Thank you Peter. The GREP query worked like a charm. With regards to your experience when you type, you get the percentage symbol to the left by default. Well, the client and myself didn't have the issue explained in my original post till we updated to the latest InDesign Middle Eastern version v.20.0 so my guess is that Adobe changed something in the text engine. Note. I posted this case from another machine, I didn't notice that I wasn't using this Adobe profile!

The red arrow is pointing to the "English with Arabic support". This option will allow the user to download a Middle Eastern (ME) version of Adobe applications. The ME applications comes with a full English Interface, however, it provides extra right-to-left options and controls. The poster asked for an "Arabized" version which doesn't exist any more, Adobe used to release such Arabic interface between the years ~ 1994 – 2013 via a French company named "Winsoft".

Rishabh, any solution to this issue, quite few clients reporting it, the students cannot see XD in the application folder, however, if accessed with Admin rights, then they can see it!

I'm trying to replicate the issue on my machine, so I downloaded Al Majeed Qur'anic font, the "Aya" brackets you pointed at are not part of the font as far as I can see. Now with so limited information you're providing, I may not be able to assist you. Kindly provide more details. Here is the Glyphs chart for the font, I don't see the brackets…

Then for sure you will not get a decent Right-to-left controls. At the time when Adobe used to sell CS6 and prior, we had to install the Middle Eastern version which used to come on a separate DVD, so it is not a matter of additional plug-in that you can download now for example.

I'm not sure if you're reporting a bug, or asking for help to sort out a ten years old InDesign CS6? InDesign 2024 doesn't have the problem you're describing. Here is a screenshot from Id. v. 19.5… My guess is the font you're using isn't compatible with Id CS6. Use another font such as Arial for testing.

as I have noticed that RTL (Right-to-Left) support is incomplete. By @mahmoud_3224 Good observation. As far as we know, Adobe Express team are working on increasing Arabic support on the platform. I hope they notice your comment and pay attention to the feature you asked for. Here, we're at a community forums, I strongly suggest that you log this issue you noticed at the Adobe bug report/feature request portal to get the right attention.

مرحبا طارق التعليمات التي وضعتها لك @Joel Cherney هي السليمة، فقط عليك ازالة برنامج الانديزاين من جهازك ولاتنسى ان تضغط زر Remove عند ازالة البرنامج لكي تنزل عند النسخة الجديدة بشكل نظيف للعلم فإن امكانية قلب التصميم من اليسار لليمن وبالعكس ماتزال موجودة ولم يتم ازالتها وستجدها بالقائمة التالية Layout > Reverse Layout

The issue you're describing is different to the topic on this post. Acrobat do fail messribly upon exporting a PDF when the content is in Arabic Langauge. It is been years since we brought this matter to Acrobat team's attention. You may vote on fixing this bug here.

One main factor of having the text to behave diffirent in a given document is that other text brought-in from another source ie. you copy text from the web or another file, then paste it into your document, thus brining in text settings from the other file. Did you consider that?

Marhaba Sarah, I'm sure that you have missed one step somewhere. I do suspect the following is affecting the process, when you remove/uninstall an application, the below dialogue window appears, just click the "Remove" button. This way you guarantee that new installation will be a fresh one.

In that case, you can use Acrobat to place comments in Arabic language, this commenting option has no issues with Arabic.

Just tested your suggestion. Whatever I typed on the PDF using Firefox, appeared as comments in the PDF later when opened in Acrobat. Although it is nice to see such suggestions, however, the original question was about the "Fill & Sign" feature which allows the user to fillup forms, insert text anywhere, and sign on the document, these shouldn't appear as comments. I appreciate if you can elaborate further on your suggestion if I missed something in your idea.

The Fill & Sign feature doesn't support Arabic well, even on desktop version. The workaround would be using "Edit Text" option - if you have Acrobat Pro/Standard.

Adobe has nothing to do with this issue. Where did you read that Adobe stopped supporting the ttf fons. I found the fonts you mentioned laying around in forums on the net, I don't recommend such fonts where it has no owner or designer which means it is pirated. Instead, designers should rely on fonts from a reputable vendor so they can provide support when Adobe change their type engine.

Adobe Express has a limited support for RTL languages as you noticed it yourself. Adobe relevant teams are aware about this issue, I'm not sure if any work is being made on it, or any fixes are coming any time soon. What I know is, users such as yourself, and I need to "nag" more often until this is fixed. I also know that a special language team team at Adobe have raised the flag internally for some time now, so let's hope that Express team would listen.

So Huda, you think the issue is mostly related to the font, more than it is related with InDesign? I tested the font shared up here by the original poster. The font developer most likely didn't test their font in Adobe InDesign. With regards to the web page you linked to "Surah Rahman". Do you have anything to do with it, I have someone who's uisng InDesign with a special project related to the Holey Qur'an and I wish if that person can hook up with someone who knows better than I do when it comes to Mus-haf design.

I just checked the proess just now to be sure Adobe haven't changed anything, so, I was able to change the Language from Preferences, then downloaded another copy of an older Illustrator… apparently nothing changed, it should work for you too if you follow above six steps… I use a Mac.
