Problem (which is with the progress bar, and not the actual .xml file) is already fixed in PPro betas, and will be fixed in PPro's next official release.

We've recently fixed a problem that seems related to what you've described; do you see the same problem, in the current PPro beta build?

Hi @Log.In agency

This is a known issue that has been fixed in the latest beta version of Premiere Pro. I am moving your post to the discussion that has been ongoing with this issue. Look for the fix to also be in 25.1 once released. In the meantime you can import XML's into the beta.

Thank you,

Ian

at time of importing video clips, it will stall out, if i exit the small window and simply hit import again, it works, but the panel in the top left is showing parts of the import screen in a buggy way, also did a whole project yesterday and project file was "saving" but with 0kb data in the file, it claimed my project files were "damaged" and i had to start all the way over

With the release of Premiere Pro version 25 I can no longer import layered Photoshop PSD files, instead the import progress bar appears and does not move. Workaround: Cancel the import and convert the PSD file to another format, like PNG.

I create titles for all of my video projects as layered Photoshop files and import them into the Premiere Pro project files. This has worked fine for years until now. Is this a known bug? If yes, is there an ETA on a fix? Thanks.

Thanks. My post was just moved here, so I'm just catching up. 🙂

Regarding ETA, is there a time when 25.1 will be released, i.e., calendar date? Thanks again.

The current official version, which contains the bug, is 25.0.
The current beta version, in which the bug is fixed, is 25.1.

I'd suggest testing in the current PPro beta.

Hey all,

Since the latest update I've experienced several new, unique and frustrating bugs that persist after fresh installs, media cash clearances and preference resets. The most notable one at present is it's preventing me from importing third party transitions. Previously - Premiere would ask me to link the media it was searching for after I imported. Now that step is missing and the programme hangs on 0% with the "import files..."dialogue box open. Is there a workaround to link the media to the file or otherwise solve the issue?

The bug is already fixed, in PPro beta builds.
That fix will also be present, in the next PPro official release.

@mark_4954  adobe won't give you an answer (totally fair), but what I can say to you or anyone else who is curious, as someone who has paid attention over the last couple years;

  • Main version updates (v2x.0/v2x.y) usually tend to drop around mid month, often towards the beginning of the week.
    • They tend to drop every 1-2 months (often a few back to back and then slowly skipping months towards the end of the year cycle as they build out the next v2x version; v24 only hit 24.6 over the year for example).
  • Any minor updates (say for example, a 25.0.1) can fall anywhere inbetween (ie, ae just dropped 25.0.1 in the last day or two for example. Different teams ofc but they tend to follow similar release cadences).

If these are current projects and not new projects (that you could start in v24 then just upgrade after import), your best bet currently is to install the current beta version (then turn OFF auto update until project completion). The current build (56) seems mostly stable but that can of course break at any moment as they test things

After installing the update, Premiere 2025, I can't import XML files. The program freezes and then crashes, but in version 2024 there is no such problem! Thanks

It helps by enabling you to import the material, using beta builds; PPro project formats are compatible across a major version, so 25.1 beta projects can be opened in 25.0.

The fix will be in the next official release; no dates available.

Hi @jbellomo

We are sorry that you can't use beta builds at your place of employment.  Please try the workaround below, listed in the known issues

Issue: Windows customers may see an “Import Files” dialog box that never completes in the following conditions:

  • The Learn, LibrariesFrame.io panel, or any panel listed in Windows > Extensions, is turned on.
  • An AAF, Final Cut Pro XML, or EDL file is being imported.

Workaround: When importing these file types, first close the above-listed panels. The panels can be turned on again after the import has been completed.

I'm talking about a Photoshop file, PSD, is that file included. I just tried the work around and that didn't work for me
