reload footage not reloading on PC

Something that always works for me on mac is when I overwrite an image sequence, it updates immediately. On PC it never updates and if I choose reload, nothing happens. In fact, if I import that footage, it doesn't even add a (1) or something at the end. The file name is a duplicate.

Not sure what else you need for specs but this is saving to an external SSD drive and it is the latest version of windows 11. Restarting the application or machine does not fix this.
