Whenever i import my word document into RH all the styles and settings that i have applied in word are either lost or garbled How to import a word file without losing the styles and settings applied in word?
Current project: Web Help currently in RoboHelp for Word 10 with a lot of conditional text, many see alsos and related items, and multiple single-source layouts. Upgrading to RH 11 and will use Responsive HTML layoutI thought it might be best to first convert the RH for Word 10 project into a RH HTML 10 project, then upgrade it to 11. Since I haven't found anyone who has actually done the conversion, I thought I'd check here to see what y'all have experienced.
Years back I maintained a Microsoft HTML Help project and a What's This Help Composer project for a desktop application. In 2005, I converted my Microsoft HTML Help project to a WebHelp project and it went up on the Web. To save on translation costs, the What's This Help project was removed from the application. Now, customers have indicated that they want the old field-level What's This Help back again? My questions are:1. Using RoboHelp 7, I am under the assumption that I cannot integrate a What's This Help project into my WebHelp project (correct me if I am wrong), but can I create a standalone What's This Help project?2. Can I publish a standalone What's This Help project to the Web like I did with my WebHelp project? Or, must the What's This Help project be installed on each PC locally?3. If the What's This Help is not a viable option, what are my other field-level help choices? Right now, I have help topics in my WebHelp project mapped to the Help but
Is it possible to get the "Robohelp 2015" upgrades through the Cloud and can the Robohelp application be shared between users? As the same way as the Photoshop application that is available through the Adobe Creative cloud and licence can be re-attributed to users. Thanks
Technical info:RoboHelp 11 patch level 11.0.4.291Windows 7 OSI'm a bit new to context sensitivity in WebHelp. I have a reasonably large WebHelp project so I'm adding CS to it. I asked the developers to create topic IDs for the various interface pages however I'm not sure how to use what I received from them.I was expecting something in the format:(Web interface page) Setup... (Map ID) XYZ, (Map Number) 1234What I'm seeing is in the format:(Web interface page) Setup... (URL) http://example.example.com/blah/settings.cfm?blah=1&blahh=1 (help index) 12345678Can RoboHelp use this format and if so how? I had a look at Peter Grainge's site (thanks Peter) but I got the impression that I should be seeing either a URL or context ID (any misinterpretation of that is entirely mine).
In our product, we had the old help set up so the user could hit F1 on a field, and it would display a small pop-up describing the field, etc. Now after converting the projects to Microsoft HTML help, opposed to WinHelp (HPJ), when a user hits F1 on the field, the proper topic opens up but the entire help opens with it. The topic is being displayed in the main frame. We just need to know how to get the topic to open up by itself as a mini-pop up like our last help did before conversion. The screenshot below shows how the old Winhelp opened up in our application. Again, now when we hit F1 the proper topic displays, but is opened in the main frame with the entire help project. How do we get this pop up to open up like it did below in our newly converted HTML help?ThanksZach Bell
Hello,When I generate output files using the RoboHelp 10 HTML Printed Documentation, the pages on screen contain code for all headings on all pages. When I print the document, the code is gone. Does anyone know how I can not display the code on the screen?Thank you.
In my RoboHelp 10 Project Skin Folder, I saved image files I created from scratch and a custom (renamed) .skn file to a folder named Custom. RoboHelp uses a default skin instead because I'm getting it is pointing to the default skin folder. How can I change this so that the project points to the custom images and .skn file? What we have tried so far:1. We have tried to import the custom skin folder to the Skins folder in the left pane. 2. We have renamed the file and tried to import it (repeating step 1).3. We have tried to select the custom skin from the Skins Web Gallery (it doesn't show up there).4. In desperation, tried to drag the custom folder to the Skins folder in the left pane?Note: I am not able to share the files; they contain confidential information.Thank you in advance for any guidance you can provide.
I have an issue where the correct topic/content is not being displayed while accessing my application over HTTPS in IE 9 (the default TOC page is being displayed). It works fine in IE10 or above, Firefox and also in non-HTTPS environments (IE9 works too).Any help would be much appreciated!
In Rh 11, I created a customized Responsive HTML5 layout. Now, however, I'm considering changing my project's output to Multiscreen HTML5 since tagging content (using CBTs) to only be displayed for particular screen sizes is not supported in Responsive HTML5 layouts. Is there a way export my customized layout settings to Multiscreen HTML5 layouts?
