I ran into an issue that folks had previously reported already for RH11 (see RH 11 cmd line: Error: Failed to scan all the project files. Unexpected Error: Failed to prepare single sourceMy project generates the configured SSLs just fine from within the RH2015 GUI. I migrated the project from RH11 when the command line still worked. Migrating to RH2015 gave me a lot of hassle but I eventually got it working. Now, my last hurdle to overcome is getting the command line build to work.The error on the command line simply states. It pretty much occurs right away:Error: Failed to scan all the project files. Please use RoboHelp to recover the project.Unexpected Error: Failed to prepare single source data for RHCL. Please try to compile it in RoboHelp.I have not yet tried the recommendation from the linked discussion where people suggested to verify each and every .FPJ file and make sure it's consistent with the file system. Hello,We are considering upgrading from RH 2015 to RH 2017, and I have started our trial period. It looks to me like it stresses HTML5, but we've been using Web Help for our output SSL. I see a couple of advantages to 2017, such as installing entire folders into the baggage files folder and having the option to use thumbnails for images, etc., but are there really any significant advantages to upgrading?Also, I've noticed that the .css files sit in the Project Files folder along with the topics. How do I import a .css file?

I originally had a few topics synced to an external folder at a shared location.  I no longer wanted to sync the topics, so I deleted them from Resource Manager.  A blue sync icon remains on each topic in Project Manager.  Not sure if this means the topics still have sync properties. What is the process for 'un'syncing a topic?

We are using RH 2017 version control with three users. This morning one of the users noticed that all the topics he has created have been removed from version control. The folders are still there but they are empty (except for a .css file) and it is the same for the project on our local machines (all three). Has anyone else experience this? What would cause the files to be deleted w/o any of us specifically deleting them? We are currently working with IT to retrieve the files from our daily backup and hopefully that will be successful, but knowing the cause would be extremely useful.

Hi guys,I'm new to Robohelp and i'm looking to change the destination folder where the images are saved after adding them to a subject. They are all saved in my general project folder but the view of my project manager is very bad if i have hundreds of them saved there.Thank you for your help

Hello,I use RoboHelp 2017 with update 2 installed. I generate and integrate Web Help with the applicationI recently noticed that on Google Chrome browser (latest version) the context sensitive help works seamlessly.On IE, the context sensitive help launches correctly but the search does not work.The version of IE that I use is: 11.0.9600.18537By search does not work, I mean that the under the search tab when I type a rod and try to click the Go button, the button shows unclickable. Nothing happens on a click.I recently installed update 2. Is it because of this?Has anyone come across such an issue?

Hello! I have a WebHelp project that I'm currently getting Google Analytics data on (yay for Master Pages!), but can't figure out how to get Site Search Tracking to work within the pages. I've tried multiple query parameters (rhsearch,s,r) but it's not recording anything. Am I missing something here as it has worked fine in the past on HTML5 projects? Is this a limitation to WebHelp only? If so, is there a workaround (or another search product we should be using)?Thank you in advance!

I've recently upgraded from TCS1 to TCS4. I generate WebHelp output and have had no problems before the upgrade. Previously, opening context-sensitive help topics would open in the same browser window as the general help. That is, when a user selects Help>Contents, the entire help opens in a browser window. Then, when the user is on a specific page of the application and wants to see the help for that particular page, pressing F1 would open that particular help topic in the same browser window. Now, though, after the upgrade, whenever a user presses F1 the help first opens in a browser window. The security warning comes up, and after clicking "Allow", the help topic opens in a second browser window. The first browser window is still there, but blank. This is new behavior, since before the upgrade it wouldn't do that. The help topic would open in the same browser window. This is what I need to happen now, but don't know where this is accomplished. I recently imported a WebHelp project from version 10 to 17 and it's been a total nightmare.  I have almost 10,000 broken links that I've been repairing manually because I was told this was the only way.  That aside... Somehow my index completely disappeared the other day.  I looked in the directory and the hhk files listed were almost empty (1 KB).  I pulled an hhk from backup and copied it in the appropriate directory and I can now access my index when I am in RoboHelp.  However... there are now thousands of random urls listed (see snippit below).  They start with chm and then list part of my htm topic page names... or they only list half of the topic page name in some weird order.  It wouldn't really matter if they only appeared under the url folder... but when I try to search using the binoculars they all come up as choices and this gets frustrating.  Can someone let me know where these reside so I can go delete anything that doesn't start wi

A real weird one here. I was inserting two <meta name> and one script src line into my <head> section, in order to setup Webtrends. Three issues are coming up:After I write the code and go to save the page, the script src coding is automatically moved from the spot I want it to be in (directly below <meta name="WT.ti"...> and is placed right above </head>.Also, robohelp has automatically added 'file:' to the front of the script src line.When I generate the html5 output the generating itself is very slow AND when it is done the actual live page is slow to load as well.I believe #3 is because of #2, but I cannot find a way to manually override this robohelp automation!Any help would be much appreciated! Hi, I have Adobe Communication Suite 2017 installed on my machine. We have a project in Robohelp and now are required to create videos for the same project. Can the RoboHelp files be single-sourced to create the videos? Since both RoboHelp and Captivate are included in the Adobe Communication Suite which is installed on my machine, probably this is possible. Will be great if you could please guide on how this can be done.Regards,Pankaja

