New additions to our table of contents are visable when viewing in RoboHelp (first screenshot), but are not available in the contents section once uploaded to the application (second screenshot). The framless output option gives us a secondary table of contents that displays updated information (third screenshot). How can we ensure that the main contents section is updated to match the table of contents in Robo Help. Thanks,
Version: 13.0.0.257I receive this error prompt every time I open my project in RoboHelp 2017. I can edit, generate new layouts, etc., without any issue. How do I get rid of this message? Thank you in advance.
Hi!Wanted to see if anybody else has seen this problem, when clicking on menu-item-wrapper:hover and menu-item:hover in Topic page Menubar, I always recieve an Application Error. And it´s only on these two, everything else works. We would like to change the color from black to something else. I´ve also added pictures, maybe someone have a tip for us? Once upon a time, there was a means (via an "Advanced" tab, if memory serves) to change the topic et al TOC icons for CHMs. I can't find it or otherwise figure out how to change the question mark icon to something prettier. Anyone?
I am using the glossary feature in RH 2022. In the final output, if I hover-over the glossary item, a tooltip pop up. Is there any way to change the style of the text that pops up? For example, I would like to change the text size or the background color.I am using RH 2022.2.22.Thanks,Jim
I have a style that I've used for every ordered list in my system (Proc 1). I've just recently updated to RH2022 from RH2020 and today noticed that I'm unable to use the Restart Numbering from tool in the Properties pane. For example: To create the two following examples, I clicked the Numbered List icon in the header bar and selected the far left option, and: For the first example, i applied no style For the second example, i applied style "Proc 1"I added the text for the first step of the procedure I pressed shift+enterI added the intermitted line of textI pressed enter againI repeated step 1I added the text for the second step of the procedureIn the properties pane, I entered the number 2 in the Restart Numbering from field. I searched existing Robohelp community posts for an answer, I saw @Peter Grainge and @johndaigle answered quite few posts on the same.A military client of ours wants to create user manuals in Arabic language, they're considering Adobe FrameMaker, Captivate and Robohelp. I know Adobe Captivate well and can answer our client technically, however, I need experts help on whether Robohelp do supports Arabic in latest versions (it didn't support it for long time), and whether Robohelp can provide as our client puts it "video help"?
Hi I'm hoping someone can help. I have hyperlinks to academic references throughout my project. The last couple I've tried to add haven't worked - I create the bookmark at the destination, then highlight the text in the project I want to link from, click the insert hyperlink button and insert my screen tip text, but when I scroll down the list of available bookmarks the one I've just created doesn't appear. I've saved all files so that isn't the problem. Strangely, if I skip to the next instance it happens again (that is, doesn't work), but the next one works OK. I've created a custom master page for our app's topics. The only change from factory default is to add Breadcrumbs. It works and I can manually assign it as each new topic's master page. But it would save a lot of time and be more fail-safe if the app's master page could be assigned as the default for every new topic. If that is possible, how to set it up? I've drilled into all of the master page config panels and nothing jumps out. Thanks! Nick
I have a project migrated from X3 to 2022. Just noticed an unexpected disagreement (?) between what shows in the Author/Index panel and the generated Microsoft HTML Help preset. Note that the CHM actually shows more than the Index panel. Anyone has an idea of how this can happen? First, what I see in the RH Index panel: And, this is the running CHM generated:Thanks.
when I try to generate PDF I get errors dues to RoboHelp not finding Java.I have read posts for similar issues on earl;ier versions of Mac and RoboHelp. I have tried all of the following:- Using both Java 8.0 and jdk-20- Resetting the RoboHelp Java Home Path- Launching RoboHelp from the terminal I would really like definitive instructions on: the Java version to use, the correct HomePath variable and any other wizardry that will help me with this. I cannot find a menu item for Skins on RoboHelp 2022. I have attached a screenshot of the UI area where I expected to find it. I am evaluating a trial version on Mac Ventura.
I'd like to be able to trust that the preview of my help project accurately renders how it will look the end user when they display a topic from our web app. However, it renders significantly smaller - so small as to be unacceptable. I don't understand why the preview is not reliable re the issue of render size.

