There is no longer any on-line activation for Lr 6. Adobe does not provide technical support for any issues regarding Lr 6.

HELP!
I got a new computer, but can't access Lightroom 6. I was sent a download link, but I end up stuck in a sign in loop. I have called Adobe multiple times and they are no help. Has anyone had this issue?

Adobe has removed all downloads of the installation files for LR6 on all their public websites. Support for LR6 has also been discontinued. So you'll get no more support from Adobe.
But you can download LR 6.14 from an Internet Archive:
Be aware: The downloads can take a minute or two to start and it can proceed very slowly. So be patient.
As @F. McLion wrote, the activation servers are no more online. You only can try a offline activation as described here:

I have completely uninstalled everything I can find for Lightroom. Ran the setup as administrator, and closed out anything in the background.

Did you do a complete and clean reinstallation? If no, please follow the steps below:
If you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here:

Bonjour,
Photographe amateur, j’ai acheté Ligthroom ver 6 en novembre 2017 en ligne par l’intermédiera de la FNAC avec le téléchargement d’un patch de mise à jour 6.14 sur Adobe.
Suite à un changement d’ordinateur la semaine dernière jai bien réinstallé ma version 6 de LR mais je ne dispose plus de lien pour téléchargé ce patch 6.14 qui me fait défaut.
Pourriez-vous m’aider

Hi,
After buying a new computer, I've installed my version of Lightroom 6.12 again. When I try to open LR 6.12, LR says that Adobe Application Manager is needed. It can't be found or is damaged. I have to download a new version of Adobe Application Manager at http://www.adobe.com/go/applicationmanger_nl (al in Dutch, so I don't know if the translation is exactly right).
When I go to that adress, I end up at https://www.adobe.com/nl/creativecloud/desktop-app.html. I have dowloaded and installed Creative Cloud. Unfortunatly is doesn't solve the problem. When I try to open LR, i get the same notification about Adobe Application Manager. I've also tried to open LR from within Creative Cloud, but the same notification again.
Anyone knows how to solve this?? Al my photo's from many years are in LR 6.12 😞 Thanks in advance!

Lightroom (Legacy v6.14) does not work if you have the Creative Cloud Desktop App installed. The desktop App converts Lr6 to Lr CC1025 which requires a paid subscription.
I can only suggest the following- (Modified from the post by @AxelMatt earlier in this forum thread)
This is now the only way known to install, activate and use Lr6.14
On a new computer system, ideally a subscription to the latest version (14.2) is the best option with Lightroom-Classic (as it is now called) available in a Lightroom Plan.

Hi, I have a question. Always used my Adobe ligthroom 6 on my macbook with OS mojave. But since last week, it won't start anymore :-(. I didn't make changes to any maps etc. So, anyone any idea what could be the problem. Didn't back-up for a while (yes I know...) , so this feels really inconvenient.... Any thoughts that might bring it back to life?

Entschuldigt bitte, dass ich das Thema zum x-ten mal in einem Thread öffne aber der Adobe-Support sieht es als einzige Lösung des Problems einen weiteren Beitrag im Forum dazu zu schreiben. Ich habe meinen Rechner vor kurzem zurückgesetzt und erhalte beim installieren von LR6 nun die Fehlermeldung:
"Die Seriennummer xy wird bereits von der maximal zulässigen Anzahl von Computern verwendet. Sie müssen einen anderen Computer deaktivieren [...]."
Da mein alter Rechner aber platt ist, habe ich keine Möglichkeit mehr die Aktivierung zurückzusetzen.
Was ich versucht habe:
- Adobe Account Gründlich durchwühlt
- In diesem Thread hat @CMass Nutzern geholfen das Problem zu lösen. Ich habe eine PM geschrieben aber noch keine Antwort erhalten.
- Wenn man bei dem Chatbot nach einem Mitarbeiter fragt, kann man immerhin mal mit einem echten Menschen reden. Nach langem hin und her und auch der Nachfrage nach einem Manager, wird nur auf Webseiten verwiesen die nicht helfen, vorgeschalgen im Forum zu fragen oder gesagt das dabei nicht geholfen werden kann.

Bonjour, impossible depuis plusieurs jours de réinstaller Lightroom 6.0 (CD) après réinstallation de Windows 11 sur mon PC. Réponse invariable, quelle que soit la procédure utilisée : "Le programme dinstallation n'a pas pu s'initialiser. TéléchargezAdobe SupportAdvisor. pour identifier le problème." (qui n'existe plus)
J’ai suivi la procédure proposée dans le forum : recours à Adobe creative cloud cleaner / Adobe creative cloud / Adobe application manager) et ai téléchargé une version (qui n'existe plus sur le site Adobe) via le lien fourni par le forum mais échec systématique.
Y a-t-il eu du nouveau côté blocages chez Adobe en 2025 ?

Tengo Lightroom 6 para Mac y lo he usado durante bastantes años.
Mi iMac tuvo un problema de software después de años de uso y tuve que restablecer el sistema en el servicio técnico oficial de Apple.
Al ir al ordenador de nuevo, no me deja reinstalar la versión 6, asà que estoy gtrabajando con la versiòn 5, que es más lenta y no tiene algunas funciones interesantes de la versión 6,
El soporte técnico de Adobe me dice que está descatalogado y no pueden hacer nada al respecto. Me gustarÃa saber si alguien tiene una solución al problema.

My iMac had a software problem after years of use and I had to reset the system at the official Apple service centre.
When I go to the computer again, it won't let me reinstall version 6, so I'm working with version 5, which is slower and doesn't have some interesting features of version 6,
Adobe support tells me it's discontinued and they can't do anything about it. I would like to know if anyone has a solution to the problem.

You can download Lightroom 6.14. You can follow these instructions to install it (can't be installed the normal way). Newer vresions of the Mac OS will not allow you to install Lr 6 (someone else will have to provide details, I am not a Mac person).

Lately i've got a warning on start of lightroom 6.14 that i have only limited features and hav to check my account.
So id did check from within lightroom and of cause see my product:
So the feature are restricted but don't know why. Then i tried:
- log out and login again. but this did not help. only know check my account was greyed out in menu. Clicking "log out" - i was just given a new login screen (a qr and a link). i always loged in successfully. on a certain point my account was locked due to too many log in events.
- the i decided to uninstall light room and installed it again from "Lightroom_6_LS11.exe". Installation wen fine. i chose i bought it, needed to login again, gave my license key. But after installation "succesful" i wanted to start - agin login screen. Log in went fine but - noting happens, lightroom is not starting.
Tried it again: login again - no start until account is locked.
So how to start lightroom 6.14 - or get around the login.
