BUG- Comp Name not fully shown in Render Queue.

This has been around a few years now.

(Should I assume AE devs never use long comp names?)

(Or never move or expand the render queue)

I currently have a 34 max character count for comp names displayed in the render queue

Which is annoying if the differntiator is at the end, eg ### _v1, ###_v2!

expanding the compname column does not show the rest of the filename

Hi @tristansummers,

It looks like I can reproduce the issue with a monitor set to 125% display scale. We'll get a bug filed to investigate.

It does appear to be similar to that other bug I mentioned, but it goes back further so it must have a different root cause. Setting the display to less or greater than 125% allowed the names to be fully displayed— I checked 100, 150, and 175, but I didn't try any custom values between these.

Thanks again for letting us know about this,

- John, After Eff

I just tried a long comp name in the RQ in the 23.5 beta, no issue with more than 34 characters. Perhaps post an image of what you're seeing?

Firstly I do not use the beta versions.

Secondly it is sporadic, so not in all projects

Below is an image of a comp name that will not display, but in another project it works for very long names

No repro for me here locally using those comp names. I'll keep an eye out though and see if we can find a repro.

@tristansummers In what version of After Effects are you seeing this occur? The way the characters are getting cut off looks similar to a bug that was fixed previously.

Thanks for reporting this issue and for any further information you can provide,

I always keep my creative suite, os and Nvidia studio drivers up to date, so I guess it wasn't quite fixed. I'll try toggling GPU off and restarting a few times to see if it helps. It's maybe a UHD screen issue or a cache problem. I put the render queue on the left because i have project and effects on the left because I'm right handed and its more like c4d that way.

It's also threadripper pro Windows 11pro, before you ask. It's just an interesting bug rather than a real problem, (like the number incrementing disaster)

Thank you for the investigation and attention.

Unfortunately 125% is the perfect size for 32" UHD screen! With a big wacom and set of tangents between my 50 year old eyes and the screen i can't see 100% but 150 just seems a waste.

If i close the column i can see the right edge characters but they disappear when I open it.

I confirm that it is only at 125% for me as well, but I don't really want to work at 100 or 150

also disabling hardware acceleration in Display and Preview Prefs and restarting AE does not fix it.
