When importing pictures exported from Apple Photos, in some cases the longitude values have a sign error where East changes to West. Photos which were captured in Washington are shifted to an obscure rice field in China. I am uploading an example photo which shows this behavior. The longitude of the actual location captured with my iPhone was 122° 48' 12.072" W. Upon uploading this file into Lr, the longitude changes to 122° 48' 12.072" E. West changed to East. Is this a bug?

The June 2026 update to Lightroom (v9.4) lets you add AI-generated motion to your photos, recover and sharpen blurred images using AI Sharpen, explore people-focused culling, and organize smartly. What’s NewThe Lightroom ecosystem (v9.4) brings more creative flexibility, speed, and control to everyday workflows. On desktop, the new Faces panel streamlines people-focused assisted culling with Eye sharpness and Eyes open scores, making it easier to pick the best shots quickly. You can also bring photos to life with Generate Video, turning a single image into a short video using a simple text prompt. AI Sharpen (powered by Topaz) restores detail in slightly out-of-focus images, while improved subject selection when masking and the interactive Histogram give you more precise control over edits. Custom color labels help streamline organization and keep projects easy to track. On mobile, iOS users can now edit photo location data directly in-app, while Android users get seamless blemish remo
Adobe is excited to receive requests for additional features you need to enhance your workflow. What can you do to increase the chances of being heard? Don't use the words "Feature Request" in your post's title. Search for and add to existing feature requests rather than creating duplicates. There is no advantage to creating a second request for any existing feature request. One request per thread! When creating an Idea or Feature Request thread, please keep requests for features to ONE request per thread. Doing this will allow others to vote on a single, specific feature and not confuse Upvotes amongst a list of feature requests. If an Idea thread has multiple requests in it, a moderator may ask you to split the multiple requests up into multiple threads so others can vote. In the event there remain multiple requests on a thread, the first item requested will be the arbiter of where the thread will be cross-referenced or merged. When I go to crop an image in Lightroom, the default zoom level of ‘Fit’ appears broken.Every other options works as expected. Reclicking on ‘Fit’ does not resolve issue, nor does selecting a different option and switching back to fit. It’s been an issue for a couple months, the only thing that fixes it is going back to older versions of the software. Please adviseM4 Pro, Lightoom 9.3+
Hello !For a few days (maybe weeks) now, Lightroom is acting strangely when I try to find a subject. When I click the "Subject" button in masking options, I get an error message saying it doesn't find people in the photo, hence it's classical portraits. When I try to select the person with the "Object" tool, Lightroom is giving me weird masks, here's some examples : This shot was taken by me. You can see the "detected" masking in red. This shot was bought in stocks. Same kind of "detected" masking in red. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Lightroom and reset the preferences. Is anyone having the same issue and is there a workaround ? Thank you !
My mobile LR's subject detection fails to work since few days ago, probably starting from last update. It does not even work on simple portraits (see attached, emoji and rectangle drawn on screenshot only).
I am using a 2022 MacBook Air, on a Sequoia 15.5 MacOS.Lightroom simply will not launch, no matter how I try to open it. Please help!!!Tried:shift + option to reset preferences enabling full disk access option while clicking to open catalog dialogue restarted the MacBook three times uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop app twice
Assisted Culling is now generally available in Lightroom TL; DR: Assisted Culling has graduated from Early Access to General Availability. It gives you a fast, reviewable first pass on large shoots: it surfaces your strongest frames and sets aside the obvious rejects, so you spend less time comparing near-duplicates. You stay in control: review everything, adjust the thresholds, and override any call. If you tried it back in October 2025, it's substantially more accurate now, especially for wedding, event, group, and portrait work. We'd love for you to give it another look and tell us what you think in this thread. What it does Open an album or collection, run a cull, and Assisted Culling analyzes your images against the criteria you choose: Subject Sharpness, Eye Sharpness, Eyes Open, exposure, and more. It marks Selects and Rejects, shows you why behind every call, and leaves the final decision to you. How far it's come since Early Access February 2026: Expanded from individual po
I shoot events and may need to view hundreds of images before importing to Lightroom Mobile. I connect my camera to my Android device via USB and Lightroom Mobile opens automatically to its import page. It shows all images on my camera as very small thumbnails which are hard to view on my device. I would like an option to view all images as individual files so I can select the best to import.Hoping this is something you could consider for us many events shooters who use Lightroom Mobile. Many thanks
This post applies to the Project Indigo iOS camera app. Adobe Labs is excited to share an early look at Project Indigo, an iPhone camera app we've started to develop, to get feedback from the photography community. The app offers full manual controls, a more natural ("SLR-like") look, and high image quality in both JPEG and raw formats. It also introduces some new photographic experiences not available in other camera apps. For more information on the underlying technology, please refer to this Project Indigo blog post. Before you start with Project Indigo We recommend using Project Indigo on iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max or newer devices.(Also supported are 12 Pro/Pro Max, 13 Pro/Pro Max, and all 14-series devices.) You should have at least 1GB of storage space left for the app, the downloadable AI Models inside the app, and for captured photos. Download the app from the App Store. Check out the Project Indigo FAQ, which is updated reg
I put a picture with an obvious subject, a person. And light doesnt detect it.