I created a project in RoboHelp 10 to bundle with the Windows version of our birding software. I need an exact copy that I can then edit and publish with the Mac version of our software. Is there an easy way to copy and rename an entire project?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Our company has recently upgraded from version 10 to version 11. When we were using version 10 we were able to upload the Robohelp projects to a Shared Drive and we were able to zip the projects. Now that people are using version 11 and documents have been updated, users are no longer able to upload to a shared drive nor are they able to successfully zip the Robohelp project file. One of the errors that is appearing when people try to zip the projects is that that “the file cannot be compressed because it contains characters that cannot be included in a compressed folder”. Do you know of a quick way to identify all of the content in Robohelp where these characters exist and how to update the project by removing the characters so that the project can be zipped? Your assistance is greatly appreciated CheersPamela
When generating files I am unable to manually key in the names so that they match their respective entry in the contents of my help document. The reason why I am trying to do this manually is because every time I generate these files Robohelp 9 assigns generic names to the files rather than having the names match the topic names. I someone has a solution to either of these problems I would appreciate hearing about it. Thanks
I opened a project that was created in RH 11 with RH 2015 trial version. The project went through the upgrade process and seemed fine. The graphics appear in the RH project just fine. But when I generate a CHM, there're only little squares with red Xs where the graphics should be. Throughout the entire project, without exception. Any ideas?
Hi,Any option to change the label text (from XXX to YYY) of see also button automatically through out the the project?Version: Adobe RoboHelp 11Thank you.
I have a Robohelp 10 webfile that is used with IE11. I have it on several servers and it works fine. I just put it on another server where our website is not published and in the customer's intranet. The website is in the trusted sites zone in ie internet options/security due to their server's security settings. The webhelp toc will not display on this site. I can launch the webhelp by double clicking on the .html file and it displays fine as long as running scripts and activeX controls are not enabled. The trusted site custom level security options match what I have set where the toc displays file. What IE settings is keeping the toc from displaying here?
Where can I download Robohelp V10 for a pc I had to reload?
Hello,Please can someone shine some light on why when I run the HTML Help ssl wizard for a specific TOC, every single image and topic from my project file is included?Bottom line is that I only require certain topics from my project file to build a.chm help file which should only be about 7mb on disc, but is coming out at 30mb. I have used a de-compiling Tool (FAR) to asses whats going on and it appears that all the image and other topics from the Project not needed for the .Chm file are included. This is a real bother because this certain .Chm needs to be less than 10mb.Many thanks in advancedGreg
First, thank you to William Van Weelden and Peter Grainge for existing "Show All / Hide All" scripts. Peter, I accessed them from your web site (Scripts for Twisties, Show All / Hide All and Print Buttons). I was able to get William's two-button script to work. I was not able to get the "Toolbar Single Show / Hide Button" script to work. Peter, your web site indicates that script works with RH 8 and 9. I'm hoping to use it with RH 10; I tried it with no success. Has anyone updated that script for RH 10? I'd really like to be able to use that one from the toolbar. I also experimented unsuccessfully with trying to call WIlliam's ShowHide and ShowAll functions from the Action tab of the Custom Toolbar Item window, accessed from the WebHelp Skin Editor. Open to suggestions. Thanks!
Hi all, I am using RoboHelp 10, and trying to figure out a solution to some problem areas in the project I am working on, like:The RoboHelp project that we work on is quite large. As a result, generating outputs takes a lot of time. WebHelp output takes more than 15 minutes at times, whereas PDF output gets stuck, and ultimately, we need to cancel it. We have some sections in our project that are extensively used by all authors. So we do not want to split the project into multiple child projects and then merge it back again as that would mean unequal distribution of work among our team members. How can we reduce the project size to increase efficiency? Is it something to do with file corruption or the number of pages? We use two separate projects for CS Help and WebHelp. We are also planning to conditionally tag the WebHelp project for CS content, so that we can create the CS Help and WebHelp using single-sourcing. One solution that I think might work is to create a new ToC for th
Hi,I am building a project in RoboHelp which includes a master slide that has a header and footer. The Header component is working fine. However, the footer tends to stick to the bottom of the text on each page. The project comprises of several hundred HTML pages, each with varying amounts of content. When I take the output in CHM (which is going to be the final format for this project), the footer tends to move around a lot. On pages where there is very limited content, when viewed in full screen mode, the footer appears a couple of lines below the text with the rest of the page below it all blank. Some steps I found online end up making matters worse when I inserted the html/css code snippets into my current project. It would be of great help if someone can provide steps on how the footer can be configured so that there is no blank space at the bottom of the page in the default view mode. Attaching an image where the red arrow illustrate the blank space that should not be appearing.
What are twisties and how to create and apply.
Hi all:We need to create a webhelp project with no visible TOC.Is it possible to either:* Remove the TOC pane from the skin. I have looked but cannot see a way to do this.* Remove the Show link that displays at the top of the topic when the TOC is hidden.Thank you.Juliette
In RoboHelp for word you could auto generate map IDs. I have found how to do it in RoboHelp 11 but it states the following in the help "By default, the application assigns the topic title or filename as the topic ID and assigns map number" It used the topic title and I need it to use the file name. Is there a setting where I can specify to use the file name?
