought I'd let people know something I've discovered. If you open HTML5 (responsive or multiscreen) from a local disk or network share in Chrome, the table of contents, index and glossary don't display if you block third-party cookies. This doesn't affect HTML5 opened from a webserver.Hope this helps someone in future. Or if you know how to add the local disk or network share to the exceptions list, please share.
Hi all!Does anyone know of a way to hide the TOC for the landing page only? I'd like to do this without having to create a master and child project. Thank you in advance!Joe C.
After upgrading to TCS 5 the new RH 11 cannot find my installed MS Word applications. How do I tell RoboHelp where to look for them? The Adobe help did not give me a clue, since the information for editing the regedit are not up-to-date.I'm no programmer, just a simple techwriter.TIA
HiI am generating a file as Word using Printed Documentation. However the word file has duplicated the topics and content so they appear twice instead of once.I can't find the cause of it.I'm using RH 2017.Any ideas how I can resolve this problem?Kind regardsMessage was edited by Peter Grainge. RoboHelp 17 does not exist. Describing RoboHelp 2017 can make it more difficult for people searching for answers. Also I have moved the thread. RoboHelp for Word is an old program that no longer ships. You are using RoboHelp to produce a Word document, not the same thing.
I have some Storyline videos that I need to embed in a RoboHTML project. When I embed it using an iframe, it plays in preview, but not when published and uploaded to my website. My output in Storyline is HTML5 but I do not want to output using Flash as it is not supported in all browsers now. Can anyone provide suggestions on how I can embed these Storyline videos within my Robohelp project? Thanks!
Hi everybody,I just want to know if there is a way to do a modification in a topic but don't want to apply it right now and make this modification active for a future date. We have a lot of content and updates coming for different moment. As an example:Today i receive a modification for my topic A that needs to be effective for 2018-11, but tomorrow i receive another modification for the topic B that needs to be effective immediately. I don't want to have the modification of the topic A published before the right moment but i need to do it in advance to not lost track of modifications that are coming in.The best way i've found is to add a conditional tag for the content not the appear and the day that i need to add it, just remove the tag. This seems to me unproductive because i need to keep track and to do a step manually for each topic. If anybody have a better way or know a functionnality of Robohelp that i didn't found, please let me know.Thank you very much
What does it mean, when is book in the TOC view is marked green as shown?--Christoph
Hello,Can we handle such a scenario by using any properties in RH?We have a responsive help output: http://help.ipaddress.com/productname/page.htmWe have 2 clients Client A and Client B.Client A should view Topic 1 through Topic 20.Client B should view Topic 1 through Topic 20, except, Topic 7 and Topic 13.Challenge: We have a static help URL that is common to all viewers/users. Is it possible to filter content based on the client and topic?Any suggestions/pointers would be helpful.
What it says on the box - has anyone managed to integrate Zoom in the Charcoal Grey responsive layout in RH 2017? I read through Peter Grainge's instructions for Indigo (Zoom in RoboHelp) but that particular skin doesn't work for the kind of help we are delivering. I know it's not a trivial thing, but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask.
I have published a previous project and created a new project. The new project has a default topic. FOr the other topics I am redirecting it to the previous project. The TOC and index of the new projects is pointing (using URL) to the former project. But when i compile the webhelp, search tab appears blank. The objective is to search the keywords from the URL links. Please advice.
How to I Expand ALL and Collapse ALL drop-down dropdown text.Doesn't RoboHelp have any method to allow all drop-down text links to expand ALL, or collapse ALL. There are times were uses want to view all content, rather than being forced to click to open each category.
I have a script for webtrends tracking that I need to add to my master page header in RoboHelp 2015. The script does not have "https:" or "http:". It simply has "//www.abc.ca..." and it is supposed to automatically pick up both http and https. Unfortunately after I enter in the script and save the master page, RoboHelp automatically adds "file:" to the front of the "//www.abc.ca..". As soon as this happens, both the tracking does not work and the page becomes unbearably slow as it is trying to find a file that does not exist.Anyone seen this behavior before? Ideas on how I can overwrite the automatic script edit that the program is doing?
Hi all, Using RoboHelp 2015, HTML5 output. TOC font renders very tiny. Appears normal in Chrome and even Explorer (gasp). Any idea why this is happening or how to resolve?
