P: Filler Words not found

When I use transcription and then select filler words, it always says there are not filler words even when they are as clear as day in the audio. 

It seems lots of people are having this issue. 

I am using Version 25.1.0 (Build 73)

We're sorry about the poor experience. Let us know the version of Premiere Pro that you are using. For testing purposes, can you switch the Search filter to Pauses & let us know if it's detecting the filler words?

Yes when switched to pauses, it detected the pauses.

Video was filimed with OBS and and an iPhone, 2 different audio tracks

When your support asked me to select "pauses" instead of "filler words" pauses did show up.

For the last few months, my Premiere is not recognizing any 'filler words' in the text/transcript function. Anyone have a fix for this?

Others are reporting this. What version of PR are you using. I cannot replicate so far in 25.0 nor the Beta.

Hi @Tommy34286751inqk - We can't reproduce this issue in 25.1 or the beta.  Would you be able to provide a sample clip?  Stan has a good question on what version of Premiere Pro are you working on and what os?

- And sorry I'm no expert. What kind of clip are you looking for? Generally, no clip I try works with "filler words'

If none of them are working, I'd say any clip. The 2 main questions are a) whether you have a clip that has no filler words and b) whether what should be detected as filler words are showing as regular text in the transcript (as a filler word or as something else).

tried transcribing it, and to your point, they were not recognized.

Thanks; excellent! Very odd....

This is a stereo sample. Nothing special in PR or MediaInfo, except it being mp3. I tested it, and also tested reimport of it combined with video as mp4 and as a .wav file. I tested in 25.0.0, 24.6.1, and Beta 25.2.0.71.

This is an English speaker with good enunciation. There are 3 instances of very distinct "uhms" that are not transcribed as "uhm," filler word, or pause. They occur at the end of transcription sentence breaks. I think the transcription segments would be longer, except this single speaker is transcribed as speaker 1, then 2, then 1, 2, 1, and 2. I do not hear any difference in "who" is speaking.

I am having the same issue. I have downloaded mutliple older versions of Premiere Pro as well as the most recent. The filler words just don't show up at all, but everything else does. Since no filler words are detected, they therefore can't be deleted and remain in the video. Help!

UPDATE: The newest operating software on my iMac seems to have fixed the issue. Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1

I just updated to 15.3.1 and am still having the same issue as others...it's not finding clear-as-day ums in the audio.

I'm having the exact same issue. Ever since I updated to 25.1.0 I cannot get it to detect any filler words whatsoever. I've tried this on numerous client videos and it doesn't work on any. All are english speakers with very clean audio. Several videos I've counted (and removed manually) over 100 and it doesn't detect any. Causing me to have to do vastly more work than I should.

I was able to get this working by followign the guidance in a similar thread:

Essentially the fix for me was to trascribe as a dynamic transcript.  For some reason it automatically created  a static transcript and the static transcript doesn;t allow us to find the filler words.

Mine is a dynamic transcript, it is not a static transcript. Filler words is checked (not greyed out) in the transcript view options.

Yesterday a client hit me up with an issue: Premiere was not detecting filler words in an audio clip. Via screen sharing I walked them through the process and confirmed it was not working. On their system filler words are being detected as pauses. They sent me their footage, I followed the exact same steps on my system and it did detect filler words correctly.

We are both running Premiere 25.1.0. They are using a Mac (not sure which OS version), and I am using Windows 11 with an AMD processor and dual 4090 GPUs.

From my own software development experience, I have noticed that some speech to text libraries (and text to speech), behave differently depending on the OS. I suspect that's what's going on under the hood.

Hi @Imageflux Inc I think what you're seeing could be an issue we are working on happening in macOS 15 where the filler detection model is not able to run. It's a separate model from the main transcription model, so you can transcribe even if maybe you can't detect fillers. To know for sure, could you have the Mac user try the Premiere Pro Beta version (downloaded separately in the Creative Cloud app)? It has a fix for this and should be able to create the fillers. I've been using Premiere's transcription "filler word" removal for a while now, for uhm removal.

Recently, I've noticed that it's says "no results" despite showing the uhms as [...] visually. And they now seem to be detected under "pauses". Why would this be?

But with a problem file from another user, I got the problem on windows 10. I have not gotten the problem on my older files that showed filler words in the past.

I suspect that your uhm also has a pause. I get no uhm in text or as a filler, and no pause.
