I have set up a project to test using tags and boolean expressions in filtering. My project is a very simple arrangement of 4 books: A, B, C and D.Each book is linked to a topic (All about A, All about B etc.), and each one contains 3 pages: Book A has pages A1, A2, A3; Book B has pages B1, B2... etc.The All About ... topics have been tagged at the topic level as A, B, C and D. The page topics have been tagged accordingly with tags A-D and also with tags 1-3.No tagging has been done in the TOC.I set up filters for each tag, A-D and 1-3.The letter filters A-D show the TOC filtered properly, but the number filters do not show any topics in the TOC unless all books are expanded before the filter is applied. In other words, the TOC does not synchronize to show all the topics that match the filter, and it does not show the books that contain topics that match the filter. This seems odd - shouldn't the TOC display any book that contains a topic that matches a filter? Apparently, it does not d
For all my topics, the borders around individual cells in all the tables are not showing when I viewed using Chrome. Besides that, everything else is working just fine with Chrome and cell borders display as they should in IE and Firefox (Firefox does have a couple other unrelated display issues though). I do use a table style to format all the tables but the style does not have cell borders since I could never get it to work the way I wanted. I use the style for all the tables and then manually add the cell borders. Could that maybe have something to do with it, is there a known issue that I just couldn’t find anywhere?RoboHelp10 / WebHelp Pro SSL / Output Files Hosted in SharePoint 10Chrome (pardon my content)IE/Firefox (again with the content)
We recently incorporated a third-party product into our software. I imported the help topics from the third-party's online help into our company's online help (with the third party's permission). Within the third party software, they have a help button that makes a context-sensitive call to a topic. In order to do this, I enter the URL of my company's online help and then they append a helpkey to it (for example: http://www.mycompany.com/help/WebHelp?helpkey=tabGeneral&language=en-us). The part in italics is the part they append.I need to know how to set my online Help package (using WebHelp) to open a specific topic based on the helpkey sent via the URL. Given the above example, how do I tell RoboHelp to open a specific topic within the company's online help if the helpkey is "tabGeneral")?I know all of the helpkeys that can be sent from the third party. I just don't know how to set up RoboHelp to open a specific topic based on the helpkey sent. Thanks in advance for any help on th
I am using a 30-day trial of Robohelp 2015 to test it out. I opened a projected created in Robohelp 10, let RH update it, and generated a responsive HTML5 output. While generating the output, I selected "Convert auto-sizing and custom-sized popups to hyperlinks" and "convert text-only popups to hyperlinks" in the optimization tab. Everything seems to work fine, except that in the popups converted to hyperlinks, the "next" and "back" buttons have disappeared. (those buttons are present in all the other topics) I also added bread crumbs by adding a placeholder on the master page of the project, and the breadcrumbs don't show up in these topics, either.Does anyone know what might be happening and how to fix it? Thanks a million!Dawn
We are first time users and just installed RH 2015 client and RH Server v9. Is there a way to retain RH server information across projects when publishing new WebHelp Pro projects? We have hundreds of doc's to publish and entering server information each time is very time consuming and seems unnecessary. Thank you in advance.[Moved from the generic Comments forum to the specific Program forum... My team wants to use SharePoint for version control, but when I follow the instructions and select "Add to Version Control" and select the RoboHelp SharePoint Connector, I get the following:According to the instructions this have been automatically installed. We installed TCS5 as a package. I wonder if that's the issue. In any case, how can I just get this component?
Hi,I'm using RH2015.I have generated a responsive layout in both a single project and a merged project and in the generated output the path is being written as per.....index.htm#t=mergedProjects%2F10act%2Fact%2Fact_rl5.htmWhy in the URL path is '%2F' being added? This is what I would expect to be in the path:index.htm#t=mergedProjects/10act/act/act_rl5/act_rl5.htm If I change it to this manually the topic displays correctly but if I click to another topic then back the path reverts back to having '%2F' in the path. Anyone know why this is happening?
Hi guys,I have a query. Each topic in my help file has a hidden block of text at the top which will show when the user chooses to print (this is just a logo and copyright information). This works fine however a problem arises when using the search functionality, the text becomes visible as part of the 'Preview' text.I'm using:RH 2015IE10HTML5 Responsive OutputCan anyone advise how I might be able to visually hide this from the preview?Additionally, how do I go about excluding a specific phrase from searches? Many thanksDavid
The new responsive layout contains a print button for all topics; however, I would also like to add a PDF button that displays the topic in a PDF. I thought I might have to go the JavaScript route to obtain this. Does anyone know of an easier way or have some code that they would like to share or point me towards? Thanks,Jason
I have a knowledge base created in RoboHelp. It works better with Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. Does anyone know if this would change if we had IE 11?
