Hi Im trying to recreate roundedness effect from the video shown below (9:10) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csSutepJyEUI double checked my work and made sure to use the same template but when I try following along all I come up with is a flat line as seen below I have attached a image of my workflow and a copy of my work below. Any help would be greatly appreciated
As much an observation as a question, why are the Adobe 3-D products so removed from the creative suite? There seems to be almost no interface crossover to allow designers to build on existing skills.Secondly the cost of the subscription is an entirely separate option not offered as an upgrade to the existing creative suite. As of 2022, Adobe was thought to have approximately 23 million creative cloud subscribers. As a professional graphic designer of 30+ years experience, I would have thought the concept of being able to offer my clients "some" product modelling or even digitally recreate products and map them into a real world scene seems like a no brainer.Work with me here guys, 20% extra to be able my clients some 3D using parst of my existing skill sets IE:Ctrl + - Zoom in - Out etcImport AI files for extrue shape paths
Im having an issue with one image im running through a oil painting script. The resolution is 2048x1024 but the default res throughout the script is 2kx2k. is there a way to set the entire script to match the resolution of the original image? When I export, everything looks stretched. This is what I'm getting so far. The background is coming out very stretched.
Hello! I've been running into an issue with rivets along edges, and not sure how to solve it. I'd like to have them like in the image. Masking out the edges and using a tile sampler yields random results, tried vector maps and cant get that to work either. Starting to think maybe FX map or pixel processor but I have no idea how either of those work.. Any ideas? Thanks!
I want to take a qucikly array for my model like some Pipe . But I have no way to import anything other than scene into the model graph anyway . And also can't found about 'package model graph node group' in the documentation .So , real haven't this function now ? Or , just because I'm not found that . PS: I just study Substance model graph one week and I don't know how to ues function ...
Steam 2021 Substance Designer. When using Substance Designer to create basic materials. I want to make channels that can use Position and WorldSpacenormal maps. Since the color space used for these two maps is RGB, I can only use the Input color node. But this node he can't export as a channel. How can I create this channel.
Hello,Bit of an odd one this but I'm aware of where to save my fbx's so I can view them by default in the "Scene" list of the 3D View in Substance Designer, see image "Custom Mat Ball".However the issue I seem to have is that whenever Substance Designer automatically updates, it gets rid of any fbx files I've saved to the ProgramFiles/Resources path etc.So my question is:Is there somewhere I can save my meshes where they won't get removed following an update? In the Documents folder for Designer perhaps? How do I go about this, specific naming of folders etc? Thanks and I hope that is clear enough.Dan
Hi everyone!I need some help. I am trying to create stylized rock pattern and now i want to add some cracks on its corners. Those cracks should be triangular and be of different sizes. And now it's a bit tricky to me how achieve that result. Some people tell me to use slope blur but using slope blur usually gives a rounded result, but what i need are cracks with sharp corners. Do someone have any ideas how to make it? I'll be very glad for any help.Result should be something like this
Hi, I'm working on a material that will only have a base color output. And I'm trying to create a baked light effect, but I can't achieve a glossy or metallic effect.I found a material in the substance painter that gives the desired effect.(attached a screenshot)How can I get similar functionality?
Hi gang!First of all, and I know how cheesy this may sound to you, but I'd still like to thank Adobe for making this amazing software available for purchase on Steam, thus with a perpetual license. Buy once, use as long as you want. I discovered this last week and treated myself to a Substance Painter & Designer license because I was convinced that this would enhance my 3D setup tremendously. Now I dare say that this was actually a bit of an understatement! 😁 The combination of these two still, well, amazes me. But enough rambling. Sorry, I had to share because trust me when I say that I am extremely satisfied & excited about all the new possibilities I now got. And I've only been using this for a week! Question for you guys... I see a lot of YouTube videos where people want to build a material preset and then start off with one of the "Metallic roughness" templates. To be honest I never liked any of those templates because you start off with a seve
I have used 3D software in the past, but a long time ago!! Are there any pointers on how to get started? Can i import drawings to get started?Any help or advice would be hugely appreciated! I only have a 30 day trial so need to give this a good go before trying something else!
