Short description:When importing RAW and/or JPG files from my Fuji X-T5 into LrC, despite selecting the "Do not import possible duplicates" function, no duplicates are recognised and all images that have already been imported are imported into LrC again. A “-2” is appended to the file names.Duplicates of my RAW files from my Canon R5 II are recognised as such and are not imported. I deleted a few empty folders in Lightroom then I went to export a picture and I got ‘folder creation failure’ soooo what did I do and how can I fix it without losing all my pictures if a reinstall?

I’ve noticed that File Explorer now shows a folder called Gallery.  I understand it’s a new feature.  It contains thumbnails of images that have recently been put in the Pictures folder.  That’s all well and good, even nice.  However, I like to remove clutter and was about to clear the Gallery on the assumption that just the thumbnails will be removes, but thought I’d better check first.  It turns out that deleting the thumbnails also deletes the original in the Pictures folder.  That should strike fear in any photographer that uses the Pictures folder as part of their workflow.  Apparently, deleting the Gallery folder can be done safely without threatening the originals but I’ve yet to try it.So, what do you think?  Has Microsoft inadvertently created a potential photographer’s land mine into File Explorer or have I had too many coffees? 

On version 15.2.1 of Adobe Lightroom classic, I cant get it to use my GPU. My system is a Lenovo P3 ultra with an i9-14900, 32 GB DDR5 and a Nvidia RTA A2000 12GB. I disabled the iGPU in BIOS, and lightroom preferences are set to use the GPU. I’ve tried drivers ranging from latest to two years old, and nothing has worked. My iMac is too old to update my Lightroom CC.  I want to use my laptop from now on.  I have it connected to an external monitorFYI>. My catalog is on my iMac but the photos are on an external hard drive.

This post applies to Camera Raw and Lightroom Classic.   Dust Removal is no longer in Early Access status and can be found in the Remove edit panel for Camera Raw & Lightroom Classic. Dust Removal helps with removing distracting spots on an image that may be caused by dust on a camera's sensor.   Once enabled, your image will be scanned, and any detected dust spots will be automatically removed using Content-Aware Remove. For refinement, you can select one or multiple spots to delete or refresh. Batch removal is also supported; simply select the "Dust" checkbox under "Remove" in the copy settings dialog.Please note that scanned negatives are not in the scope of this feature at this time.    Dust spots on scans tend to be located in the focal plane, with the negative and very sharp, while sensor dust is typically positioned out of the focal plane and therefore not in focus. Lightroom is no longer able to detect people in my photos, while using the mask module. When I choose, “Select People”, it says “No People Found”, when there is obviously people in the photo.

Hello 🙂   Coming back from a trip abroad I wanted to finally edit and export my pictures. Problem is, when exporting said pictures, it seems to crank up the contrast.  So when I modify a picture in lightroom (simple and classic both have the issue), I don't have the true colours up until the export is done. Like working blindfolded... My screen is setup with a Display P3 ICC profile, I export in PNG with the Display P3 colour gamut.  I've tried veiwing hte pictures with different apps and it still renders the same. So export problem. I tried to look online this issue, activated soft-proofing and nothing changed.   I don't want to go insane, please help me 🙂   (you'll find a screen capture of said difference)

I am getting this error message when trying to Export as Catalog: I’m running on macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 with Lightroom Classic 15.2 on MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 with 16GB of memory and about 197 GB free space on the hard drive.  The target for the export is an external hard drive with 1.85 TB available.  There are about 113 GB of images in the catalog (some are on external media).  A few minutes after starting the export, the progress bar seems to freeze.  About five hours after starting the export, the export process appears to die with the above message opening in its own window.  I’m trying to export around 10,000 images.  While the export is running, Lightroom Classic does not appear to be consuming a large amount of CPU or Memory.

On macOS is it possible to create a Keyboard App Shortcut that accesses any of the options in the Masks Panel?I’m specifically interested in creating a keyboard shortcut that “Duplicate and Invert Mask”?I’m sure the answer is no but I thought I would just check… Thanks in Advance - CES   

It is important that I mark this event in the annals of the Adobe Community.  Today I imported my first ever web-pee file.  This happened, almost without warning, after years of screaming for this capability by near-death boomer users of Lightroom Classic.Attached is the actual image file that I imported today.  I appropriated the photo from Google Images and will be exploiting it for my own purposes (now that I can find it again).I have to ask what took so long to implement this seemingly simple thing?  And why all the development time spent on Develop module?  How many aged LRC users do not use Photoshop?  All but one?  Is the one still even with us?For my last wish, why not make something akin to AnyFile plugin an integral part of LRC?  I am lifetime user of AF, but the fake image file thing is laborious and prone to human error.  Firefly could analyze my audio files, for example, and produce a thumbnail preview file without having to build a network of AI satellites in space.  Can

I’m currently looking to get a laptop for mobile editing, as what I currently have (a Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+) chugs on photos from my Sony A1 II (to no one’s surprise) and lightroom for Android doesn’t support the AI Denoise function. I currently use the AI Denoise function on around 150-500 RAW images at a time on my Windows Desktop. I have a budget of around $4000 CAD, which puts me around the price of the 16in M5 Pro MacBook Pro w/ the 48 GB memory upgrade, or I can get a Windows laptop with the following for around $3500 CAD.CPU Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX GPU: Nvidia RTX 5080 Mobile Ram: 32GB DDR5 Storage: 1TB NVME SSD (I will be editing photos off an external SSD, so 1TB should be enough)I also noticed that if I drop down to the 14-inch MacBook Pro, I can get it with the M5 chip for around $2300 CAD.Given all of that, my questions are as follows Is the M5 Pro chip worth it over the base M5 chip, especially when it comes to AI functions like Denoise? Also, is the 48GB memory upgrade

I am unable to open Sony ARW files (Lossless Compressed RAW) created by a Sony A1 (ILCE-1) cameras running firmware Ver. 4.00. I am using the latest version of LrC 15.2.1 release and Camera Raw 18.2.2. Has anyone faced the same problem? Any solution would be much appreciated.

LR V15.2 hangs in denoise after several images were processed. That suggests a memory leak or a resource starvation, deadlock or any similar issue. LR hangs than, ignores the “cancel” button. When I click on the window [x] the window closes, but LR is still non responsive. When I try to terminate it, it hangs. Using Task Manager “kill process” stops LR finally.  After a restart the previously hanging image processes fine and fast. I am using W11 Pro on a Dell Xeon workstation with 48G RAM and the LR and its cache are on a NVMe drive. When it works, the denoise (and also the AI object removal or marking) are wonderful and they clearly improve the quality of work on our photography. 

When going to the presets, theyre not pulling up. 

Trying to log on to Lightroom Classic on my desktop.  Will not load and says catalog corrupt and corrections will take several minutes.  Nothing happens.
