Hi guys,I have a query. Each topic in my help file has a hidden block of text at the top which will show when the user chooses to print (this is just a logo and copyright information). This works fine however a problem arises when using the search functionality, the text becomes visible as part of the 'Preview' text.I'm using:RH 2015IE10HTML5 Responsive OutputCan anyone advise how I might be able to visually hide this from the preview?Additionally, how do I go about excluding a specific phrase from searches? Many thanksDavid
The new responsive layout contains a print button for all topics; however, I would also like to add a PDF button that displays the topic in a PDF. I thought I might have to go the JavaScript route to obtain this. Does anyone know of an easier way or have some code that they would like to share or point me towards? Thanks,Jason
I have a knowledge base created in RoboHelp. It works better with Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. Does anyone know if this would change if we had IE 11?
When uploading pdf's, are you required to use underscores in the document name?
I have set up a test environment with two child projects in order to test that links will work between child projects. I found that when creating WebHelp output, the links work OK in Chrome, but not in IE. It is not possible to follow the link, or right-click it and open a new tab. Could this be a problem with the way IE handles relative paths, and if so, could anyone suggest a workaround?Any advice would be appreciated. (Robohelp v11, IE version 11.)
The vendor for the software I am creating Help files do not use any numbers, only URLs to call screens.
Bom Dia a todos,Gostaria de saber quais sao as diferenças entre as versões 11 e 2015 e quais sao as vantagens do RObohelp 2015.Desde já agradeço.
The browser controls work in Chrome. I like they layout and would like to use it, but it has to support IE 11.
All docs print to Word normally, but TOC page says, "No table of contents entries found."Same TOC is normal in chm file."TOC" is selected in Print Document Section Layout.I've followed the instructions in the help file and tried many times, making different selections in the Printed Documentation window. Searching online support - this specific topic doesn't appear.I've used RH for years, but this is a first for me. Am I missing something? Thanks
Hi all, I'm a minimally-techy person at a small software company who maintains our program's RoboHelp 7 HTML help file and have for years. Many of the end users that access this help file do so via RDC, connecting to various Windows servers we host. Those that get to our 2000 servers (all virtual machines) have no issue printing the Help topics. However, when on a Windows 2008 server, printouts of any topic from RoboHelp 7 html have no margins, and so the printer cuts off all around the document what it can't print to the very edge. We have multiple 2008 servers (again, virtual machines) and it happens with each one, and no matter what printer (including .pdf writer) we go to. 2000 and 2008 are the only server types used via RDC.LAN users don't seem to have an issue regardless as to the OS (~0.75" margin appears automatically, including to .pdf writer), but then no LAN users use a 2008 server as their workstation so I don't have a way to test that.I have a
I am facing an issue in the HTML output RoboHelp 11. The issues is with numbering and bullet points. Actually I m creating a help file for an mobile application. Whenever I view this output.html on web browser, it is working perfectly fine. The issue is the space between number or bullet point's format is getting disturbed. But when I view this help file on Mobile, it is getting disturbed. Kindly suggest me how to solve this issue !
I have found several questions similar to this re Cloud, but I am using Tech Comm Suite 5. Literally, every time I have to reboot my computer, I get a message that I have to register the product (Frame 12 and RoboHelp 11). This is really annoying, since Windows 7 regularly requires updates and reboots. Can any body help? Thanks
Hello,I'm migrating a RoboHelp Project from Version 9 to Version 11, and so far everything went smooth. But now I faced a problem that is a show stopper:In the ssl dialogue for generating java help I get a prompt to select a JDK after clicking "Next", "Save" or "Save and proceed"After selecting a JDK the prompt closes and I am back in the ssl dialogueWhen clicking "Next", "Save" or "Save and proceed" the JDK selection prompt opens again...I assume that something goes wrong in the Background that is not forwarded to the user. If I select a wrong JDK folder on purpose then I get a "normal" error message stating that no java.exe and so on could be found...I was able to reproduce the behavior on two different PCs.So my Question is: How can I find out what's going wrong?- Are there logs I could look at?- Can I turn on some kind of debug mode to get logs?BTW: I am using Version 11.0.4Any help would be highly appreciated as the JavaHelp Generation is critical to us.Best regardsAndy
I have a batch file that creates a printable output of our main documentation broken up into 36 separate documents, 1 per chapter. Each chapter is a separate layout. I realize that RH has its own Batch building process, but the reason for me doing it through the command line via a batch file (.bat) is that RH keeps taking focus from my mouse and it makes it difficult to do any other computer work while the RH project generates the printable output for those chapters.Anyway, RH's Batch build works fine. But the command line for printable output does not include any of my images in the printable output. I don't know why. The document generates with all the topics fine, but the images are missing. No placeholder box in the resulting Word doc, they just simply weren't included. Has anyone else seen this? Any way to fix it?
