I constantly get this "Failed to write XMP metadata" error message after rendering my files. I'm using version 17.7, but this has happened with previous versions too. The resulting files work fine, but I'd really like to NOT see this message every time I render.
I also have to regularly restart AE as my RAM previews just stop working too. Adobe team, please focus on making AE usable again. Thanks.
I just updated to AE 2023 and encountered this situation, but changing the render to the desktop or changing the folder to an English name solved the problem, hope it helps.
This is a very stupid bug, I hope to fix it as soon as possible.
Hi all,

Hi pulsedesignlab,
Sorry to hear about your issue.
Are you on macOS or Windows? Try changing the permissions. Here's how: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/x-productkb/multi/preferences-folder-read-only-error.html
If it doesn't help, create a fresh user account on your computer and check if it shows the error. It'll help us to narrow down the issue.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Nishu

OK, thanks very much! I checked all of those folders, and none of them had "Deny" checked for any of the permissions. I don't have the time right now to create a new user account and install everything, but I'll try that sometime soon.

no, it doesn't help at all. all the permissions are there. and when i change the account on windows i lose all my files and even fonts. please try to create usable software and then ask people to pay you. thanks

Today, January 6, 2023 and the problem is still in the programs, this is a shame for a company the size of ADOBE, they release updates every week and until today nothing has been done about this error, do you think that your users Are they clowns or something? We pay to use the program and we have rights, you do nothing and expect users to solve a problem that was caused by you, you are a disgrace to the corporate world.

I found the solution, this problem occurs in the new version, all you have to do is uninstall the most current version and go back to a previous version like 23.0 or 22.6 and it is solved, do the same with media Encoder, because the version 23.1 is the one with the problem

this is interesting as I am having this issue, but 23.1 has not yet been installed for me. I am still on 23.0.....going to install 23.1 and see what happens.

Okay, so in my case, I was using 23.0 Ae and 23.1 Media Encoder when I got this error. However, downgrading my Media Encoder to match the Ae version resolved the issue for me.

horror such a ridiculous error that constantly appears in my rendering, I consider it a failure for a huge company, even with regard to previous versions, where people had to bypass and make a codec to reduce the file size, I consider such actions unacceptable to its users, if this situation continues, I will stop buying the program

Ortak kullanılan ağ klasörüne yada D gibi yerlere alırsanız hata veriyor. Umarım bu sorun çabuk düzelir.

Sadly this isn't true. The solutions posted in this thread don't seem to be working either.

Same here. I've tried what everyone has suggested. Let's just say it's still a bug that Adobe's software engineers eventually will get to. Maybe. Whenever. Adobe no longer has the integrity they once possessed.