Hi All,My frameless output is hosted on a cloud at my customer location. I want to improve my web help by capturing search queries or any user interactions. In Frameless output of RH 2022, is it possible to log user interactions, including search queries ? If not, can anyone please suggest any possible way to do it. Like setting up a tracking mechanism that records keywords entered by the user by respecting the user's privacy too.
We have a internet facing company website and we have hosted help content for the website using Robohelp. The RoboHelp Server 11 (11.2.0) has been installed on a Windows server which is on the company intranet while we have a separate Unix IHS 8.5.5 webserver (based on Apache 2.2) which is exposed on the internet. Further, the website is only accessible over https while the direct help content from Robohelp server can be accessed over http (on intranet). To access the help content from internet we have configured a reverse proxy on the Unix webserver. But we observe that when the help content is accessed from the proxy, the help page does not show the content. We even see the same issue when accessing via proxy in the intranet. But the same page shows content without issues using the direct Robohelp "View Project" URL from the admin console. Hello, I'm using RoboHelp 2022.2.22 Our RoboHelp files are in U.S. English and we have a need to have them translated to French Canadian. I've successfully exported the content to XLIFF (.xlf) files. As a test, we manually translated just one file, then I imported the xlf files and synced them. They files all show as In Sync. However, when I go to view the page that was translated, it all still shows in U.S. English. I've attached a picture of the manually translated xlf file and broke up the code lines a bit, to make it more easily readable.After importing and syncing the files, when I load the page in RoboHelp that this file is for, everything still shows as U.S. English. What am I missing or doing incorrectly?Thank you.
When generating RH 2022 content, the Output screen requires that I add a Default Topic and by default chooses First_Topic, which is blank for me. I don't want really want a default topic. Instead, I want the Frameless output to open to the page in its template that already lists the sections I have chosen.

You export new XLIFFs for your translatorsThe new XLIFFs won't have the old translations. I have had continuing trouble figuring out the "reimagined" UI. My situation is complicated by the fact of having migrated many large CHM projects from X3 to 2019 (Classic) to 2022, and continue to trip on unexpected failures/short-comings/unexpected stuff. The latest has to do with the Index. I will not torture the reader by explaining all the steps I've taken thus far; rather, note that I have resorted to creating a simple test project to see what I can see. The most straightforward, but possibly uninformative what I can demonstrate my issue is via the following screen shots. Here are a couple of factoids that may help position the reader.- created a new project using RH2022 and created a preset for type Microsoft HTML Help (aka CHM)- note that the the new project contains an auto-generated named First Topic- navigating to Author/Index, I click on the plus (+) sign at the top right of the Index panel and enter text "First"- I then click on the elip
In at least two instances, if I do a word search in my output produced with RoboHelp (RH) 2020.2.22, the search box finds a match for a “similar word” as a positive match for that word. For example, when I search for white, it displays two files containing the word while and when I search for black, it displays positive matches for the word block. Is this normal behavior? Dear colleagues, I'm quite new on RoboHelp and I'm having an issue that is taking all my time and patience.I would like to create a cover page with no margins but nothing is working. I tried the following: - Add a specific template for the cover: Output > Templates > tamplate > page layout.- Work with different stylesheets; book.css as I saw in other discussions, and modify some values as specified.- Work with a custom stylesheet with no margins and also with negative margins inclusive including the property !important directly on the css.With negative margins I can see in the output that the margin is applied in the topic but not in de output. Also I 've been reading the documentation and tried to follow some indication of the following:https://helpx.adobe.com/ch_it/robohelp/using/customize-pdf.htmlNothing worked for me.By the way, it says that a cover page can be added from the TOC. Not me. I don't have any option to select or add a common top
I'm exporting XLIFFs from RH2022. I tried using POedit, but it "unescapes" characters in the XLIFF and breaks it, so re-importing doesn't work again.Swordfish doesn't work either, as it heavily changes the XLIFF format.The only thing that has worked 100% is me manually editing the XLIFF.Is there any program that the RH community recommends for working with XLIFF files?
I'm using a master page that includes a footer. It has worked fine for several years, but recently, the footer is missing in HTML5 output for all longer topics that require scrolling to get to the bottom. The footer is there in all shorter topics that do not require scrolling. This happens with both Chrome and Edge. Has anyone else had this experience? I'm using RH2015, but it has worked okay for years. Is anyone aware of a recent browser change that might impact this?
