Can anyone think of a way to have the spell checker ignore one of my topics? I have one topic that contains a lot of nonsense text which I don't want to add to my dictionary or ignored words. We have a process before releasing our software to make sure spell checker does not detect any errors and that one topic goofs us up.Ideas?I am using RH 2020.7.46.
Hello my friends,Our company wants to put all our various products documentation sets under a single ZoomIn portal. To those who don't know about ZoomIn, here's their website:https://www.zoominsoftware.com/ I was told I should generate our RoboHelp projects as an epub output and upload that. However, for some reason, in our ZoomIn portal, the images are super stretched and are forced to 100% width, like this:Here's the code that sets it to 100% inside Firefox's Inspector:If I delete that styling, it does set it back to the expected size. Is this something epub output is doing or something in ZoomIn?I don't have anything in my native code or css styling that does this. For example, in our normal generated HTML5 output (not in ZoomIn), the icon is a normal size and looks like this:Has anyone else worked with ZoomIn with RH 2017 projects? If so, do you know of a way to control this behavior?Thank you in advance.
Hi,I am using:- Robohelp 2020 (2020.7.46)- Frameless preset for my output of the project- Dynamic content filter with 18 options to choose fromAlso, I assigned Condition Tags to each topic. Each topic has either 8 or 10 Conditional Tags assigned to it.After generating output, some options in my Filter, when I click on them, they make my TOC responding weirdly. Basically, the TOC behaves randomly, sometimes showing the tagged topics, but sometimes not showing at all. I cannot see any pattern why this is happening. Could you suggest something how to resolve this, please.Thank you very much for checking that over for me.
Hi,I use a dark background color and each time you click a link, there is a white flicker before the new page is loaded. Probably I need to add my background color to the CSS properties of one of the elements in the layout.css.Has anybody figured this out yet? Robert
When I add a TOC Page to my Book-TOC, and then try to generate the PDF... I get this error message.Without the TOC Page, the PDF will generate just fine. I'm not seeing any useful settings for this "TOC page" that might solve this generating error. Am I understanding what this is supposed to do... this should make the entire "BasicBook-TOC" appear in my PDF where the "TOC Page" is ?
I am using the "autonumber" feature (in RH 2020.7.46) which works nicely for the web/online version (Frameless Studio). Numbering starts at 1, or (a) in this case .... However, the PDF output is hit-and-miss. For example, the above portion in PDF output looks like this...It's picking up from a previous autonumber list (in a different topic and section, that ended in (s) ). Sometimes PDF autonumbering "start at 1" works properly, but not always as you can see above.Am I missing something? or is this probably an error that Adobe needs to fix?
Using RoboHelp 19 Classic.Several issues with multilevel lists illustrated by the image above (and attached), which shows a multilevel list, another multilevel list, and then an ordered list:1. How do I get the second multilevel list to start at 1 again? I've tried selecting "Restart Numbering at: 1" in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box but that seems to do not have any effect. I understand that multilevel lists are automatically set to autonumber instead of working like an ordered list. Is there a way to ahve multilevel lists work like an ordered list in terms of numbering? 2. I would like the spacing between the number (e.g., "1.") and the actual text to be the same whether it's an ordered list or a multilevel list. In other words, I want the finished output to look the same whether it's an ordered list or a multilevel list. But no matter what values I adjust in my css (x-lvl-1-text-indent and x-lvl-1-margin) it doesn't seem to affect the spacing between the number and t
In our Responsive HTML5 output, I have a "version" number that I'd like to define as a variable and use it in an output folder's path here:This is my parent project in a large merged help project. My child projects already use a version number that I have to udpate for each child project:Currently, we have about sixteen child projects and each new development cycle (every few months) I have to always update this variable value in each one. Because it's a manual process, we sometimes forget one or two. Is there a way to define this in one place for all my parent/child projects and have all the SSLs use that single variable value?
If I click an rhpj file, RoboHelp opens showing its home page with buttons and recent projects. If I click a recent file via the RH button (Windows 10), then the same happens. How can I make this work (so that the project opens)? With RH10, this worked by default.
I am trying to upgrade my classic RoboHelp project with .HPJ project file to RH2020. Had one through couple of help topics(links below) but everywhere it was mentioned to select main project file .XPJ to upgrade, which I am not finding in my project. I tried the same upgrade process by selecting .HPJ file, he upgrade was successful but when I open .rhpj file, CONTENTS and all other tabs are empty(Image below)RH2020 Upgrading from Classic Versions (grainge.org)Solved: How to upgrade a Robohelp Classic project (.xpj) w... - Adobe Support Community - 12042710
For my PDF output, I would like to restart page numbering (with page 1) for each folder (chapter) of the PDF. It doesn't look like this is possible. Or am I missing something? (I am using Master Pages to put a page number in the footer, but I don't see how I could restart the numbering with each folder.)
I am trying to install Technical Communication Suite 2019 and while I have managed to make it install and run FrameMaker, it won't install RoboHelp and Captivate properly. When I try to run these programs, I get an Invalid License Number message. And Adobe Support merely points me to paid help or the community.Does anybody know how to fix this issue?
Hi all,it seems that Robohelp 2020 U7 has problems to export to word when <div> is used in the topic. In Robohelp it is visible as below:In the Word Export it is just shown, e.g. the orange one (the others are exactly the same, just a huge line, but not the icon and not the other divs):The code behind in Robohelp is:<div class="box-hint fk"><div class="boxleftpart-i fk-back"> </div><div class="boxrightpart"><p>Bla Bla Bla</p><p> </p><p> </p></div></div>Does anyone have a hint how to get the correct layout in the word export?
