Nearly halfway through the release cycle for Modo 15, still no plugin. Zero information on whether this is still being developed, nothing for expected release dates. Is it time for Modo users to forget Substance and move on to alternatives?
Hi all, I will post this in Chaos group forums too. I am trying to use an sbsar shader with the substance2 map connection to a vray material. I just tweaked the color corrections a bit but in general it is a vanilla connection. So i start working and everything looks fine ... but after a while the shader loses connection. It appears white or black and then in general things crash. I have done two or three projects without substance so far and i didn't have any issues. So i am relatively confident that this issue is substance - vray related. Is there an updated susbstance plugin ? Am i doing anything wrong. I just load the sbsar file on an empty substance2 node and then i click substance to vray.
Hello everybody, this is my first post here. I have looked for information about it but I could not find any: I am implementing ACES workflow in Max/Vray. So far I think I understand the process. However, I do not know how can I transform the substances outputs into the correct RGB primaries / color space transfer function.I did not see that option in the plugin. Does that mean that if I want to use ACES workflow I have to generate the bitmaps (either with the plugin or substance player) and avoid using the plugin?I would really appreciate some help in clarifying this. Hi all, I came across this post where it was said that the Substance plugin does not support displacement yet in Unity 2020.2 and up. I'm using Unity 2020.3.8f1 and the Shader is URP/Lit. Hello 🙂 I am currently working on a android game trying to change substances in runtime.The substance is referenced by a script when I build the game (Caching Behavior paragraph) (https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/integrations/publishing-for-mobile-172823474.html). When I use the "Simulator" of Unity to test the game everything works fine - the textures are generated.Building works fine without any Errors, but when I start the game on android (Huawei P40 Pro) then it freezes. 1.) Do I have to put the .sbsar files in a specific folder so that they work runtime?2.) Does anyone have the same problem?3.) Is this a known issue and will it get fixed? Has anyone come across an issue where working with the substance node, at all, crashes maya straight to desktop? I can bring in a node. Add the .sbsar file, however as soon as I click "Create Shader Network," it crashes.If I bring in an old maya scene file that already had a substance node in the scene its fine if it runs off the baked textures. Unfortunately if you click " Reload," it crashes to desktop. Has anyone else run into this issue? any help would be much appreciated.
Hello, I'm setting up Redshift materials in Maya using SBSAR files, and in the documentation it shows an "Add New Workflow" button for automatically connecting outputs to a shader type. In the example, it shows it working for an Arnold shader. Problem is, I don't have this button in Maya 2019 with the Substance plugin. The documentation for this feature is here:https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/integrations/using-workflows-180191819.html There is even a documentation page for choosing Redshift as a default Workflow, but this is also missing for me:https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/integrations/redshift-for-maya-166363165.html I've attached a picture of my sbsar node settings in the Maya hypershade. Is this feature just not in the substance plugin for Maya 2019? Or is this feature missing for some reason?

I have been working on old 3DSMax tutorials during the recent LockDown and I am currently working on Material Editing and Mapping - came across 2011 Tutorial introducing Allegorithmic's plugin which was then available for Free as an Add On. Have been on Chat with Adobe they only support plugins for 2018 and above. I have a legacy version of Autocad Design Suite 2016 . Adobe Chat has advised I look for old Allegorithmic Plugins for 2016 [and presumably earlier versions 2015 and back]. Can anybody help//direct me to a source?
Using 3ds Max 2022 with Substance 2.4.4, VRay 5.1.2. When trying to use the Substance Environments with VRay, it crashes randomly when you change settings of the Substance. Doesn't matter if it is put into the Environment Map slot of the Environment and Effects dialog, or in a VRay dome light. Seems a little more stable if not using the GPU, but at some point changing the settings doesn't change anything, and shortly after it'll crash. If changing the settings during interactive rendering, it'll crash pretty quick. Lasts a little longer if I stop the interactive rendering, change a setting, then restart the rendering. But that only goes so far and crashes soon as well. Is there a better more stable method one should use to be able to use these environments?

I seem to have an issue with opting in to the prerelease to get the substance plugins. The button is grayed out and unclickable. Even messing around with some of the html does not allow me to open up the button.
Hi, I have just started looking into using the Substance plugin for UE4, and ran into a problem when following this tutorial: https://substance3d.adobe.com/tutorials/courses/substance-in-unreal-engine-4/youtube-2qU4rJGQp8A In the tutorial a material is created upon import, but when I follow the same method, I get a Material Instance instead, meaning I cannot open it in the Material Editor Graph. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Now that Substance Launcher is depricated, how do I use the Unreal UE4 Substance Plugin?I don't have Substance launcher installed on my machine, in UE4 when I press the Substance Plugin button it says "Substance Launcher Not Found, Please download from the website" When I press the link in the dialogue it takes be to a page that says Launcher is no longer available.
Hi there, been trying to use Substance Maya plugin in 2020. Using Vray - Next. But ran into a few problems upon importing the sbar. Firstly, i'm using a specific color transform (sRGB (ACES)), and whilst this isn't a problem for textures, since I convert them over to a utility sRGB texture color space automatically using the colour space rules, the substance plugin however gets confused and freaks out. I import the sbar fine, click on the node in the hypershade, and create a base color output. This is where it fails. The imported file is pink, and for the life of me I have no idea why. It imports the file with a sRGB color space, something that my custom OCIO config doesn't support since I have a custom one, but that isn't the problem, since if there's no specific color space to apply then it will just default. The issue lies between importing the texture and creating a link to the material itself. I've included some pictures to illustrat
I'm trying to use a sbar "Dirty Concrete Block Building" I downloaded from substance source in Maya(2020.4) with VRay (5.00.23) and I'm having an issue with the emissive channel not displaying properly. When I import it the emissive chanel is working correctly and when I toggle emissive on and off the problem goes away but emissive is no longer working properly. The Rendering workflow I'm using is for VRay Next as there does not seem to be an option for VRay 5.0 yet.
I am part of a team working on a project that involves loading many substance materials that have been converted to redshift materials inside of Cinema 4D. The problem we are experiancing is that as soon as we load the second substance based material the substance links seem to break on the second and subsequent materials. We get errors like the following image, showing that the shader it not found.We found this page from adobe that seems to imply this may be a current limitation of substance and that each material will need to be manually re-linked. https://substance3d.adobe.com/documentation/integrations/visual-feedback-of-animated-substances-1185...Are there any known workaround that could help us avoid having to manually relink everyhting

The download buttons for the Modo plugin are never available to click. I had some open issues on the previous forum and was hoping the fixes came in with the recent updates. https://substance3d.adobe.com/plugins/substance-in-modo/
Hello, Im having a problem with downloading substance plugin for 3ds max. When im clicking download, the page redirectes me to a page with a word "null" and i cannot download the plugin.
