HiI see subscriber user can download 30 substance file/month from substance sources. What if I click send to substance sampler/substance designer, does they count one download? Other question, what does it mean: 100GB of storage (30 days of versioning)? ThankTravis
Is there a way in SD to select all upstream or downstream nodes from single/multiple nodes? Also, is there a way to "auto arrange" nodes upstream/downstream so that every node is laid out nice and tidy? (3ds Max Slate Material Editor has a handy "lay out children" function) Re-arranging and moving nodes around sometimes can be very tedius and flow-killing.
Hello!I want to create a simple window as a decal (https://substance3d.adobe.com/assets/allassets/1f277a249360d2bdfc01eda06cceaeb67da3ece8?q=decal), don't need it to be parametric, but i can't understand how to mask unneeded portions of texture.Maybe there is a tutorial somewhere? Thanks!
I figured out the reaction diffuse node exists. I was trying to make something similar with this but you need some sort of a base pattern to make it point towards the center like this and connect without overlaps. As far as I know you can't control the spacing between lines in the diffuse node either. Does anyone got tips on how to recreate this? Thanc
I have been paying Full price for CC for Years, with the promise that it included all New Programs and updates, Why is Substance excluded from this Promise. Another who cares about the faithful customers and Profit Play by Adobe?
Hi all,My filter menu covers entire screen when using single monitor and becomes too small if I use second monitor (even though designer is on the monitor with higher resolution). For both cases screenshots are attached. Is there a way to make it normal size?
Hi, recently I decided to try Substance 3D Designer on my Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop. It has AMD 5600H processor and Nvidia 3060 GPU on board. This config, as I thought, could suit my needs very well, but when I started making any nodes and any operations with them are very laggy. It would be better to show, so here a video. The most curios thing is that my performance metrics shows that CPU and GPU are not loaded at all (like 2-3% only) and there is still 60% of free RAM available. I also tried my desktop with AMD 3800 and Nvidia 1050ti and it works really smooth! Maybe someone can help me fix that problem? I also include error log, maybe it can help.
Hi,I wish if there is a webspace that shares SIMPLE and PRIMITIVE ideas of graph usage. Adobe Substance 3D Community Assets is useful, but the assets on the website seem to be stored for specific materials like wood patterns, metals, and fabric patterns, which limits to get free inspiration. For example, when you want to make the material for the surface of Venus, you can get more free inspirations with "50 kinds of MOTTLED PATTERN making", "10 kinds of BRANCHED PATTERN making", or, centering on substance graph, "100 simple patterns made with Non-Uniform Blur" than with the "How to make OAK SURFACE" material. That is in my opinion :). (I searched for a web place where the simple and primitive usages are aggregated and tidy, but I could not find it. Is there good space?)
Is Double sided Bevel with Extrude Curve node possible? Or orientation of extrusion in model graph. I am attempting to create a procedual barrel base mesh using strickly curve nodes within substance designer 3d model graph. I am adding a handle currently using extrude curve node. The only issue I am having is that the bevel only occurs on one side of extrude. Is it possible to extrude it on both sides or orient it to the other side. As a second note, does anyone have a solution to the "Error: PreProcessFailed" when expoting to a model graph. Thanks.
I'm trying to use Substance Designer's Gradient Editor node "Pick Gradient" (iMac running OS 11.5.2), to select a range of colors on a reference image. so I click Pick Gradient and attempt to drag my mouse over my reference image. When the cursor exits the Substance Designer window, however, all other windows vanish, leaving my desktop background image as the only image available. Am I using this tool incorrectly? How does one use this to select a range of colors from a reference image if windows running other applications do not remain active the cursor leaves the Ds window? Is there some way of importing images into Ds to use as reference?
I started using Substance Designer earlier this year but had to cancel my subscription for a few months. I recently got back to it and had to upgrade to the version using Creative Cloud rather than the Substance Launcher. Since then my node library is missing all of the more complex nodes like noises, patterns and PBR materials. The ones I already had in my graphs continue to work but I can't create new ones except by duplicating them. Things I've tried, to no avail:* Reinstalling several times, installing Substance painter, restarting the computer, doing all the previous after uninstalling all the previous Substance installs.* Erasing application data in User>Library>Application Support.* Creating a new Library window and closing the old one.* Leaving the window open overnight (this seems to have crashed Designer after a few hours).* Checking logs (can't be done, the entire folder they're supposed to be in is empty).* Rebuilding thumbnails in the Library settings (seems to
Hi,I am trying a substance 3d procedure modeling, and i duplicated a couple of meshes by using a curve and Array duplication node, and i am wondering that can i select a single mesh using a index like scene browser show? Another question is that is there any way that i can display a vertices of curve just like the documantation link shows below. https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/sddoc/split-curve-215286519.html#section2 Thx.
