I have a Rh project that links to a Fm book. I'm trying to embed some html into Fm and have it show up in the Rh output. First item is a form. I'd like to have the form within the RH html files.I've tried to add the code to the Fm reference page in the General Macros, then inserting an HTML macro marker per this help document. But the form didn't make it to the Rh output.I'm not even sure if what I'm trying to do is possible.
We're using RH 9 (latest build) to generate our chm files. One of the developers I work with has problems in Windows 8 (8.1 to be exact) opening up our chm help file by double-clicking on the chm and it gives a software crash. The curious thing is if he accesses the help from within our own software by pressing F1, the chm displays fine. He said the chms didn't used to do this and is wondering what could have changed. Any ideas? It's not just our help system that does this though. He reports that any help system he tries to open from within explorer crashes. To me it seems like some necessary component got uninstalled or removed in a windows update or something, but wondering if anyone has experienced this and if they know the fix.
Is there a simple method to use URLs for context sensitive Help?
Hi,I'm wondering if it's possible to disable manual formatting of text in RH11. We want our tech writers to use only the configured styles for text. We don't want them to apply any manual formatting, like bold and italic, to text. The only thing that I could find was hiding the Formatting toolbar, but it's not a solution. I'm looking for sth similar what MS Word offers. There you can disable all the buttons which allow for manual formatting, so that only configured styles can be used to format text.Thanks.
Hi there, this is my first post, so apologies if I am in the wrong place...I would like to insert a "last modified" date in my topics, but can't figure out how to do this! The Date field inserts today's date whenever the topic is opened, and so doesn't reflect the timeframes of changes accurately.I'd appreciate any help on this.Thank youCaroline

I'm using RH11 (11.0.3.268) and I've included a number of PDF files as baggage files. The hyperlinks on the pages work fine and display the PDF files in a separate window, as expected. However, when searching for these same PDF files using the Search tab, I'm getting a 404 error with the filename. The description on the error shows the filename and says the "the requested resource is not available." This is occurring using IE9 and IE10. And, it only happens within the application, which packages the WebHelp with a war file.I searched the forum and found where someone was having the same problem on Firefox, but was fine on IE. But, as mentioned, I'm finding it on IE.Thoughts on how to fix this error?
How does the Merge tool work for snippet conflicts? Two TWs working off a server using RH9. We are both deleting snippets in the RHsnippet.apj file so they get out of synch when one of us gets latest.
I have made my own style sheet for the project and it seems to work ok except for one thing. When I insert a bookmark in the text, the font change. What have I done wrong?
I am using RoboHelp HTML 11.0.3.268.My project uses graphics for list bullets in headings, set in the .css, as in the following example: h2 { list-style-image: url("img/black.png"); }When I view the help in the following scenarios, the graphics are displayed except for when the help has been built using RHCL:Previewing the topics in RH displays the graphics.Opening the topics in a browser (Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer) displays the graphicsCompiling the .chm file in RH using SSLs > Generate displays the graphics. Compiling the .chm using RHCL uses ordinary round bullets instead of the graphics.Any ideas, please, how I can create the .chm in an overnight script with the graphics for bullets instead of the round ones?Andy
Recently our WebHelp output started to add an alphabet to the top of the index tab with bold letters for those with topics and the search tab now contains every word in every help file with links to the number of occurences that will take you to that page if you click them. What happened? How can I turn this off? This happens in IE, Chrome, and Firefox. This happens in Windows 7 and XP. It doesn't matter which version of IE, it will occur. It will not occur if I view it through a URL. But to view it through a URL, I need to copy the files to the wwwroot directory on the web server if I want to see things "normally". I have put an example of a simple project with 3 topics in it. Below is the output. This occurs in RoboHelp 8 and also in the trial of 11 that I just downloaded. I could previously View Primary Layout in RoboHelp and see the "normal" version and now I get this:Search:a about add and another bar button click cursor d
RH10 for Webhelp outputI only have 1 TOC which has entries, and 1 Index which was auto-generated with content. They are both named and both marked as "Default" - but no matter which way I select them in the Webhelp settings for Content<default>, they aren't coming up in the generated output. What setting am I missing please? This is a simple task, so not quite sure how I'm getting it SO wrong.. in fact, it's so simple, I can't find another question regarding this issue.see my image below for details:Thanks.
Hi community,Just a quick question, tried to figure it out but can't seem to see how.I'd like to create hyperlinks in a specific topic that the user will be able to click on and it will jump the user to a specific place in the same topic (Ex: in section 2.1, in the middle of some explanation, refer to the heading of section 2.2).I looked it up, but can only seem to be able to configure hyperlinks to other topics or something outside of RoboHelp.Could someone help me with that ?Tks in advance