Some topics appear twice in the Topic List, but each exists only once in the project files. What causes this to happen and what can i do to prevent it? I'm using RH 11.0.4.291. I've deleted the CPD file. Here is an example:

Hello,Our current project requires us to create dynamic links in webhelp (created using Robohelp 11) and link it to other documents in local computer. The webhelp will work as primary help for the application, where, it also serves as reference to other content available in the application folder through links.Appreciate any help on how to create dynamic links in robohelp and link them to other documents in the application installation folder.
Hello,Has anyone installed Robohelp Server 9 with Windows Server 2012?[Moved from the generic Cloud/Setup forum to the specific Program forum... Mod]
Hey all,I have been researching a way to view all of the styles in the ‘Styles and Formatting’ pod for a while and I’m running into snags while getting it to work.My company uses a massive amount of styles and despite trying to narrow them all universally to just paragraph styles, I can’t seem to find a way to either scroll out and see them all in one view, or shorten the space between the style titles in the pod.Does anyone know of a way to do this, and if so can it be applied to that pod as a default setting, OR a quick way to do this each time. (short of deleting styles we may only use every now and then and have to add them in later occasionally.)A response A.S.A.P would be great, got A LOT of web and printed generations to do within the next few weeks.(All in Robohelp 11, we FINALLY got away from 9)
Hello all,Does anyone know if the personalized dynamic content filters work for linked FrameMaker books? Specifically, does the (linked) FrameMaker TOC dynamically update based on the filter selections?I'm currently creating a mock-up project to showcase this feature, but my FrameMaker books must be "linked" (not imported) with the Robohelp project. The filtering seems to work (ie, content is displayed or hidden depending on the filter), but the TOC does not dynamically update. Is it supposed to?As well, clicking on a TOC item that conditionalized and used as one of the filters does not link to the topic (that is, I click on the TOC item, and the corresponding content does not appear in the right-hand pane. This happens if that content is currently conditionalized and used as a filter criteria for dynamic content).thanks.
Is there a RoboHelp topic review workflow that allowsfor multiple simultaneous reviewersreviewers to see each other's comments?I'm evaluating RoboHelp 2015 and have played with the PDF Review workflow. However, PDFs don't allow simultaneous reviews. Each reviewer would have to work on their own version of the review PDF, which means they wouldn't see comments from other reviewers. I appreciate anything you all can share as to your review process within your company. Thanks.
I have a client who accidentally clicked on the X in one of her TOC pods on one project. Unfortunately, it appears that she has lost all of the contents in the Table of Contents and is now having to rebuild it. There is no reason that I can think of that would empty the contents of the TOC as it had previously been saved. Even if she had made a few changes to it, the entire TOC should not have been lost in my view. The TOC file exists but there is nothing in it. Then she opened her other RoboHelp projects and discovered that the TOC for each of her RH projects was also lost. Can anyone tell me how this could happen? I have never encountered this before so I am not sure how this should be avoided. She was in the process of moving her pods around on the screen and rather then pinning it in place she hit the x. By the time she showed me her file all of the project pods were no longer displaying. I showed her how to add them back in to her view but the situation with the TOC is a complete m

Hello All,Absolute RH newb here. So calling robo help from a URL thusly:http://OurRoboHelpServer:8080/mybondapp/server?area=general&prj=MyBondApp&ctxid=11001Opens the window, but it's a 90x90 pixel window that must be resized. I tried looking at the TechScribe articles and Wvan Weelden and I don't understand how to do the things described. If I were a front end developer I'm sure it would be clear, however I am not. We have an existing JavaScript function:function redirectToRoboHelp() {300 var r$self = r$(this); var data = r$self.viewModel(); var navigationURL = data.BondInfoModel.BondMain.HelpSystemContextUrl(); window.open(navigationURL, target="_blank", "left=3000,top=3000,width=2000, height=2000");}And I'm thinking I need to invoke RH_ShowHelp(hParent, a_pszHelpFile, uCommand, dwData). I don't understand how to do that from where I'm at.Thanks,BDub
I have an issue where the search function in my web output with multiple languages yields results in all languages. For example, if the user enters a word that might appear in all outputs regardless of the language, the results will display all the HTML pages for every language where it appears. Is there a way to configure the web output so that if the user is viewing the English content, only the English HTML pages are displayed when using the search function? Thanks,Chris
