Thanks for reporting this issue, sorry to hear you aren't able to open older projects in 23.0.
Would you be able to share the crashing project with us? If possible, please let us know what email you used when you submitted the crash logs, even via DM if necessary.

I can send a project file if you like, but after my I tried multiple past projects made with multiple versions of AE and none of them will open.
I just searched my editing machine and can't locate any crash log files. Tried to open the project again to recreate the crash - I don't understand the crash report dialogue box.
My only options are send a report or don't send but give my email address to have someone contact me.
How is this supposed to work? I chose send crash reports yesterday but apparently you haven't received any.
You should be able to enter your email in the field above "Send Report", which will then cause that button to activate.
Thank you for sending those previous reports. Unfortunately, the report is anonymized without the email, so I cannot search for your previous crashes in our system. If possible, please re-submit these crashes with your email and let me know what email you've used (via DM if you prefer).
As a troubleshooting step, you might try to rename the preferences file for After Effects 23.0. I recommend renaming rather than deleting the preferences in order to restore them later if it doesn't resolve the issue. With After Effects closed, rename the "23.0" folder in ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/ to something like "23.0 old", then relaunch After Effects and try to open the projects from previous versions.
