Ram preview keeps resetting with any change

So recently AE has started needing to completely redo the whole ram prieview with any small change in the timeline. (including audio) It's painfully awful. I move 1 keyframe on a shape layer and eveything has to load into ram preview again, EVERYTHING. Over and over with any small change. It never used to do this. I've been using After Effects for 13 years professionally. I know my way around it well. Why is it doing this and how do I make it stop? I've tried everything i can think of from resetting preferences to disabling plug-ins. I'm runing the most recent version on a Powerfull PC. Latest version, all drivers and windows up to date.

Are you able to share a project that does this with us?

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. It's all of them. Every project. I'm currently animating with native shape layers and have the issue. Also a footage based project that does the same. I can't work it out. does the same on this latest AE and the version before. I don't think it did it on the one before that. It's happened before about a year ago too but the problem fixed itself. I can't really share the projects because they are private client work. Any suugestions to what it might be or steps I can take to troubleshoot. I've clean installed, reset preferences, disabled plug-ins. All the usual stuff. no hardware changes since it worked properly, all drivers are up to date. thanks

Do you have the disk cache enabled? 25.3 and 25.4 had some major changes to better utilize the disk cache so that even if RAM ran out, the disk cache would be keeping the frames around for a lot longer.

I would also check in Preferences -> Memory & Performance and make the available memory to AE/other apps is set appropriately.
