RoboHelp

I'm customizing the frameless studio skin and have tried to figure out how to skip this front page and have the project open to a topic page or, even better, remove the tiles on this page and insert a topic.  I don't want to use the tiles.   

How does one regenerate the Index for all project topics for WebHelp? Many of my topics are outdated. I'm currently using version 2022.1.188. There used to be an "auto-generate index" function that no longer appears available? Thanks!

My TOC contains links to external web pages. And for those links, I want to add an icon to indicate that the link goes outside of the project. I went to Properties > TOC Icon & then uploaded the custom icon. But for some reason, the icon does not display when I generate the output. I also want the link to display in my search results, but they don't. Am I missing something?

I am using Windows 11 and Robohelp version 2022.2.22 and nothing happens when I use the Check for updates option. I did see that was a problem with a previous version. Should this be working for 2022.2.22?

Is there a way to generate an output in a way that only some files inside the project are updated in the output folder and others that are still in work stay as last generated in the output? Or at least send to publish (with the Publish function) only some specific files? Seems I'm in a deadlock My situation is that I'm currently updating a number of files in the RH project folder. Some of them cannot be finalized untill the end of the  month, whereas I have a couple of files that are ready to be published to the site. But seems that there is no way in RH to generate an output only for some files that are ready to be published. You can generate an outout only to the whole project. Am I correct? Please advise how to work in RH if you use your project to constantly update the content, but you need to generate the output only for some files that are ready to be published while some other files are still "in work" status and cannot be published. Thank you for your help

We have an ask from the customers. In the Frameless responsive output that has a home page/landing page with tiles, the ask is to somehow upfront add a revision history of updates that are published in the help.Any ideas/suggestions how this can be added?

RoboHelp 2022.2.22Hi,I am encountering an application error while editing any Frameless Home Page or Topic Page template.  Whenever I click an object that has a css psuedo-class such as Left Panel > selected-title:hover or Search Box > search-textfield:focus, I get the error. All other 'standard' objects such as Header > container, I am able to edit and set styling properties without any issues.   For reference, this is the error:At first I thought it was a problem with the project I am currently working on. However, after opening the Adobe supplied samples, they too produce the error when I select psuedo-class items. My project uses the Frameless Orange template, but I can reproduce the error with all of the frameless templates.  Here's what else I've tried/checked:Close RH, deleted the .RH folder, then restart RH Projects, templates & output presets paths are set to local hard drive; no cloud-based folders usedCreated new Frameless

Hi guys, I wonder if RH has freeze pane feature like excel.I'd like to have several lines keeps showing at the top of page when readers scrolling down.Or can you recommend me other similar features if any.?  Thanks in advance.

Hi All, I am having RoboHelp 2022 and generating CHM. I would like to include breadcrumbs in CHM but I don't see an option.   Any thoughts? Does RoboHelp 2022 support breadcrumb feature in the first place?

Hello, The CHM output from RH2022 (2022.2.22) appears to assert compatibility with IE9 via meta X-UA-Compatible. Because X-UA-Compatible is IE9, the help viewer appears to render in IE9 mode, based on what I'm seeing in the F12 developer tools. (I did the whole enable-IE-compatibility-mode and manually launch iechooser.exe thing to hook up F12 to the help viewer.) There are a number of places within our project (mainly compatibility/feature tables) that had raw checkmark characters (✓) or crosses (✗), and these appear to be getting rewritten--regardless of whether the source has the raw character, or the decimal &#nnnnn representation, or the hex &#xnnnn representation--to ✓ or ✗, which IE9 mode does not appear to render properly, instead just spitting the HTML entity text out. If I change the mode to IE10 or 11 in F12, those entities render properly. Note that if I fiddle with the live contents in F12 and enter either of the ch

I set a bookmark in RoboHelp, and the code is as follows.<h2><a id="_bookmark01"></a>Title01</h2> After output the help, I entered the bookmark link in the Chrome address input, and the bookmarked location was briefly displayed on the screen, and then the scroll automatically moved to the upper to display another location.In the case of Edge, the bookmarked location is maintained without such symptoms.(Bookmark link: https://~~~~~~.htm#_bookmark01) How can i solve it?

