Clicking the 'Motion' tab causes performance issues

When I select a clip and adjust the Position / Scale values, it seems to be fairly smooth.

When I click the 'Motion' tab to show the Outline + Anchor point, suddenly adjusting the position / scale values is extremely slow and unresponsive.

Version 24.1.0 (Build 85)

Worth noting that adjusting the position / scale values in any timeline with a slightly more significant amount of footage becomes extremely laggy too...

The files I am using:

These have both been proxied using the 'ProRes Medium Resolution Proxy' from Premiere Pro.

This sounds like an issue that we made improvements on. If you have a chance, could you please try 24.4 beta build 019 or higher to see if this is improved? The beta build is avialable on Creative Cloud.

Trying the version 24.4.0 BETA (Build 20) and it seems the 'Media' tab is no longer causing any issues, however in a timeline that's 24 minutes (made up of the same files I posted above), the program monitor is still quite laggy when adjusting the Position / Scale values. It's like the FPS of the program monitor drops significantly - similar to the video I posted above just less severe

EDIT: Please see my post below for a follow up

Hi Trent, this is a bit weird as whilst recording a video for you I discovered a strange behaviour.

If I select a clip and adjust the position values, it seems slow, jittery.

Then I click the Motion tab to see the edges and anchor point, moving this around with my mouse is still quite jittery.

However, once the edges and anchor point are visible then adjusting the position through the values itself is very smooth...

You can see what I mean through the video.

Agreed, there is still room for improvement here.

Seems like a developer implemented some kind of optimisation which works well but it's only active whilst the motion borders are shown, and only via the method of adjusting the number values. Now if it could just work the same with clicking and dragging the program monitor and without the borders being active!

You should see Direct Manipulation performance improvementson Windows in Premiere Pro 24.3, which just released. Further improvements are still under investigation.

Hey Trent,

Can I ask why aren't Adobe releasing update logs for these beta versions?

It seems like lately you guys are really trying to address issues from people but I cannot find actual change logs anywhere, and it'd be reassuring to see all the progress from these daily updates + it'd be nice to know what is being focused on
