I can see that others have had a similar problem with this but I have not found the right solution yet.  When I compile my CHM output the Search box returns 'No topics found'.  I am on version 2020.6.76.  I updated a few weeks ago from Robohelp 7 when my old PC died and I was forced into it, so this machine has not had an earlier version on it and I have no access to earlier versions.  It happens on all projects including the sample ones.  If I use the HTML5 output it is fine but that is not compatible with our programs sadly.  I have tried recreating the output presets and the default window, turning search and advanced search off and back on again which has solved other issues I have had with the update.  I have read posts about DLLs not being registered but they are older than 2020 and not sure are relevant.  If that is the issue I have no idea about going about solving it, and probably little power to change them as I work for a big corporate

Hello - we upgraded a project from RH2015 in September - were sent the link to RH2020 build .0 to download, upgraded the project and after hitting lots of issues, an Adobe agent informed us we were 6 builds back and needed to uninstall/reinstall. We were provided a link to RH2020.4 and told to use the Help > Check for Updates option in the app to move to .6.  After the upgrades, we found many topics completely dumped (0kb) and broken links - the bulk of which we have resolved by going to backups from the various stages. Regarding the empty topics, the authoring & source views of most were blank...I opened the .htm files in Notepad, copied the html code and pasted it into the source view of the topic & saved...this seemed to fix the issue. Hopefully I didn't introduce more problems by patching things this way.  The Broken Links report is listing a number of JavaScript breaks - some of which point to files in the \assets\js folder and some to other location

Has anyone had an experience or luck with importing files into RoboHelp generated from Asciidoctor? I have a pretty massive amount of content from Asciidoctor I need to pull into RoboHelp Classic 2019 and formatted to my specific Master Page and Style Sheet.I can get outputs from Asciidoctor as PDF or HTML and I already have tried importing them, but it just created a mess (primarily having to do with css). When I had to deal with this before, the only method that really worked was a completely manual copy and paste process which is extremely time consuming. If anyone can provide any advise, tips, tricks or or things I can try to get this Asciidoctor content into RoboHelp, it is greatly appreciated.

Creative Cloud Desktop is installed.My login to Creative Cloud Desktop is the same as my login for RoboHelp.The Share for Review panel does not have the Members feature under Access Settings.When I click the Share button, the error message appears.What am I missing? 

Every topic opened produces Application error (see screen shots) at bottom.What i did:Installed RoboHelp 2020. Opened RoboHelp and clicked "Upgrade Project" button to convert a RoboHelp 11 source (.xpj) to a RoboHelp 2020 source (.rhpj) Opened different topics. All triggered Application Error: The application has run into an error. Please save your unsaved changes and restart from menu: Help > Restart RoboHelp. I also trigger this error every time i click the "Update Syle" button. I clicked a lot of other buttons and tabs and didn't see this error otherwise. I think the two actions touch a problem in the conversion concerning my custom CSS files. I was unable to find any way to re-integrate a custom CSS. I had one for WebHelp and one for Printed_Documentation (I generate both from the same source). Please tell me if this is the problem and how to integrate my CSS files (best solution) or otherwise fix this so at least every topic does not throw an error whic

We have recently upgraded from RH2015 to 2020. We retooled our conditional tags into 2 groups; Products and Features. There is text tagged for one of the Products at the content level within a topic.This is information intended for our internal support staff and not end users.The conditional expression I used in a test Output Preset excludes this Product.Looking at the generated output, the excluded text does not appear in the topic, however, when I search for it, it is returned in a text string below the Search box.  Not sure if this is meaningful but the Skin is a duplicate of Asure Blue with our logo. Thanks for any suggestions to resolve this issue. 

Hi all, When I click on any microcontent tile on my homepage it doesn't navigate to the relevant microcontent page but downloads the *.htm file for the microcontent (which is unformatted and not userfriendly).  How do you navigate to the Microcontent instead of downloading it? This is where is should go to:    My TOC looks like this:

I am attempting to create an output preset for Word in RH version 2019.0.7, but it is not listed under the Type drop-down menu in the New Preset window:Why would this be happening? Why is the option missing?Thanks in advance

How do I generate a mobile app successfully using the Mobile App output preset in RoboHelp? I am using RoboHelp 2019 ver. 2019.0.5. I have a PhoneGap account set up and am successfully validating user ID (below). When I try to generate the Mobile App preset I get an Output generation failed error message as follows:My problem may be lack of a P12 certificate file and the mobile provision file (below). I don't have a developers account with apple to obtain certification keys, so don't know if this is possible. Am asking the question.

