Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you're just joining us, we've already covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape, DUIK Ángela, and Motion Tools Classic, all worth a look. This time we're looking at a big one for anyone who does motion graphics, social content, or fast-turnaround client work. If you've ever wished you had a library of ready-made transitions and elements you could just drag into a comp, the AEJuice Starter Pack is exactly that, and it's free. Meet the AEJuice Starter PackThe AEJuice Starter Pack is a free collection of 100+ drag-and-drop motion graphics assets, delivered through AEJuice's Pack Manager panel. Instead of building common elements from scratch every time, you browse a visual library right inside After Effects, drag what you need onto your timeline, and keep moving.A nice bonus: the Starter Pack works in Premiere Pro too, so it's not just an After Effects tool. What you can do with itThe Starter Pack packs a lot into
Welcome back to our series on free After Effects resources from across the web. If you missed the earlier posts, we covered Camera Crew by Motion Ape and DUIK Ángela, both well worth a look. This time we're keeping it simple, with a small toolkit that a lot of you have probably already used without thinking about it. Motion Tools Classic is one of those tools that just quietly speeds up the boring parts of every animation. Meet Motion Tools ClassicMotion Tools Classic, from the team at Motion Design School, is the original free version of Motion Tools, the everyday animation toolkit that's been trusted by motion designers since 2017. In a world of heavy, do-everything plugins, this one goes the other way on purpose. It's a small, focused set of the tools you actually reach for every day, with nothing extra to get in the way.And it's completely free. What you can do with itMotion Tools Classic keeps things tight and practical:Easing – apply and adjust easing with clean, simple controls
Hello Adobe team,I am experiencing a startup crash with Adobe After Effects 2025 version 25.1.0.68 on Windows. After Effects crashes during startup, and Windows Event Viewer reports that the faulting module is: Faulting application name: AfterFX.exeFaulting application version: 25.1.0.68Faulting module name: microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dllFaulting module version: 1.24.4.0Exception code: 0xc0000409Faulting module path:C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll The corresponding onnxruntime.dll in the same Adobe folder is also version 1.24.4.What I foundI confirmed that the problem appears to be related to the 1.24.4 AI/ML runtime. With the original files:microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dll 1.24.4.0onnxruntime.dll 1.24.4 After Effects 25.1 crashes on startup. However, I backed up the original 1.24.4 files and replaced both DLLs with the following matching 1.17 build: microsoft.ai.machinelearning.dllVersion: 1.17.20240223.
I consistently experience a problem when trying to select a font for a Text Layer using the Properties Panel or Character Panel. Typing anything in the font combobox to search for a font produces the following error:After Effects warning: Unknown BIB Error. bad INDEX offset array, CT, 0 (83::3)Dismissing the error by clicking OK, the error immediate pops up again, rendering After Effects unusable from this point forward. Additionally, if the project is not saved and an initial save prompt is displayed in the middle of the infinite loop of the above errors, saving or dismissing the Save As dialog will cause After Effects to then crash. Steps to reproduce:1. Create a text layer.2. Open the Properties Panel or Character Panel3. With the text layer selected in the timeline, focus the font combobox in the Properties Panel or Character Panel and begin typing. The "INDEX" in all caps makes me wonder if it's a property of a particular font that is trying to be read during enumer
Hi, I’ve been running into this bug for a while now. I’ve been running into a lot of issues with reconforming audio that come from linked After Effects files. I know it’s not the best workflow to have audio coming from my AE files, but in my use case, I need these sounds to always be perfectly synced with the AE comps, that are also shared with team members. But these are the issues i’m getting:-when using Premiere with Dynamic Linked AE files I have to typically have to wait for audio to conform on my AE files everytime I open a file, even if it’s been untouched.-It also happens if I make a change in a AE comp (not to the audio), even a comp that’s not being used by Premiere, it will still think it needs to reconform the audio that IS being used in Premiere.-Occaisionally, it will randomly unconform without reason.-Lastly, If I have my After Effects closed, it will sometime not conform that audio until I re-open that After Effects project. One thing to note, is that our setup is using L
I am relatively new to AE, but havent had this issue before. I have a few files that simply crash when trying to open on mac. They get to about 40% (although that varies slightly file to file, but seem to be in that region), but then just get the spinning beach ball and they dont progress. I have a PC too, so installed AE on that and the file opens instantly with no issue. Resaved the file from the PC version, tried to open that on Mac but crashed again. I have tried;• Opening file from different locations on the computer• Safe Mode• Empty Caches• Reset Prefs• Uninstall, restart, reinstallBut nothing works. Baffled, especially where it opens immediately on PC, which would rule out file corruption. Files were all created on the same Mac that now wont open them.Any ideas?