Would it be possible to design a 3D meat case using Substance 3D? We want to simulate different types of product placement as they'd appear in a grocery store. It would be similar to a planogram, but much more realistic. We'd want to be able to show the case at different angles and be able to move the products around.
I can't seem to figure out how to properly 'instance' variations of a mesh that I've created in a model graph. In a traditional material graph, you set up sliders and randomized inputs (like procedural noises that change based on the seed). You can then drag that material into another material graph to easily create variation by adjusting the sliders and seed values on that instance. Is there an equivalent functionality in model graphs? For example, I'm creating a grass blade mesh with various sliders and randomized values. I want to create several unique variants of the grass blade. But there doesn't seem to be a way to create an instance of that node graph that allows me to adjust the sliders or choose a different random seed. I can't drag a model graph into another model graph, and the 'geometry instancing' node only duplicates the exact input. It doesn't allow you to create new variants by adjusting the seed value or sliders. It feels like I'm missing something. Or i
I'm going through the Substance Designer model graph tutorial on my Mac and having frequent crashes. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Hallo zusammen. Wie macht ihr das, Adobe Substance 3D. und Photoshop zusammen arbeiten? Welches format nutzt nihr da in Adobe Substance 3D. für den Export in PS?Danke für die Hilfe
Hi,Are you planning to update your 3d plugins to be able to import/link a SBSM model into 3dsMax, Unreal or Unity?
Hello, Reading the update about how Dimension isn't really part of the Adobe roadmap any more (aside from stability updates, etc.)... I am wondering how it will affect my simple Dimension workflow. Currently, being new to 3D, I have one workflow with Dimension: Use it to bring in 3D models of waterbottles, color them, place decals on them, and export PNGs of them against a white/no background. I do not place the waterbottles into scenes with backgrounds, nor have any other object aside from the water bottle in the PNG. Reading for the first time about the Substance 3D Collection, it seems like S3D Stager would be overkill to learn for my workflow... would I use S3D Designer as a replacement for the work I do in Dimension? Thank you!
I am trying to set up a graph that is tied to a specific workflow and can be shared among artists, so I would like to have a cleaner graph without some nodes carry over the tweaked parameters. I want to reset certain nodes settings in one go but couldn't find a way to do it.So, is there a way to reset multiple nodes together in Substance Designer, instead of go to individual node and reset from the properties panel?
Hello, Thanks in advance for any help with this matter where the colors are much darker in 3ds Max Redshift material than they are in Substance Designer. Please note I used both Substance Player and Substance Designer to export bitmaps. Please see attached and let me know if there is some setting I can use in 3ds Max to correct this?In the past this happened before using Mental Ray material, so I am guessing this could be the same problem? Thanks!
Hi! I am making a leaf vein. I got two results from the similar graphs. Does anybody know why do these results differ? Settings: 2 Edge Detect graphs have the same settings. The Blend graph has Copy blend mode and 100% opacity.
Hi,I am looking for a workflow to export not only the tile I see, but also the one that would be on top/left/right/bottom relative to the visible texture. Since Designer is procedural, it should be capable of generating data "beyond" borders of the visible document. Is there some feature to export such "tiles"? One thing I found is the Tiling parameter of Materials->Default->Edit. Scaling it up, the texture gets smaller in a nonrepeating pattern. Thus the following imaginary workflow could work. Does somebody know how to actually do it?...1. Set Tiling to 22. Export upper left quadrant in full resolution (e.g. 4096)3. Export upper right quadrant in full resolution4. Export lower left quadrant in full resolution4. Export lower right quadrant in full resolution Maybe there's an easy Designer feature for this and I just don't know about it. Thank you
What I want to ask is whether a gradual color can be applied to an object. For example, if I make a petal, can I make a coloring node so that the petal can get a gradually changing color (such as the change from dark red to light red) at one time after blending with this node. Thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me
Hello community, I do photogrammetry work with products for my clients and create product visualization images and videos from them. Right now I just use Reality Capture, Photoshop and Blender for my work. At the moment , I'm working with a special kind of pillow but I'm having a lot of trouble getting the texture and color of the pillow to come out properly. So I thought maybe I could cut the pillow and place the fabric flat against the wall to create a seamless texture that I can use to texture the 3d model pillow with. I was able to create that with another app called PixPlant. However, when I try to apply the new texture maps to the model in Blender, it doesn't quite look right. When I try to define the seams for the UV Mapping, and apply the texture to it when creating a new material, it doesn't line up right. The geometry doesn't follow the seams of the pillow. I have tried remeshing and retopology tool, but it's still difficult to get the geometr
I am looking for some input on whether or not Substance is the best tool to create 3D designs like shown in the image? Your thoughts on Substance or other options would be greatly appreciated. Once designed I would like to be able to use the design to 3D print the product. Thanks!
