I am having such a tough time with RoboHelp. My current issue is the glossary and index not appearing in the generated output. They used to. However, yesterday I thought I should go in and clean out all the junk in my project, i.e. I had about 5 glossaries and 5 indexes because I was testing things out. I made sure I didn't delete the populated glossary and index, but by the end of the day, they were both gone. So, I located these again from a backup and imported them back into my current project. Everything is there...all my terms and definitions, the index and the links...blah blah. NOTE: Everything is there, but I was required to block it out due to privacy issues. However, this is how it now displays when I generate: Why won't this populate? Thanks,Pam
We're generating a Simplified Chinese WebHelp system using Robohelp 10 and we need to change the sort order in the Search results so that it follows the pinyin order instead of "Y, Z, M, T" (Referring to 仪,准,美,通). Is there a way to do this?
I am trying t create a custom layout in RH11.I have found the place where you can modify the appearance of the major layout components. But I cannot seem to find the place where you assemble those components to a custom layout.I stumbled upon it once, but now the Screen Layout Editor seems to be hiding from me.Will someone point me in the right direction?Thank You!DB
I am no longer able to generate WebHelp after applying patches to RoboHelp 10.Yesterday, my IT Support person helped me to install patches to RoboHelp 10 that were listed in the Van Weelden site:http://www.wvanweelden.eu/articles/robohelp-patches-and-updatesAside: Patch 10.0.1 was a bit of a pain to get to work (required uninstall and reinstall of RH10). The subsequent patches were easily applied. Now, when I try to generate WebHelp output, I get the error messages below and if I click view, it doesn't open a browser window and I can't see any output. I see that another forum poster had this same problem in December but I'm not sure if it was ever resolved. Here is the an extract of the messages in my Output View:Initializing compiler...Generating WebHelp 5.50 (10.0.0.287)...Error: Cannot find xml definition file C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 10\RoboHTML\webhelp5Ext\template_skin\webhelp5skin.xml.Template Error: can not resolve macro: WEBHELP_TEMPLATE.pane.navpane.dh
Hi,After inserting a Comcast video file, I am able to see the video in Preview. But when I generate a CHM output, the video doesn't play. If Comcast is not compatible with Robo Help 10, can you tell me which video file/format will will be? Thanks,Indrasish.
Good Day. I am using RH9 and my large projects started to freeze up and not respond. I suspect file corruption. I have reinstalled RH9 to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.Additional information: Project opens and sometimes works for a short period before freezing.
Is there a simple way to copy or import existing jpeg or gif images used in other applications into the RoboHelp project. I manually copied an image into the RoboHelp Projects folder on my C:\ drive, but when I open the project, I can't see it. From the File drop-down menu there's an Import link, but there's no option to import images. Why isn't this easier or more intuitive?I'd appreciate any help you could provide. Thanks
RH11Does anyone know why an image inserted into a footer master page is not automatically resizing to the width of the printed page when applied to a print layout and output to Word? If you insert an image into the body of a topic or a master page and generate printed documentation, the image automatically resizes.I'm trying to insert a high-res footer image (300 dpi) into my footer so that it appears on every page, but at the moment it's being embedded at full-size.ThanksJonathan
I have created a screen layout (Standard), saved, and previewed it successfully.I have selected Responsive HTML5 as my Primary Output. However, when I click the Generate Primary Output button, I get;Starting compilation...Responsive HTML5 preprocessor 11.0.0.179Clearing output folder...Screen layouts used in this single-source layout are missing. Make sure that the required screen layouts are added in the project.Internal error encountered, Failed to generate Responsive HTML5. Compilation complete. What am I doing wrong?Thank you!
I've successfully used the Printed Document SSL to generate pdfs, and they all have my own name as the Author (well, duh.) However, the client team at my company wants the author name to be the company name, but the field in Acrobat 9 will not allow me to edit the author name. Note that when I generate simple review pdfs, there is no name entered into the Author field. How can I generate the Printed Help with no Author, or edit the Author once generated?
I'm on RH 10. How can I change the colour of CHM file's TOC index button?
I am trying to create a new CSS within Robohelp 10. In the past we have used pts to identify fonts and indents. What is the current best practice? Should we be using EM or % instead? How does this impact the output both in print and web formats? Also, I am having trouble applying an updated style to old projects that were recently moved from RH 6-10 and then new CSS was applied. It is not applying consistently. Thanks for your help!
