Dupe Detection isnt working properly again. If I take a clip on my timeline and copy and paste it to another part of the timeline, the duplicate has a colorful line on it to show its a duplicate, but the original one has no colorful line on it at all. Premiere 24.6.1 (build 2). Mac Os Sequoia 15.0.1

What kind of footage, @rachelcenter? Any other workflow details? Have you tried it in v.25?

Thanks,
Kevin

You may want to try resetting preferences:

  1. Open Premiere Pro
  2. Hold down Option on a Mac or Alt on Windows
  3. Select the relevant options
  4. Click Continue
  5. Click OK to confirm

I already did that twice last week because when I was searching for a clip name in the bin, nothing would show up when I know the clip name definitely existed. I performed a reset twice that day, and it fixed my search issue. I'd be real disapointed if I had to do it AGAIN this week.

I just tried what you told me to do. It did not fix the problem.

@rachelcenter,

Be sure "Show duplicate frame markers" is turned on. (Timeline, wrench icon) When I just tested, it was turned off, and I don't recall what the default is. If the default is off, resetting preferences won't help.

If that is not it, try it in the test project I suggest in your other thread. When this was fixed a few updates back, there were users who still reported it. Some were due to minimum track heights, but I think this was also fixed. Anything else about your project (multicam, etc)? But I suspected something was being carried in a project setting.

I just tested on Win10, 24.6.1 and Beta 25.1.0.39 and working correctly on both. (Won't update to Release 25.0 until I clone my drive.)