I am using RH 2020.7.46 on a Win10 machine. My counterpart, who is brand new, is using RH 2020.7.41 on a Mac (Big Sur 11.6.5). We both use a Git repository for version control. Everything is set up the same on both machines in terms of our Git folder structures, i.e. everything Git would know about is the same. The only differences are the Win/Mac stuff; my stuff in the root of C and hers is in Documents). My images remain properly linked, but hers show up like this: If she attempts to do Sync Folder | From Source to Project, she gets this error: That image is not only visible in the Contents pane (also yellow), but it's also in RH's folder structure and in the folder it would consider its source. There are over 3,000 improperly linked images. How do we resolve this?
I have a Webhelp project that I upgraded to RH 2020 from Rh 2019 Classic. When the file is in the application, random characters, like A with a ~ (tilde) on top appears immediately after a: (colon) and a space. This character also appears anywhere there are more than 1 space created by either pressing Enter or the spacebar. When I try and copy/paste the character into the Find/Replace function, nothing works. It doesn’t recognize this random character. I’m also getting odd characters (frequently, but not all the time), when I type ‘ (apostrophe). The apostrophe I can do a find/replace but it causes grammatically errors in the text, example, Susan’s file changes to Susans file. Has anyone had this issue? Is there a fix for it? I’m grasping for anything to make this work. There are over 1,600 topics in the project. Going through each page one-by-one is time-consuming and not something I would expect that I should have to do from an authoring software. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
I created a 2-cell, single-row table to insert an image in the first cell and associated text in the second cell. My tables render well on larger monitors or when the navigation page is hidden; otherwise, on smaller screens (i.e., laptop), the images and text in the tables get scrunched or border lines appear for no reason. This doesn't bode well when customers need to see this information. I've wanted to used text boxes in RH 2020.7, but they are not editable for border color, sizing, etc. It's a real disappointment. In Word or PowerPoint, I can create text boxes and format them in almost any fashion possible. I've thought of creating them in one of those apps and copying into RH, but I need to be able to edit them on the fly and not have to recreate them in Word or PP all the time. @Peter Grainge has an excellent example of what I want to create on his RH 2020 tour site, but I don't know how to recreate what he's done. I don't know if he's using a single-cell tab
How do you merge CHM outputs in RH (2020.7.46)? I tried to follow the "Child HTML Help File" instructions here; however, I can't find the icon or other option that's described in step 4. The instructions say to "Right-click in the Table of Contents editor and choose New > HTML Help File." But when right-clicking in the TOC editor, there is no "New" option. The only options are: Insert>Topic/Section/AnotherTOC/Child Project. None of these options seem to allow for adding a CHM to the TOC. I tried adding my child .chm files into my assets folder and then adding them directly to the TOC like I would a PDF or topic, but that did not work (my output just considers the files as one topic, and the topic content is only a text version of the glossary terms.
Good Morning,We are writing to ask you to help us as we can not generate a word output.Probably because we make a mistake in creating the template. Can you help us understand how to create a new template? Thanks so much in advance
How do I reduce the space between header and paragraph, when the text is copied from word.In the below screenshot left is RH and the right is Word.
I have upgraded a legacy RoboHelp (8) project to latest RoboHelp 2020. I've got most of the content in order but there are two differences between the legacy version's CHM files and the new versions CHM-files: 1. New CHM-files doesn't remember window position and size in between opening and closing the file.2. New CHM-file doesn't expand and highlight the section I've navigated to via links, see attached screenshot. The left window is generated from RH 2020 and the right is generated from RH 8. I've clicked a link in "Main Window" to "Main Window" > "General" in the same manner in both help files but the new one doesn't sync expansion and highlighting in the leftmost pane. How can I adjust get the new version to behave like the one generated from the old RH? Thanks in advance!
Hi, All. Has anyone created a macro to apply a style to text in Robohelp 2020? RH 2020 has created a few macros for headings 1 to 6 (ctrl+alt+1 and so on), but I would like to create a macro to apply another style to format text but I need a way to call the Styles panel in the macro. So... Does anyone know the keystrokes to open the Styles panel? There has to be a faster way of finding a style instead of opening the Styles panel and then scrolling through the entire list. Has anyone created a macro for RH 2020? Did you use a macro app to do it? I've read a few mentions of RH users using Macro Express for this purpose in earlier RH versions and I was wondering if anyone was able to use it to create a macro in RH 2020. Thanks so much for your help.
We currently use Robohelp 8 and are looking to upgrade. We have installed Robohelp 2020.7.46. When it first opened it was fine. We imported, edited, compiled etc. On the second open everthing seems locked or frozen and Nothing can be done. Robohelp has become a dead weight! Anyone any ideas? Regards,Dave.
In Frameless project, we need to add a section to gather feedback on help topics, and also have insights about the number of visits. Is there any certain code to use here?
So, we've got a customer who doesn't allow internet access from the server they're using to host our application help. This causes to default.css and font.css hang until they timeout. The issue seems to be this line in the files...@1552174 url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:300,400,600,700,800); What should we do? It doesn't look like the customer is going to allow internet access from that server. Can I just delete those files? Or that line from those files? Thanks!
I searched the Forum but could not find anything related to this...My problem/issue/annoyance is that, in the TOC of one of my RH2017 projects, I have a backslash:When I generate the HTML5 output, RH adds a second backslash for some reason:The TOC link in the generated output works and the topic itself looks fine: I did a NotePad++ search in the folder of where the generated output is published to and found these instances of where these double backslashes occur: Again, everything seems to work fine, I'm just wondering if anyone else has come across this issue/annoyance and if there's a way to prevent this from happenning.
