MEMORY LEAK - AE 24.6.2 / Apple M2 Ultra

I'm working on this project which need 3D lines rotating on itself. I can work on them without any problem. However, whenever I try to export them as a PNG sequence (with alpha) so I can use them without taking that much resources, AE gets into a memory leak problem which ends up in a Force quit. The COMP is using the AE renderer, not the classic or the Cinema 4D ones, as I need the lines to have volume/geometry

The weird part as you can see from the screen shot too is. that although the system is saying AE is using 149GB of RAM,  AE is saying it's only 10% of the actual capacity (64GB).

If the comp (1920x1080) is rendered in chunks of 100 frames per render, it goes through. Anything longer of a render (the actual comp is 2550 frames) goes into the memory leak problem.

I'm running the Adobe suite in an Apple studio M2 Ultra 64GB RAM, with Sonoma 14.6.1. One external SSD 1030mb/s  for Cache, and another two (same specs) for reading/writing. They are connected via USB-C maintaing that data transfer speed.

AE 25.0 released a couple of days ago and has a fix for the memory leak I believe you're seeing. You can keep 24.6 installed and have 25.0 installed so please try the upgrade and see if that resolves your issue.

I'm on AE 25.0.1 on macOS 15.0.1 (M1 Pro) and am also having what seems to be a memory leak. I also have BorisFX Suite plugins installed, so they might affect the RAM issue too, but it seems like memory isn't properly being cleared and reallocated.

Something is definitely still broken. I am struggling with similar memory problems. The system runs out of memory when rendering or previewing in AE.

AE v25.0.1 (Buid 2)
Mac M1 Ultra, 64GB
Sonoma 14.7.

This can occur with 100% native AE tools and in safe mode.
Bit of a mystery, but I have constantly experienced this with larger ProRes sources.
Keep the Activity Monitor open to monitor the memory usage of the After Effects process. You'll get a warning of low system memory at a certain point.
To me, AE hogs about double the available memory and freezes. Interestingly, the render queue might indicate that only 10% of the RAM is being utilized. Exporting a video file can be impossible. My solution has been rendering in pieces using image sequences. Stop the rendering process before After Effects freezes, clear the memory and then continue from where it left off.

Annoying, tedious, etc.