Hello everyone, I already have SD 2020 (purchased on Steam) which is now expired. I am planning to purchase SD 2022 once released on Steam. Wondering how can I upgrade to this new version? Do I need to treat it as new software and create a new account on "substance3d.com" or the existing connected account on "substance3d.com" will still work? Please help me understand the process. Any response would be highly appreciated.
Hello Im new to designer and im trying to correct this weave so it aligns right but can't seem to figure it out. I attached a image of my workflow and my actual work down below. Any help would be greatly apperciated
Hi there,Recently i've encountered a very annonying bug with Substance Designer in which designer crashes when I attemp to link a 3D Mesh. The window pops up and immediately crashes the tool. I've tried reinstalling, but it still crashes. I've managed to work around this by going to Link > Other, and loading meshes that way, but I'd love to know why linking 3D meshes is crashing. Note: it's not my mesh that's crashing the application, I don't even get that far, the tool has crashed before I can pick anything mesh to link. It could be because my previous path towards linking a mesh no longer exists as I archived some files, but why would that crash the entire application?!
I've noticed when using a cube to preview my material in Substance Designer that the bevel I apply looks quite warped at certain angles. If I switch to a rounded cube or cylinder however, everything looks clear and sharp. I was curious as to why this is? Is it related to the geometry of the mesh? When I export this and use it in other programs will I encounter similar issues?Screenshot:
I used Visible for some parameters.Inside the designer and player, the parameters are displayed correctly. But when I load the SBSAR file into Painter, all the parameters are displayed as if I did not use the visible if code. How can I solve the problem?
Hi everyone. So that's the problem : Internet connection disables when I run substance designer.I'm 100% sure than it it happens when I run designer.I have no administrator rights on this PC so I can't block any connections for substance designer. How can I fix this issue?
I'm looking for a way to take a model I've created in a 3D Model graph and output the height of that model to use in a regular substance graph. There doesn't seem to be a straightforward way of doing this. Has anyone tried or can point me in the right direction?
Is there a good way to view the output of the Function Graph? I find myself trying to test what I'm doing to ensure that my results are correct, however, I can't seem to find a good way to view the results of a section of my graph. I know I can set the output at that point in the graph, however, it will only update the pixel values. Is there a way to see just what the Function Graph is doing in the viewer?
Hi All,Just wondering if I've either missed something simple or if anyone has accomplished this in SD.All of the native SD warp tools look to work only in 2d texture space. What I need to do is take for example a 3d noise then warp that but using the position map as the basis for the warp, if you just use the standard tools you will get issues as it warps outside of the UV boundaries. As a workaround to get the effect (and demonstrate what I'm trying to achieve) I'm currently taking the output into a 3rd party program blender in this case and warping the vertex position in 3d space but one the surface whilst leaving the UV cords in the same place which works and I can build a workflow around it but it feels like I should be able to do this all in SD. Anyone got any bright ideas ?
HiI made a series of graphs in a designer file which I'm going to export them as as sbsarSo I have some questions:1. How can I join all graphs in one and recall them by a input, ( I mean in despite lots of file in library of painter, there is a one file but an input parameter that user can choose different result 2. How can I set a stamp in painter to have negative height values not positive
Wonder if anyone ever managed to do a node that extract masks from a cryptomatte exr rendered in 3d soft ? Is it at all possible in SD?
Hi guys, inside the baking tool (Bake model Information) seems I'm forced to export maps with an Output Name in full lowercase.why? is there a way to avoid it ? Thanks
So I'm trying to learn how to model in the modeling graph of designer. And I keep on running into an issue that I can't find a resolution for in the documentation and I am bit confused as to how to fix it. This seems to happen a lot with curves and I'm sure it's something silly that I'm missing but it's been with the extrude curve note and the parametric curve node. I would appreciate any assistance thank you in advance.