When uploading pdf's, are you required to use underscores in the document name?
I have set up a test environment with two child projects in order to test that links will work between child projects. I found that when creating WebHelp output, the links work OK in Chrome, but not in IE. It is not possible to follow the link, or right-click it and open a new tab. Could this be a problem with the way IE handles relative paths, and if so, could anyone suggest a workaround?Any advice would be appreciated. (Robohelp v11, IE version 11.)
The vendor for the software I am creating Help files do not use any numbers, only URLs to call screens.
Bom Dia a todos,Gostaria de saber quais sao as diferenças entre as versões 11 e 2015 e quais sao as vantagens do RObohelp 2015.Desde já agradeço.
The browser controls work in Chrome. I like they layout and would like to use it, but it has to support IE 11.
All docs print to Word normally, but TOC page says, "No table of contents entries found."Same TOC is normal in chm file."TOC" is selected in Print Document Section Layout.I've followed the instructions in the help file and tried many times, making different selections in the Printed Documentation window. Searching online support - this specific topic doesn't appear.I've used RH for years, but this is a first for me. Am I missing something? Thanks
Hi all, I'm a minimally-techy person at a small software company who maintains our program's RoboHelp 7 HTML help file and have for years. Many of the end users that access this help file do so via RDC, connecting to various Windows servers we host. Those that get to our 2000 servers (all virtual machines) have no issue printing the Help topics. However, when on a Windows 2008 server, printouts of any topic from RoboHelp 7 html have no margins, and so the printer cuts off all around the document what it can't print to the very edge. We have multiple 2008 servers (again, virtual machines) and it happens with each one, and no matter what printer (including .pdf writer) we go to. 2000 and 2008 are the only server types used via RDC.LAN users don't seem to have an issue regardless as to the OS (~0.75" margin appears automatically, including to .pdf writer), but then no LAN users use a 2008 server as their workstation so I don't have a way to test that.I have a
I am facing an issue in the HTML output RoboHelp 11. The issues is with numbering and bullet points. Actually I m creating a help file for an mobile application. Whenever I view this output.html on web browser, it is working perfectly fine. The issue is the space between number or bullet point's format is getting disturbed. But when I view this help file on Mobile, it is getting disturbed. Kindly suggest me how to solve this issue !
I have found several questions similar to this re Cloud, but I am using Tech Comm Suite 5. Literally, every time I have to reboot my computer, I get a message that I have to register the product (Frame 12 and RoboHelp 11). This is really annoying, since Windows 7 regularly requires updates and reboots. Can any body help? Thanks
Hello,I'm migrating a RoboHelp Project from Version 9 to Version 11, and so far everything went smooth. But now I faced a problem that is a show stopper:In the ssl dialogue for generating java help I get a prompt to select a JDK after clicking "Next", "Save" or "Save and proceed"After selecting a JDK the prompt closes and I am back in the ssl dialogueWhen clicking "Next", "Save" or "Save and proceed" the JDK selection prompt opens again...I assume that something goes wrong in the Background that is not forwarded to the user. If I select a wrong JDK folder on purpose then I get a "normal" error message stating that no java.exe and so on could be found...I was able to reproduce the behavior on two different PCs.So my Question is: How can I find out what's going wrong?- Are there logs I could look at?- Can I turn on some kind of debug mode to get logs?BTW: I am using Version 11.0.4Any help would be highly appreciated as the JavaHelp Generation is critical to us.Best regardsAndy
I have a batch file that creates a printable output of our main documentation broken up into 36 separate documents, 1 per chapter. Each chapter is a separate layout. I realize that RH has its own Batch building process, but the reason for me doing it through the command line via a batch file (.bat) is that RH keeps taking focus from my mouse and it makes it difficult to do any other computer work while the RH project generates the printable output for those chapters.Anyway, RH's Batch build works fine. But the command line for printable output does not include any of my images in the printable output. I don't know why. The document generates with all the topics fine, but the images are missing. No placeholder box in the resulting Word doc, they just simply weren't included. Has anyone else seen this? Any way to fix it?
Some topics appear twice in the Topic List, but each exists only once in the project files. What causes this to happen and what can i do to prevent it? I'm using RH 11.0.4.291. I've deleted the CPD file. Here is an example:

Hello,Our current project requires us to create dynamic links in webhelp (created using Robohelp 11) and link it to other documents in local computer. The webhelp will work as primary help for the application, where, it also serves as reference to other content available in the application folder through links.Appreciate any help on how to create dynamic links in robohelp and link them to other documents in the application installation folder.