Is it possible to add watermark effects to a particular image in Robohelp? If, yes, how to do that?

We are working with Terminalserver in our company. Actually we have a application server, where Robohelp is running. We plan to install Robohelp2020 on our Citrix environment in future. There we have 6 Terminalserver, which our workers are using.As Robohelp is restricted to two workstations, my question now is, if there is a solution for this?I think nowadays it is not unusal to work with Terminalserver solution. Is there anyone here who can help me in that case? Greetings, Marc

Hi All, I am generating a frameless output with an FAQ microcontent to Sharepoint but cannot open the FAQ page from Sharepoint. The main page works and I can even search for the FAQ intent and answers in the search box, however, the actual FAQ page does not load. I get an error message that the website is unavailable - for example it says the FAQ_Jaggaer_Online.aspx file is not available. When I search in the actual sharepoint folder there is no aspx file for the FAQ microcontent. If I simply click on the FAQ_Jaggaer_Online.htm file in Windows explorer it works fine. The issue seems to be with opening the site from sharepoint. I have attached some screenshots of the sharepoint folder structure & files. Please help!Thanks,Felix

Hi, my company has RH 2020 subscription. In error, a co-worker who couldn't get into our corp acct, started a RH Trial 2019 account. They created many projects in this trial version. We cannot get access to 2019 where these projects are. It's asking for a license key, which we don't have. We do have a subscription for 2020. Is there any way to retrieve these? thank you! 

Thank you Peter for telling this. I indeed see it when I check for updates from the RoboHelp menu. The what's new text shows the link https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/fixed-issues.html to see details, but these are not yet available. I guess that we just have to wait a while for the details to be published.

 

Update 8 is now available. It is certified for Windows 11 and contains many fixes. Note: If you are using 2020.0, see this thread to apply the update.   Post edited 30 July 2022. The original post was for Update 7 but Update 8 has since been released.

Hello, I use RH 2019 classic to generate chm help files and release notes.I would like to know how to adress next need.We compile small modification that are published via build (kind of release note, but more elaborated) and once a year a major release. The major release will contain succesive new topics from prevouis builds.For a new build with a small set of changes, it is ok to have the topics uncategorized, but for the major release we want those topics to be organised in chapters, groups  or something like that. Those chapters are know at the creation of the topic.We create the topic via Project manager and a toc via TOC view. Ideally, I would like to add a kind of metadata to the topic, that will contain a field for build number and a field for a functiongroup (eg sales, warehouse, etc) or category. Is there a mechanism that would create an overview of selected topics and drop them in a new page (a toc, but then in a topic), where the metadata is shown too? Ideally it shoul

In classicversions of RH, the toolbar had a Save icon that saved the changes to the topic that you were currently looking at, and a Save All icon that saved changes to everything you had made changes to during the session.  RH 2020 has only one Save icon that saves all changes to all items.There are many times when I have mulitple items opened and only want to save changes to one of the items I'm working with. Is there any way to do that without closing all the items I don't want to save the changes in?

I am using RH2020.6.76.  Last year, I inquired about setting up a landing page to deliver content to specific audiences, but allow all the content to be shared through cross-referencing embedded in a topic after the topic has loaded.  Peter Grainge pointed me to some information, and now that I have the workflow on what is wanted. I'm wondering if this is possible with conditional tags, dynamic content filtering, and adding a string to a URL to identify the tag.  

Hi there,I'm trying to edit the header hyperlinks in a frameless SKIN: I don't know where I add information that the Features and About links would link to? And I'd like to add an email link to the Feedback, but I don't know where I go to control these hyperlinks.  I hope I'm asking this clearly enough.   Or, I may want to remove the features and about links altogether, I'm not sure, yet, either way, I need to know where to control these links.  Thank you for your help!Carmela
