Hello,

I have installed LR 6 on new machine. I can't activate it unless deactivated on other machine. So on other machine I did "Sign out". There is a message - "it will deactivate LR on this machine" - I clicked OK. Still can't activate. On my Adobe account there is nothing under Plans and payment->Activated devices.

So haw can I use a product on new machine? I know LR 6 is quite old, but still it is something I purchuased and I want to use.

Adobe no longer supports Lightroom 6.14 (perpetual).

What does this mean?

  • Installers, one-on-one technical support, security fixes, and bug fixes are not available for perpetual license versions. User to user led support is available through our Adobe Support Community.

For the latest updates and fixes please subscribe to a Photography, Lightroom, or Creative Cloud plan. Please be aware that there are two versions of Lightroom today.

Same issue on Windows, so not an OS issue.

I did as you did, signed out, then checked by trying to use it again on the old laptop. Which it refused unless i signed back in and resubbmitted the key.

Installed on new PC, LR6 intall refuses to accept the key. Tried Adobe customer support, they just dont care.
Adobe`s business model is Pros on subscription only, amature users who dont wish to pay £40 per use (I use it like 2 or 3 times a year) are basically sidelined and Adobe dont want to know.

I am now looking at Key Cracking to break my legit copy so i can use it.. sad times.

Hallo,

Thank you for a replay.

Mac OS - High Sierra. I can upgrade to Mojave but nothing more (there is no support for 32-bit apps).
I don't think it is related to OS. Just after LR installation it couldn't connect to verify my activation code. this was resolved by running Adobe App Manager - I guess it updated addresses of Adobe servers. After that serial/activation code was verified.

From links you posted:
- I did "Sign Out (deactivate)"
- on my account activation page there are no activations, so I can't deactivate from my account. For sure this is correct account - app is listed on my "Orders and invoices" page
- I am a little afraid to do uninsatll - if that fails I will lose this app. If there is no other solution, I will rather try to make an image of an OS and restore it on new computer. And document says "Uninstalling an app from a computer does not deactivate its license."

Hi,

I've just got a new laptop, and am having issues activating Lightroom 6 on it. It persistently says my license is used on the maximum number of computers already (2, according to the license conditions). I am 100% certain that the license is deactivated on the old computer (via Help > Sign out), while it had an internet connection, and it also cannot be reactivated on that one. The license is also activated on my desktop computer, but even if I sign out there I cannot activate it on the laptop. Strangely enough, I can actually activate it again on the desktop, though (which I could not on the old laptop).

I've read several threads on the forum here which say to contact Adobe support, but I cannot find any way to do so? The "what are my contact options" page says Phone/Chat, but neither are clickable to actually find a phone number or start a chat session. Is this some regional thing (I'm in Sweden), that chat is only available in the US or such?

Same here, just deactivated another machine to get it running on a new one. Maybe it's only possible to contact them within workdays. But when i scroll down on "what are my contact options" page to other desktop products (including ... Lightroom, ...) there is no phone or chat option. I think Lightroom 6 like our installation is to old and no support available any more. I'm very frustraded with Adobe for a while. Loved that product and want to use it like i payed for it. I'm not making money with it, so can't and don't want to get the abo version.
Many people having the same problem here in forums:

After a complete reinstallation of my desktop PC with new hardware, reinstallation of LR6, I want now to install my LR6 perpetual license on my laptop but the max number of users is reached.

LR 6 is not supported (in the sense that Adobe will not answer questions about it). However, many times recently people have asked Adobe to deactivate a LR 6 license on one machine and Adobe has done this, and it is supported for this task. There are plenty of similar threads in this forum. So, contact Adobe support. We cannot help you here in this forum.

I'm a happy Lightroom6 user, but my PC crashed (HDD Error). So I had to reinstall Lightroom (I've done this each time I got a new PC, or with the launch of Win10).

After intalling and after starting Lightroom, a pop-up tells me, that the maximum number of allowed installations is exceeded.

But it is only installed on my PC. A "logout" or "disable" licence in the pre. installations is not possible (HW is broken or N/A).
What can I do now? I guess someone on the Adobe side has to reset this counter for my serial?

Tnx & BR
Thomas

When you can't deactivate a serial number
BE SURE TO ONLY ASK FOR ACTIVATION SUPPORT TO ADJUST YOUR ACTIVATION COUNT
You may need to PERSIST or TRY AGAIN to find a support agent with more experience

Be sure to remain signed in with your Adobe ID before accessing the link
Do be aware that Adobe's staffing is impacted by the virus, so wait times are long
-make sure that your browser does NOT block ads, scripts, or pop-ups
-you must also allow 'cookies' in your web browser for the link to work
This link will go directly to the chat option
Type "Agent" in the chat box to bypass the chatbot and be connected to a person
-Meaning type in the word Agent without the quote " " marks

Had my computer wiped unexpectedly by Apple support. Trying to load everything back on. I have a valid Serial Number for Lightroom 6 and having trouble activating it.

Upon activation it says to "Please connect to the Internet and retry." Im obvioulsy connected, no entries in host file prohibit connection, no firewall or AV is running, no DNS is blocking the domain. In fact I can connect to port 443 to lm.licenses.adobe.com (which apparently is a CNAME for lm.adobe.io). I get a 404 page, which means it connects there just isnt an index page. Ive also tried using different DNS servers, tunneling through a VPN, and even using a completely different ISP.

I've come to the conclusion that the licensing server is sending a RST packet back when I try to validate my Serial Number (see attached screenshot).

Am I missing something? Has anyone else experienced this or tried to activate their LR6 recently that can say they HAVENT had this issue?

Thanks.

Please Help!  I had a laptop with LR 6 installed.  It suddenly died and now when I try to activate LR6 on my new laptop, it says that I have reached my limit of activated computers.  Is there a way to deactivate the dead computer?  I have contacted Adobe live support and they referred me here for answers as they no longer support that version of LR.  I am willing to upgrade the program, however I don't want a subscription and I don't need the cloud.  Highly frustrating!  Thanks in advance for any help!

You have to contact Adobe, either by live chat or on the phone and tell them you want to de-activate a Lightroom 6 installation. Please be sure to indicate you are not asking for technical support for Lightroom 6, which the help desk at Adobe is trained not to answer.
