Hello,I am at a complete loss at what to do and hoping someone can explain this to me in easy to follow directions. I am looking to combine 32 child projects ("unmerge") into 1 project to work easily with Zendesk and Github. With that being said, I had orginally had tried to do this in Robohelp2019 (as my coworker who used to do this left directions for me before she exited the company) and it didnt work. I contacted Adobe and was told I needed to upgrade to Robohelp2020 first before unmerging all the projects and putting them into one project. I did that and I tried to follow this article https://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/using/manage-projects.html. Unfortunately still no luck and Im running out of time to get this done. Can someone explain this to me easily? Im new to understanding this part of Robohelp . To confirm Im looking to take the 32 child projects, which now each have a .rhph file, and create one project with all that information. Thank you
Hello! Does anyone know if Smart Index Wizard has been added to RH 2020 interface. We have been using it in RH 2019 Classic, and we recently switched to RH 2020. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!
Hi all, I'm trying out the PDF function of 2020.5, but have found something that, if I understand it correctly, is a step backward over the RH 2019 PDF output. My situation:I have an online project which consists of nested TOCs. There is one big PDF wich is a printout of the complete project, for people who prefer to use PDF over online. All my topics start with H1. Some of them have a mini TOC using bookmarks and have H2 inside them. The current nested TOC goes approximately 3 levels deep, sometimes (but not often) 4 levels. The topics must be usable at any depth of the TOC, so I cannot use H2 or H3 as the main topic header. In RH 2019, this all worked fine. I could insert topics at any level of the TOC and the indents in the printed TOC would move accordingly. The printed TOC matched the online TOC exactly, so that even support people could point users over the phone to the correct PDF topic while using the online help themselves. However, with 2020, if I understand it correctl
Hi There, I got a new laptop at work and currently have the 2019 Classic, 2019 and 2020 versions of Robohelp installed on my old laptop. I need to have all three on my new laptop because we are in the process of converting our files to 2020 but have not converted our largest Help file yet. When I tried to download 2019 Classic onto my new laptop I got this error message: Since it's a new laptop I have the latest operating system. I had no problem installing 2020 though. Can someone tell me why I'm getting this error code when trying to install 2019 Classic? Thanks, Julianna
Hi Everyone,I am working on a project using a default skin and the usual components on the homepage and topic pages ie. buttons, TOC and MiniTOC etc.The difference between my TOC and MiniTOC is that the Mini TOC has all Heading 2 broken into items on the relevant topic page.So this means on the topic page the user can either scroll down the page past the various headings or click on any of the sub-links listed in the MiniTOC to navigate on the topic page.I would like to remove the MiniTOC on the right completely and have the same level of detail added into the default TOC.Please can I have some assistance on how to accomplish this? Currently I have removed the MiniTOC but struggling to add the same level of detail listed in my TOC.Any Support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in AdvanceRegards,Davendren
I recently converted from RH19 to RH20. Our tables styles didn't migrate over properly. For instance, embedded/nested tables are extending out past the larger table. The settings have terms I'm not familiar with and the RH guide doesn't explain what they are either (ex. sticky, in-line flex, etc.). Can anyone shed some light on how I fix this?
I am generating a PDF from RoboHelp 2019. The TOC seems to correctly reflect my defined Table of Contents. However the PDF bookmark hierarchy is incorrect. It seems to be a straight listing of topics regardless of the TOC hierarchy or heading levels. This is especially problematic because the PDF defaults to opening the bookmark panel. Has anyone else seen this or have a fix for this issue?
I have a style I'm currently using for headings. Since you cannot delete "Heading 1" from the list of styles, I'd like to copy the settings for my existing style to "Heading 1." Is there an easy way to do it? Since Heading 1 doesn't exist in my .css file, I can't just copy and past the text.
Hi all,I'm using RoboHelp 2020.6.76.I'm having trouble with the chm file opening under our application window. I have tried setting the "Top-Most" Window Setting when I generate the .chm, (and tried the same with it unset), and get the same result. Also seem to have the same trouble when I change the default window size - no matter what size I choose, the window opens the same size and under our application. It's like the chm is ignoring the settings in the Window Settings file (called "defaultsize" in the screenshot below). I have spoken to our developer and he is NOT applying any rules on the application's call to the .chm file that would cause it to open underneath, or doing anything that should override my "top-most" instruction... The file used to open on top of the application as expected... we applied a couple of RoboHelp patches in the fall - could it be an introduced issue? I'm stuck! Is this a known bug? Any workarounds? Any ideas welcome.
Customer Service team.I have one chance left to contact you through this community, as I am sure you are reading it.I regularly contact you with various questions, but I should note that only a small part of them are solved. What is even more annoying is that unsolved cases are simply closed without any solution or explanation from your side.I find this kind of support service unsatisfactory. My attempts to discuss this situation with someone from management did not arouse Adobe's interest.I hope you still care about your customers' feedback.
Hi, I am trying to add external web pages as new topics to TOC with RoboHelp 2020, but the program always says "Skipped copying pages". It was possible with RoboHelp 2017.Does anyone have any idea how to help me?
HiRegarding review. Link is generated and using https://robohelp.adobe.com/ I can see the page. Problem is page keep loading and content is not shown?