I use Robohelp 2020 to create CHM. The security recently ran a scan on my machine and removed  html workshop from machine, as a consequence, the search in the chm is not working anymore for the newly generated help files. Is there a work around to getting the search feature to work without HTML help workshop? Why do we still need HTML help workshop when micrsoft does not support it anymore? 

I am having a problem with online help systems that worked with our applications, until recently, when our developers made some security changes to prevent unsafe inline directives. We no longer get the context-sensitive topic to display. The main topic (which is Overview) displays when help is called, no matter what page the user is on. I was using RoboHelp 2017, and was told to switch to RoboHelp 2020, Update 8. This would supposedly correct this. So, I upgraded one of my help projects from 2017 to 2020, and now, nothing loads. I get a spinning "square wheel" in the left pane where the TOC should be, and nothing appears in the right pane. I am at a loss as to what to do, I tried to set up a call with a RoboHelp support rep so my developer and I could talk to someone and show them what's happening. I called the 800 number, and was put on hold forever. I tried emailing 'support@adobe.com' as was suggested in the "on hold" recording, but apparently that email address does

Recently in my project Robohelp begins error-ing out and needing to be restarted every time I insert a hyperlink to another topic in the project. Every. Single. Time. Is this app just bad? I feel as though something is wrong if I am restarting it every five minutes.

Greetings,I am using RoboHelp version 2022.1.188. I have a question please about the buttons at the bottom right of the topic page in the Oceanic skin (screen capture below). Would anyone be able to direct me to the location where these are buttons stored? I don’t see them in the publish/skins/Oceanic directory and I didn’t see details by using Inspect View. The reason I ask is that I’d like to use Adobe Illustrator to change the color of the buttons. 

I am a RoboHelp 2020 user. Can I install 2022 without uninstalling RoboHelp 2020 and use both?

I have a project for helpfiles on Robohelp2019 where suddenly the generate option always results in an errror: failed to generate.Generating from this project always worked in the past, and no changes were made to any of the contents since the last successful generate. The last action in Robohelp was creating a new skin in the 'skins' tab, then trying to generate with the skin (default Azure_blue skin). This resulted in a generate error. After removing the skin again, the error remained. Now the entire project will no longer generate, even though all the settings and content are exactly the same as before. The loading bar from the generate displays 'copying asset files' right before returning the error.When checking the log, the last entry is: 'Packaging Microsoft HTML Help...'Followed by: Error:    (it's just blank) Any ideas as to why Robohelp suddenly decided to no longer generate for this project?

I have the same question but the answers below don't seem to provide the proper solution. If I right-click on a topic and open in a new tab, I see the "Click here to see this page in full context" link, but I would like the page to automatically open in full context, with the TOC in the sidebar. Is there a way to do this?    I am using RoboHelp 2022.

Hi! I'm facing an issue when selecting an image file to enclose in the <fig> tag. In process of updating an image file, the RoboHelp tool is taking very long to display the files in the directory and upload the selected file.Image dialog box and Select Image File dialog box are responsive. And, after a while, either one of them starts crashing (Not responding message). Moreover, after the image is selected, when I proceed to resize. It doesn't happen in one go. I had to close the dialog box and open it again to do that.  

Hi everyone.So I finally upgraded my Robohelp Classic 2019 project to Robohelp 2022 (New UI). But it just so happens that several of my TOCs (which were converted from the original .hhc to .toc) are empty. This happens not only in RH 2022, where their indexes are empty, but also when I open the .toc files. This, whoever, only happened with some TOCs, while others are fine.Does anyone have a clue on what might be the issue?Thank you,Filipe

Good afternoon, I have set up my child project folders and parent project folder. When I start freash with nothing in any of the folders, ny child projects generate in their correct location. I can click the index and the page only displays the one project.  After I generate the parent project and go back to the child project index, all the child projects appear in the output. Can you help be determine why I have to clear the folders and generate againg to only see one child project in the output after I generate the parent project?To summerize:Generate both child projects.index.htm 1 - child project 1index.htm 2 - child project 2The respective index only show the corrosponding childGenerate the parent projectGenerate the parent project. Index 1,2, and the parent index show all the child projects.

Hello,I'm new with Robohelp and scripting. I'm trying to implement a script that highlight a specific topic in my summary when my app open my CHM file generated by RoboHelp.
