I would like to know what's the current status on 16K/32K textures support, both for work in software & file export across all Substance 3D software, including Painter, Designer, Sampler & Stager? I'm also curious about why in the past Substance is always lacking behind on 8K/16K/32K supports? Is it just because Substance software are utilizing real-time rendering and thus there is hardware limitation? How does film/VFX industry who also use Substance software to cope with these limitations? I guess UDIM? But that doesn't explain the hardware limitation part.
Hello. I recently received an art test for a material artist cannidate. I am trying to review the test, however I got the follow errors that I can't figure out how to fix. "Update file version from "1.1.0.201904" to "1.1.0.202102"I say yes to all and then it says "The following dependency could not be loaded "substancePlugins/nondirectional_warp.sbs""The following dependency could not be loaded "substancePlugins/CellularFractal_OLD6.sbs""The following dependency could not be loaded "DeteLowPassing.sbsar""The following dependency could not be loaded "substancePlugins/Get_Slope"To my knowledge , these are built in nodes. I can't find anywhere on the web of where to get these plugins to point the designer file to. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I've subscribed to the Substance 3d package, and have only had access to the applications for the initial 30 day trial. They all still show up in "Apps to try".I've followed the steps in this post:https://helpx.adobe.com/manage-account/kb/stop-creative-cloud-trial-mode-after-purchase.htmland still, they aren't working. I can't even purchase the package again, as when I click buy, it says I already own it!I've been paying for these apps and I can't use them!
Hello fellow Substance 3D Designers, I am a new program user and I am trying to create this pattern: I can easily create the general triangle pattern and I know that I can use a tile sampler node to mask some of the the triangles, but I would like to mask them using a somewhat "gaussian distribution" as shown in this pattern. I'd also like it to be tileable. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I'm a designer beginner and I'm having a difficult time getting materials to look right when sent from designer to painter. I think it has something to do with how I authored my graph and maybe I'm not quite understanding how to author normal maps and such. Any help is much appreciated! I've shared my files.
Hey all! I'm currently doing a bit of research for my company to upgrade to Substance 3D Designer from the Non-Adobe CC installed version, and I am unable to find the info I need. For context, we are still using the non-CC verion and want to upgrade to the newest one, we found the upgrade and update process of the old version of the application to be quite disruptive across outsourcing and within our studio and we want to know if that process might be smoother now. With the new version of the app, are graphs created in a newer version backwards compatible If only partially so, which version updates are backwards compatible and which aren't. would 11.2.1 be able to open an 11.3.1 file, or is it that version 11 wont be able to open version 12 graphs? Some other situation? Thanks!
This has been a pretty consistent issue for some time now. I typically tear my 3D view window off and put it on a secondary monitor, but if I maximize the window I am no longer able to open any of my menus. My workaround has been to unmaximize the window and drag it out to take up as much of the screen real estate as it can. Anyone else experiencing this and is Adobe aware of it? Thanks!
Hi All,I'm noticing that some of my exposed paramters are not visible via a published .sbsar file when used as a node in a graph however when using the .sbs file as a node in the graph all the parameters are now visible... Is this a known issue and if so is there currently a workaround or is it requiring a system fix from the devs? Thanks,Dan
How do I get metadata to be stored within the SBS file as so that it can be read within a file manager. As applying metadata though Substance Designer isn't apply to the file properties and unreadable within a file manager.
Hi, I am wondering if 3D modles of furniture I make on AutoDesk Inventor and Solidworks, can be imported into the Substance programs and fully worked on? Thanks.
I upgraded to 11.3.0 build 5258 unlike the previous version I was using until now; since upgrading, nothing is seen in the 3D view ?
I want to add an emissive map to my base material in substance desinger but I cant seem to do that.in my 3D veiw when I go to, Material > Default > Edit, I have thisbut it makes the whole object glow and I cant find a way to add an emisive texture to control what it glows.I've tried looking online and I could only find help with substance painter stuff which is not what I want since I am using designer. If someone could help me with this that would be awesome. Thanks 🙂
Hello, Alltough I set the Application language to english (International) Substance Designer always installs in german tried it four times now.I work on a german PC but everything is named different in german so its impossible for me to work efficiently with the german language inside Designer. How can this be fixed? Every other application installs in english (Photoshop and InDesign). Switching the language to English (US) doesn't help either. Also setting the Primery Language in my Adobe Acount to english didnt help. Thanks,Marvin
Hello,I spend two days trying to learn how to create brunt wood patterns like this following image. I've notice creating variation brick like pattern with "zig-zag" edge isn't easy as I thought after I've used or combne node with tile generator/sampler/random, cell 2 and 4, shapes, splatter, distance and etc. Can anyone give some suggestion, tips or etc on which pattern node to begin with?
Hello everyone, what GPU Nvidia card would you recommend for Adobe 3d Substance collection as to all of those 4 new applications, optimal use. I did check https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/spdoc/technical-requirements-172824034.html but it is not answering my question fully. Maybe you can list a couple of GPUs that will be released next year or couple of words if there a reason to get 3070/80/ti's thanks
Hi, I have a question. If I subscribe to substance 3d. Can I convert 3d assets to a game and use them commercially by sharing game files ? Thank you
I tried Medium a year ago and want to create 3d from within my Oculus Quest Headset today. But Adobe did some changes to the 3D apps and now I dont understand how its connected, what I need, and how to enjoy creating 3d models in VR? Please someone explain.
Hi everyoneI recently developed some ornaments in substance Designer to add to a dress that I create in Marvelous designer. The problem is that I can't find a way to export each PNG image in transparency and what to do to adapt these ornaments to the different parts of the dress, which are curved.
I couldn't find the link to UserVoice so thought I'd make a post instead, I think it would be really beneficial to designer if you could enter the information into multiple nodes at the same time. For Example, selecting multiple material inputs in a graph and be able to fill out attribute information, like Group or Visible If, all at once. (see image) with only a few inputs I can understand but when things start getting big like with the multi material blend node having upwards of 90 input nodes, this would be super handy vs entering info into each individual node one at a time
Hello, is there a way to create a true, physical, 3 dimensional wood material in Substance in the same way that you can create in 3ds Max using the Advanced Wood Map and the Physical Material? Here is a link to a 3ds Max tutorial on Advanced Wood Map on the Physical Material.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KoVsXAZra2g I have searched for Substance tutorials showing something similar, but can't find anything. Any help would be greately appreciated. Thanks Dan
i need to know how to made this by using pixel processor form scratch ?!
I noticed that Designer has the ACES color management options. I use them in Substance Painter and there was a lot more documentation and helpful videos that directed me to the correct settings. I was wondering if I could get some help doing the same in Designer. I changed my color management to OpenColorIO and the config to ACES 1.0.3. After restart, the brightest whites almost look mid-grey. What are the appropriate settings for a Designer to Unreal workflow? Thanks so much,Kyle
Since yesterday, Substance Designer keeps crashing on launch. It's the trial version and it's updated to the latest version.I started a chat, tried all the fixes the bot suggested me, asked to talk with a human being just to be more specific and this is the answer: I called the help number (i'm from Italy) and nobody answers. Thanks, Adobe
I'm tryiing to edid curve points in SD but the whole thing just keep crashing after i run this piece. Any suggestions ?