Hi Everyone. In RH 2020.6.76, when I try to generate Word output, I get the simple error message: "Failed to generate [name of TOC]" I've read a bunch of forum threads, leading me to these troubleshooting efforts:Sample project -- output successfulTried removing my CSS -- output failsTried setting all style mappings to "Use Word default" -- output failsTried setting Master Page to "none" -- output failsTried outputting a different TOC to Word -- output failsTried outputting an older version of this project -- output successful NOTE: There's one major difference between my current project and the older version: when creating my current project, Adobe Tech Support had me create a new project and import all my topics from the older version. (We were troubleshooting an issue with the Online Review feature.) Here's what I see when right-clicking the output preset: Any advice for me? Thank you!
I understand that Adobe has eliminated the extremely convenient and speedy way to create a PDF document of topics on the fly. I have tried to use the 2019 workaround of creating a ToC and configuring an output preset I called PrintPDF. I did all that, but the effort fails due to JAVA. I think I'm toast. Error Message:Failed to generate PrintPDF. Java installation could not be verified. See output logs for more details.Log Details:Java not found. See if Java 1.8(64-bit) or higher is installed and JAVA_HOME environment variable is also set.Java installation could not be verified. See output logs for more details.Failed to generate PrintPDF.
I am constantly having requests for a PDF of topics within a TOC folder. I used to be able to do that within seconds. But with 2019, I understand it becomes a time-consuming process. Has this ability been restored to 2020?
I have old Robohelp projects that I want to upgrade to Robohelp 2020. Unfortunately, it seems to be impossible to import skins from Robohelp 2015 to Robohelp 2020.Is there any workaround?/Anders
I'm using Robohelp 19 Classic. I have a bunch of styles that show up in the Styles and Formatting pane that do not appear in my .css file and based on a text search of the html files also do not appear to be used in any project files. When I right-click and choose Delete, I get a prompt asking me if I'm sure I want to delete. I say Yes. And the style remains. Since it's not in the .css file I can't delete it directly from there. How can I delete these unused styles?
I created a multi-level bulleted list style for our project that goes round, square, circle, repeat. For some reason I don't understand, the Level 1 style bullet and text is noticeably smaller than Level 2, despite them being the same font size. It's also not the same size as the Level 4, which is the same bullet style repeated. Any ideas what could be causing this?Here's the style:p.RoundSquare {--autonumber: autonumber;--prefix-size: 10px;--prefix-fixed-size: true;--prefix-gap: 8px;--vertical-spacing: 0px;--list-indent: 0px;position: relative;font-family: Arial;font-size: 1em;color: #000000;line-height: 150%;margin-top: 6pt;margin-bottom: 4pt;margin-left: calc(var(--list-indent) + var(--prefix-size) + var(--prefix-gap));}p.RoundSquare:before {counter-increment: p\.roundsquare1;content: counter(p\.roundsquare1, disc);text-align: right;position: absolute;left: calc(-1 * var(--prefix-size) - var(--prefix-gap));margin-right: var(--prefix-gap);width: var(--prefix-size);overflow: hidden;}p
Why are some of my topic titles the name of thefile, instead of the title: In the above example, HIPAA walkthroughs is fine, but HIPAA scripts is the file name. The properties clearly shows the title is HIPAA scripts.By the way -- this morning everything was fine, I re-opened my project this afternoon, and noticed the chagnes in the topic titles. I didn't change anything in the titles. thanks for your help!Carmela Wilbur
Apologies if this is very difficult to interpret! One of those things that's tricky to explain... Are there any known issues merging child projects at different "levels" with a parent's table of contents? For example, if my parent project had a single child project merged in to create an initial section/book, but then a second section/book ( say "chapter 2", where this section has been created within the parent itself) which consisted of multiple child projects merged in? To confirm - I'm not suggesting any *content* (by way of topics) within the parent project, simply some sections so I can have multiple children within the same book. I will ensure the child projects are all located at the same level in terms of the files themselves (as per the merged demo by Peter Grainge, which has been incredibly helpful!)I've tried this myself and so far, so good... however my grand plan involves 33 child projects (!) so would love to know ahead if there are any reasons this might cause issue
Can you install RoboHelp 2015 alongside RoboHelp 2020? I need to be able to access old projects in the old version so I need both installed on the machine.
Is there any way to contact Adobe about support for Robohelp?
RH2019.0.8, New UI. Azure skin for HTML5 output. I have added a custom square logo file to the Azure skin with Layout > Header > Logo. The image shows up in the editor, but does not appear in the HTML output. You can only see the background color of the header in the output, but not the image. I have tried different image resolutions, moving the image as far back as possible in the layers, different image types (svg, png, jpg), different color depths, nothing works. The original logo file that comes with the skin (logo.png) displays just fine. What am I doing wrong?
Hello all,I tried to configure integration with Git but didn't manage to do it successfully. I gave up at this point and just use git bypassing the built-in integration. However, I'm not sure whether the gitignore list is correct. I wouldn't want to push any files that shouldn't be pushed to the server. The ignore list from the Classic client is obviously not relevant anymore, because of a diffierent file structure. I haven't found any information regarding the ignore file list for the New UI client. If any of you have such information, I'd appreciate if you shared it. Maybe you use git integration, configured successfully - if so, could you please check how your gitignore file looks like? Thanks.
Hi everyone, For the last 2 years, we've had the persistent problem of fonts, despite appearing in the RoboHelp editor, not appearing into the PDF format output. This is often the case for fonts that must be installed, for example - such as Ubuntu. Can anyone assist? Version: 2020.6.76.