INFO: RH10 to HTML5 output.I'm not sure what the actual issue is, but he's trying to figure out the parameters he needs to set up in the system in order to call the appropriate topic for the appropriate app page/screen.I've explained the alias and header files, but somehow he's not able to follow the info from the Willam van Weelden site to make that work.here are the test urls showing what he's set up, but they aren't working - they are still calling the default topic... not the topic that is mapped via RH to the url. He's tried using both the value number and the topic ID - neither is working:file:///D:/Source/Solutions/Dev/Version8/DotNet/cj-Build/bin/Debug/run/webhelp/desktop/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&rhmapno=3file:///D:/Source/Solutions/Dev/Version8/DotNet/cj-Build/bin/Debug/run/webhelp/desktop/index.htm?rhcsh=1&rhnewwnd=0&rhmapid=Solutions_UI_ClientChart_General_ClientDetailsNew Here is the info I provided to him from William's site: Context Sensit

I am able to add report tools to the tool bar and get to most of the options that way. But there is no Reports option in the Tools menu. I know I have used it before, and have reinstalled Robohelp since then.
I've been using Robohelp for over 10 years....all of a sudden after I generate the project, the TOC topics in the 'contents' pane no longer appear. Nothing has changed since I last generated a project on this computer. Using Robohelp HTML 10 (just applied the latest update today) Windows 7. Please help. Thanks.
Hello all,Searching for an answer before I posted, I saw this question from a member named Pam about RH11 posted almost a year ago, but I don't see an answer. I'm hoping there is an answer! After many years of working in RoboHelp and carrying on with inline styles, I'm now looking into changing over to style sheets. I've been tinkering with them in some test projects, and I'm having the same problem that Pam did. The process of creating and applying a style sheet is simple, as far as I can tell, yet I can't get the style sheet formatting to appear. It's in the HTML--I see the .css specified, and there are only heading tags and so on present instead of inline stuff--yet the fonts I've selected appear neither in the Styles and Formatting pod nor in the Design view of the topic. I searched Adobe for help and found this: ROBOHELP 10: Creating CSS for a Topic | Tech Comm Suite Highlights | Adobe TV. I did exactly the same steps, but my fonts and spacing do not change as they do in the video.
When importing a Word document I always receive a 0x80004005 error. By searching I saw that some other authors received the same error ID, but without a solution. Is there any chance to find out what is causing the problem? The test document I am working on now is only a page long with a few headings and an TOC. No external references or pictures. Always the same error.I have already tried this kb solution (I have full access to the key): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/295297/EN-USPRB: Error Message: 0x80004005: General Error Unable to Open Registry KeyWin7/64bit, Robohelp 11, Word 2010Robert
I am using TCS 4 with FM 12 and RH 11.I have an animation built in Flash and published to a SWF file. The animation is added to a FM doc. Publishing to PDF shows the animation as expected.I link an RH project to the FM book and the animation is missing. There is an empty frame where the animation should be, and what is in the frame is a blank PNG with a made up name (i.e. filename004.png). I can add the SWF file manually into the frame but it gets wiped during the next update. I can turn off updates but that defeats the purpose of Single Sourcing. There is no setting I can find in RH to manage importing media files.Any help?
Why would a table in RH v11.0 appear fine in the editor mode and preview mode, but appear centered in the published version? I have tried selecting the entire text and clicking left adjustify and also use the <left indention to ensure it is left. It looks great in preview mode, but it is not publishing this way. Help??See samples:This is the way it should appear..This is the way it is currently appearing:
Hi,All the contents, that were being displayed earlier, seem to have vanished from the published Webhelp While I load the index.html file using Webhelp, I do not see anything on the left pane. Why is that I am see the following files apart from the index.html file:index_csh fileindex_rhc fileNeed help,Rads
If you set up a floating, non-scrolling header/title in your screen layout (skin), any links to a bookmark will place the bookmarked text underneath the header. To ensure the bookmark displays below the non-scrolling header, add the following to your stylesheet:a[name] { padding-top: xxxpx;}where xxx is the total height of your non-scrolling region (I think this should include top and bottom padding and margins as well).