I have some mess after timeline scrubber move sometimes after update to 26.5
After Effects 26.5 is here! Bringing powerful new features designed to speed up everyday workflows and reduce manual effort.Leading this release is the new Guides functionality, giving you percentage-based positioning, edge pinning, and custom guide colors for more precise, flexible layouts. Alongside it, you can now keep your propagated Object Matte results cached to disk between sessions, assign color labels to individual effects, and manage your effects in a modernized Effect Controls panel. This release focuses on helping you get more done with fewer steps. I have project made in AE26.3 where I am using varible OpenSans font to achieve decided effects. After I updated to AE26.5 it is not working and OpenSans variable is not installed / seen by AE. Other variable fonts are, but not OpenSans. Only fixed weight variant is available. It also show missing OpenSans Roman variable - I do not know why roman, but I believe that should be the problem - wrong indentification. But until it will be fixed I have to use older version, sadly..
The 26.5 version seems to be really problematic. It crashes a lot when I am rendering project with timeremaped video and I have no autosaves to save my previous work because it just does nothing before render, even when I have Autosave before render ON in preferences.. Sadly need to downgrade also on other machine too..
Maybe it is normal behavior, but I never met it yet.. When I am precomping layers and want to make the new composition as long as selected layers, I am epxecting one layer on the place I had old layers, not trimmed, not offseted.. In 26.3 it does the same as I now checked. When I try to precomp layers and choose adjust precomp lenght... it behaves strange. The precomp is trimmed and offseted. Maybe because the comp time does not start at 0:00:00..I paste two images.. before and after precomping of selected layers..
DO NOT use identical filenames even in Different folders for linked assets in Adobe. Apparently Adobe is so broken it caches the filenames and can/does accidentally randomly replace them in wrong places during the render (happened with mp3 VO files with identical filenames).
Due to a workflow in place, my motion team and I create MOGRT's and provide them to our editing team for subbing. It’s usually a simple glow on text etc. This is good for temporary approval, but afterwards my motion team need to recreate these subs in AE for collect purposes. This is quite a time consuming process of scrubbing through the subtitles made on the edits, and recreating the style as words animate on for example, on our end. Is there any workaround anyone might know, to perhaps bring in MOGRT's from a premiere sequence, after they've been used in an edit as subs, back into After Effects. Equally a potential way to improve the situation would be to at least see some sort of marker or keyframe when importing back into After Effects, after the MOGRT’s been used by our edit team - So my Motion team can hop directly to each keyframe/marker, instead of scrubbing through. It’s a tricky topic as research on my end seems to not be very specific about bringing MOGRT’s that have been su
After Effects 26.3 — GPU acceleration silently falls back to CPU on RTX 50-series (Blackwell / sm_120): shipped CUDA cubins only cover sm_50–sm_90, no PTXSummaryOn an RTX 5070 Ti (GB203, compute capability 12.0 / sm_120), After Effects 26.3 reports Mercury GPU Acceleration (CUDA) as the active renderer, but no CUDA work is ever dispatched. Every GPU-accelerated effect renders on the CPU instead. There is no error message, no warning, and no entry in any log.The cause appears to be in the shipped kernel binaries: Support Files\PTX\CUDA\*.cubin contains pre-compiled images for sm_50 through sm_90 only, and the folder contains no .ptx images. With no matching cubin and no PTX to JIT-compile from, the CUDA driver cannot produce a loadable image for sm_120, so kernel loading fails and After Effects falls back to CPU rendering.Practical impact: renders that completed in roughly 10 minutes on the previous (pre-Blackwell) workstation now take hours on newer, substantially faster hardware.Envir

Hello!I would like to work with OpenType in After Effects.I have to import the character I want from Illustrator (and then create a shape for that character), and I don´t want that. I want to be able to work natively in AE. Could you make that? Thanks
I have a grid of images 960x720 in a grid in my 16K comp (15360x6480) I have block dissolve set to 960x720But it is not matching the 960 widththere are 16 across which is an even number but it is the width that is inaccurate see attached? Is it broken? Did it ever work correctly? I am sure I used to use it accurately( plus the standard moan...STOP FORCING ME TO TAG AND STOP LIMITING THE SUBJECT LENGTH NOW COME ON!!!! )Tris