I'm using RoboHelp 11 to generate Adobe AIR browser-based help with content categories included. The output looks great when I open it from the local SSL directory; however, once I transfer the files (via FTP) to the server on which my website is hosted, the browser-based help looks VERY bad. I'm not quite sure what's going on. It could be something very simple that I'm overlooking. I created my website using Adobe Muse and it's hosted through Adobe Business Catalyst so I'm not sure why my Help files aren't displayed properly. Here's a link to the file on my website: indexAny guidance will be much appreciated!Regards,Nick Iati
I want to link an external chm file from TOC in Robohelp 11. I placed the destination chm file in the SSL folder. Do I need to place the source files of the destination chm file inside of the parent source file as well? Please help.Message was edited by: Rick Stone - Edited thread title for brevity
Please explain how comments are enabled for Pro outputs in RH server. Is it only for AIR file, but i understand AIR output is not supported. Then how Moderators setting work for PRo outputs?
I want to look at it to see if it helps me design a cover and cannot find it in the project anywhere. Thanks,Matt
Hi All,With RoboHelp 11 and Word 10, I am trying to emulate an existing cover page for our company, which has a gray background image and a blue text box with the document title and version number. I created a topic with the background image, then placed a positioned text box over it. I added blue shading to the text box and the white lettering for the title and version. When I generate Word, the text box and text inside it do not show up in the Word output. Is there a way to get HTML > Insert features like text boxes to appear in the Word output? Thanks,Matt
In my Word output, the page numbering skips some page numbers, so I see 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9...it skips seemingly random page numbers throughout the rest of the document. I looked in the sample SalesBuilder2 project for answers and their Word output has the same issue. Has anyone else seen this and is there a known cause/resolution?Thanks,Matt
HiI am using FM11 and RH10 as part of TCS4.I have inserted an image in FrameMaker which has the file path Interactivities\First Interactivity\tab1.swf (shown in the screenshot). When I import to RoboHelp the path is lost. This is generally not an issue as the file gets imported and published as well. But in my case, I have three different SWFs named, tab1.swf, tab2,swf, and tab3.swf in three folders First Interactivity, Second Interactivity, and Third Interactivity respectively. The content of all three SWF files are being called from an XML file, which has the same name of tabs.xml. Now, when we publish the RoboHelp file, since all the three SWFs get copied/published to the single folder, that throws all my calls to the XML out of gear. So, is there a way I can retain the file path when the file is imported? Thanks in advance for your help.Sreekanth
Hi all!I have an html documentation generated through doxygen and shaped as an online help system.I would like to import this documentation into a program that would allow me editing in a user-friendly, non-code-based environment, and that would keep the original style formats and Javascript-based options.Has someone ever used RoboHelp for such a purpose? Is there any chance it could work? Thanks in advance for your answers.
I can understand the benefits and how these tools are used. Now i want to understand how there are interlinked. The steps to publish RoboHelp output file to RoboHelp server is fine. How Adobe AIR can be intergrated. is real-time feedback is enabled without adobe AIR?

We have several different Excel templates that we would like our users to have access to. I would like to create a list of available templates from which the user can simply click on the linked template name, then download the Excel file. How would I accomplish this? Thanks in advance.
We are using RH10 and building nightly with a perl script that calls RH.exe. Recently we noticed the process time went from two hours to six, and the number of files in wghdata in a couple of the projects multiplied and became much, much larger. Many of them ballooned from 30-50kb to 2-2.5mb. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything in the updated .js files in the recent hot fix that might account for this?
Hi,I create a WebHelp with RH 9. It is a new project which was created in RH 9. The text contains words in bold (like this). Some short lines (style Normal like the text) are also bold. These lines are not headlines, but they should be highlighted in bold (see below). To add bold I use the bold button of RH. When I generate the WebHelp and open it in Firefox (currently version 11), then words within a text and the short bold line look different ?! The single word appears extra bold and the line appears normal bold. The genereated HTML looks like:for a word: <span style="font-weight: bold;"><b>word in bold</b></span>for the short line: <p style="font-weight: bold;">line in bold</p>When I switch to the HTML view in RH it looks like:for a word: <span style="font-weight: bold;">word in bold</span>for the short line: <p style="font-weight: bold;">line in bold</p>Why does the generation procedure handle bold things different? And why