Wondering how I can fix 'App & user data' from requiring 1.5 TB of space on my computer. I've read a number of forum fixes but can't seem to get my issue resolved and have deleted many apps on my computer just to keep it running. I'm using Adobe Lightroom 8.5.1... and I think my full computer problem is due to the 'App & user data' requiring 1.5 TB. How can I free up space? My storage location for originals is set to an external hard drive (prior to two weeks ago though it was set to my local drive C). My cashe size limit is now set to 10 GB (it was ay 456 GB until recently). But still, I can't find or fix the huge amount of space required for App & user data. Help?
I bought presets for Lightroom mobile, but there is no option for me to upload. The only option I have is to create a new preset and then it pulls up the exposure, contrast, etc. But I want to upload and use the presets I bought. These are the only options I’m given for presets, nothing for uploading presets.
I’ve used the Compare feature (Opt+C) in Lightroom heavily for a long time. It’s critical that we be able to bring focus to either the left or right image in Compare view, in order to flag / crop / edit that image. But In Lightroom 9.4, clicking the Left image fails to select it. However, if I click the Swap icon, it’s now the right image that can’t be selected.Update: Turns out the issue and source of UI confusion is actually the Multiple Images / Before and After selector. If I toggle it to Multiple, it works normally again. But something about the 9.4 update switched the default to Before/After (I guarantee that I didn’t do that - I never touch that widget), resulting in the broken behavior.
Lightroom is refusing to open. It opened originally but was telling me there was an update. I closed Lightroom and went into Creative Cloud to update. No indication I was not not already up to date. Updated Photoshop and Camera Raw. Tried to go back into Lightroom and now it won't open?
I upgraded to the iPhone 17 pro, updated o/s, I launch LR mobile app, select to sign-in using my email address. Can enter the address, but I cannot advance the screen to the password page as the continue button will not advance. I am not using a screen protector, have rebooted the iphone numerous times, deleted the app, redownloaded, etc and nothing seems to work. My other apps are working fine so not sure if this is a bug with LR or else. Thanks!
I don't know what additional details to provide. My access to my Lightroom account is being blocked by an ad promoting Lightroom Premium.

I seem to have two versions of Lightroom on my desktop. One doesn’t have the left side menus from which I could export or Edit in Topaz, etc. It’s the one that I open from my programs menu on my Windows computer. The other, opened from the Creative Cloud, has the menus. They BOTH say Lightroom, but no distinction between web based, desktop or mobile. Neither one is nested within a browser window, as I would expect a web based program to be. So how can I always get the version with the menus on the left?
Feature Request: Filter Photos by Sync Status During Import in Lightroom MobileI would like to request a new filter/sorting option in the Add Photos / Import screen in Lightroom Mobile.Requested FeatureAdd a filter or sort option to display:Synced photos and videos only Not synced photos and videos onlyThis filter should be available directly in the photo picker when selecting media to import into Lightroom. Why This Is NeededLightroom Mobile’s automatic sync is not always reliable. There are times when the app reports that everything has been synced and backed up, but many photos or videos are actually missing from Lightroom. The unsynced files are not grouped together. Instead, they are scattered intermittently throughout the camera roll, making them extremely difficult to find manually. The only visual indication is that these items do not display the Lightroom (LR) badge, but locating them one by one among thousands of photos is impractical.A “Not Synced” filter would allow users to
I can start the app, but it instantly freezes for about 5–10 seconds. I've tried many different things to fix it. I installed all available updates, disconnected two of my three monitors, and updated everything I could. I also turned graphics support on and off, but it made no difference. How can I fix this problem? I'm not understanding how my Lightroom (Desktop 9.4.1) Library is getting so large. Yesterday it was at 320 GB, I deleted it and let Lightroom rebuild it, today it's at 246GB. Despite having my cache set to 50GB. My overall Library size is 1.7TB In the Cloud, and fully saved to a local SSD.When I dig into the Library file, I see a Proxies Folder that is 223GB, it appears to be copies of all the video's I have in my Library. I have local copies of everything in my Library on a local SSD that I always have, I don't need those in the proxy folder and I have my Cache Set to 50GB. 1) Why would Lightroom download the video's to the Proxy Folder when the Cache is set to 50GB? 2) How do I fix it? 3) I would like to keep my Library file to about 100 - 150GB - Anyway to cap it? 4) I have the option- to save all Smart Previews to my Mac, turned on. Is this outside of (in addition to) the 50GB Cache limit, or within it?