Hello. I have project and there is used Cineware to render 3D coupons falling from the top.. Project was developed in AE2025 and there everything works like a charm..But when I open project in AE2026 (or 27beta), texture is deformed and tiled somehow.. It looks like something invert normals, but in 2D.I need to keep project in 2025 what is not optimal way to work when all other projects are already shifted to 2026.Sample screens atached. Windows 11, latest drivers, latest adobe versions..I can provide reduced project if it helpsAE 2025AE 2026 and 2027
Dear Adobe Team,I'm writing to report an ongoing issue that's frustrating many motion designers, including myself.I originally reported a similar problem back in 2023 (), and unfortunately, it was never fully resolved. I managed to work around it by juggling older versions, installing and uninstalling as needed, but it's unbelievable that we face these kinds of problems with such an expensive Creative Cloud subscription. The situation has become much worse with the latest 2025 and 2026 updates.I regularly work on large projects with 500+ assets (PNG, JPG, SWF, audio, video files, etc.). I collect files properly, start working, and everything seems fine at first. But the next day, or after a few days, when I reopen the project, many MP4 and SWF files appear as "missing," show compatibility errors, or fail to display correctly. This isn't a one-time or occasional glitch; it's now my standard workflow. I've wasted countless hours reinstalling software, restarting, and even re-rendering fi
A quick question, but I’m looking to redo this animation as I don’t have the original file for it, is it possible to do this in After Effects or is it a Cinema 4D job? Obviously a simple loop would be easy to do with trim ends on a path, but notably on this animation the outer loop passes under the inner one at one point and looks like it’s slightly see through as it passes over another- so would be a bit of a job but is After Effects capable of building it? TIA :)
IssueWhen Magnification Behavior is set to Centered, zooming unexpectedly follows the mouse cursor when the first or last vertex of an open Shape Path is selected with the Pen Tool. This does not occur when using the Selection Tool.Steps to reproduce Go to Preferences > Previews > Magnification and set Behavior to Centered. Create a new project and composition. Create a Shape Layer. Using the Pen Tool, draw an open path with three or more vertices. Keep the Pen Tool active. Select the first or last vertex of the open path, or leave the last vertex selected after drawing the path. Move the mouse cursor away from the selected vertex. Zoom in or out using the mouse wheel or the . / , keys. Expected resultThe Composition viewer should zoom around the center of the panel, according to the Centered magnification preference.Actual resultThe view moves rapidly toward the current mouse cursor position while zooming, as if cursor-centered zoom were being used. The issue: occurs
In C4D you can 'mute' keyframes - essentially this acts like deleting the keyframe except that a dummy 'reference' key is left there, perhaps greyed out, that stores the value(s) and interpolations it had before it was muted. Keyframes to either side behave exactly as if it was not there, until it is un-muted.
Hello! I am looking for some help. I am currently editing a video in which I am using around 200 photos. I make compositions for pairs of photos and then edit them in their separate compositions. I am planning to then use these compositions into a bigger one to fit them all together. However, I am running out of space. Even after clearing my disc cache, I only have 13GB of storage. I am not even a quarter way through the photos. Is there a way to do this without taking up so much space? I was considering rather transferring the file onto a USB but the After Effects file is only a few hundred kb. Otherwise, does the numerous compositions make it take so much space? Any advice is helpful! Thank you!
I’m learning Adobe After Effects and I’m interested in creating short gaming-style animations inspired by the fast-paced visuals of Geometry Dash. I’d like to experiment with glowing objects, transitions, motion effects, and beat-synced animations. While looking for Geometry Dash-related resources, I came across Geometry Dash APKs and it gave me some ideas for the type of gaming visuals I could recreate as an animation project. For someone just starting with After Effects, which effects and techniques would you recommend learning first for this kind of energetic gaming-style animation?
