Exporting composition within a composition

Community Beginner ,
Aug 13, 2019 Aug 13, 2019

I'm sure I'm missing something but I've tried googling and youtube and haven't been able to figure out the solution:

I create 2 compositions in one project. Composition A is lego face animations that I then drag over to Composition B, wrap CC cylinder, change lighting, etc. When I go to export composition B with nested composition A, only composition B exports without the face animations.

Happy to provide any screenshots or whatever but doubt it will be necessary.

Thanks!

As jasontcox Say's you mark comp A as a guid layer and guide layer didn't come in the final render,,

To fix this issue simply right click on this layer and unselect guide layer

this should work. does your preview look fine when you playback in Composition B? is your work area set properly to include all the animation you need? how are you exporting? show some screenshots too.

Export screenshot.PNG

So this is an image of the project. Preview look good when I play in composition B. When I go to export the comp, it initially looks good (e.g. the display includes the first frame with the face), but as soon as it starts rendering the face animations disappear

Actually that cyan checkmark icon seemed weird so I re-dragged Comp A to Comp B so that did the trick. For my own edification, any idea what I did initially?

Looks like you accidentally turned your top layer into a Guide layer, which by design are not rendered into your exports. They are meant to be used as guides!