Hi there, is there any chance I can limit the items shown on the homepage TOC?I know I can change the number of items shown in one row. Hello all,Similar to the "Search not displaying results in IE11 if built from RH2017" question I found on here, having an issue on IE 11 only when trying to perform a search on files, but this ONLY happens when using the Webhelp project that has been loaded to Sharepoint.  We have one we can run off the network that runs search fine but the Sharepoint one from IE 11, no results are displayed.  When run from Sharepoint on Chrome, search works fine.  And this was built with RH 2017, and oddly our last build of the same project with RH 11 does not have the same issue on Sharepoint.I don't know if anyone on here knows Sharepoint well enough, could the discussion from the thread mentioned above also impact some Sharepoint setting that means the search won't function if run via Sharepoint on IE 11??  Or might it be related to script errors I also saw in the HTML5 forum with issues with search results??Thanks,- Victoria

HiI am creating a mobile app from RH11. In this, I have a ToC button at the bottom which is working fine. However, the client is now asking for words/ images to be hyperlinked to the ToC as well. When the user clicks that word / image they should be taken to the ToC page from where they can navigate through the course as usual.Is this possible? If yes, how? ThanksSreekanth

Is there a way to edit css file so that my default desktop TOC/Search pane width is a little wider?  I've tried editing several elements in CSS, but to no avail. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to export a map file in .hh format, but when I select C/C++(.h) in the Export Map File dialog box and then click OK, nothing happens. I am able to export it to any other language, just not .hh. Does anyone know what's going on?

I am using Robohelp 15 to create Webhelp. When I hyperlink to a MP4 file I have loaded directly into Robohlep it looks fine. When I hyperlink to the same MP4 file at a host site using an URL the MP4 file looks blurry. Any suggestions?

Hi,Using RH2017 with update 2 and am using merged responsive help with the Indigo layout.I add a thumbnail in the parent project, and it shows a small image and pops up when clicked. This is correct.In a merged project, the thumbnails always display a black background, as shown below, rather than the image, although it works correctly when clicked.This seems to be a bug?Thanks

Hi, We have Robohelp 2015 in our office. And sorry if this doesn't show up in the Version Control forum, it wouldn't let me find anything like that in the options below.We've been trying to get our Robohelp set up for version control since we really need to be able to have multiple people in the project at the same time. We use Tortoise SVN for our main content control currently. In trying to add version control, we've been trying to follow the main version control instructions always referred to here, but we cannot get our SVN to show in the options for Select Version Control Provider. Our SVN has been set up for years and works just fine with our project, but it does not show here, or in the area in the RegEdit for SourceCodeControlProviders.Integrating RoboHelp projects with Subversion | Adobe Developer Connection Any ideas on how do I get our Tortoise SVN to show here so we can get it set up for version control?

In my application, I am trying to form URLs to automatically pull up context sensitive help based upon Robohelp Topic Ids.  I have read about how it should work using this reference: https://www.wvanweelden.eu/articles/part/csh-start-file  but for some reason it is not working at all.  Let me describe the issue in more detail.  I have a Robohelp project wit many topic ids.  I generate webhelp for the project and publish it.  I then create a url that I want to display the web page corresponding to the Robohelp topic ID.  For example:  "http://MyWebSite/Documentation/DEVELOPMENT/WebHelp/index_csh.htm#TopicID=Batch_Folder,withnavpane=true".  According to the documentation I have read, this should work but no matter what topic id I use, the Help Start page is always displayed.  I am at a loss to explain why this is failing when I appear to have followed all the proper steps to make it function properly.  Can someone in this community p

At this company, we use a script to convert our .xml files created in FrameMaker into .html files for use in RoboHelp to generate help.But I am loosing formatting only in my reference files. We use definitions lists (<dl>) extensively in the reference files but the heading tag (<dlhead><dthd>) is being lost and the heading is displaying just like any other definition tag (<dt>). Hello,While compiling Help in ReboHelp 8, I've encountered the following problem: after each compilation there is one or several blank topics in my Help - each time different. For example, after one compilation, the first topic contains only the title and no content and the other topics are ok; after the next compilation, the first topic is no longer blank but one of the others becomes blank.Did anyone encounter the same problem or has any ideas how to solve this problem?Thank you,Kate

Well, how do I say this in as delicate a way as possible?Methinks the concept of illocutionary (semantic) intent (as learned in first year linguistics) has eluded the writer of these Help files - to the point where someinstructions are unintelligible, or at least unclear.It definitely needs a copy editor to go through and fix the english.  Many grammatical and other linguistic errors.I'm also looking for instructional or tutorial type videos if anyone knows of any, or any in production.

Hi,Is there a way to display a customized summary of a search results file in the responsive layout?  In other words, I don't want the first few words of the file to display automatically, I want to display specific information.I use Zoom with WebHelp, but I'm trying the RH search with the Responsive layout (same files), so I already have the <ZOOMTITLE> tag in all my files.  I'd like that information to display when using RH's search.hope this makes sense! 🙂thank you!
