I want to create a 3D model of the attached image, a steampunk kind of computer monitor, but the Mesh Presets limit me to only 11 shapes, which don't apply to the model I am trying to create. It would be great if PS could allow me to create custom 3D objects. Is there a plug in to expand the Mesh Preset shapes?

I upgraded to Photoshop 2020 but it does not allow me to change existing font colors. Should I back to a prevous version or use Illustrator to create fonts and import them into my PS project?

Hi, I tried the trail version of Mocha Pro - a total distaster. After exitng Mocha, it froze AE so I had to shut down my computer to escape. The same happened on the following try. I'm using a Windows 10 machine which appearently Mocha Pro is not well suited for. I may revisit it when it matures as a product for Windows OS. In the meantime, I using Blender for rotoscoping. It seems to work well. Thanks.

I don't see any matt / mask export controls in Mocha AE plus the X-Spline easily breaks apart while adjusting. Mocha doesn't have a reliable process. Very shakey program. Yes, Mocha AE workflow is clunky, there is no automatic tracking (it can't even track simple vector objects), so manual key frame tracking is required, and it is unable to create or recognize masks. All of this give me to pause to use Mocha Pro, which I fear may be equally sucky,. Does Pro address these short comings? Or should I move on to a more pro environment like Fusion?

I don't see the value of Mocha Pro bcause there is no tracking automation. I still have track each keyframe, frame by frame. Silouette is too pricey for me and I'm not sure if it can track any better than manually doing frame by frame. Nuke is the only too that can rotoscope but I can't afford it.

Thanks, Roland I downloaded a trail verson of Mocha Pro Adobe but it keeps crashing AE when I try to use it. I have Windows machine, i9 CPU with 32GB RAM and a Nvidea GeForce 2080 Super GPU, which I thought would be enough to run Mocha Pro. I can upgrade my RAM to 64GB but what you do suggest for a GPU upgrade? Thanks.

I did check the versions. When I create a dynamic link to AE, it creates a Comp but no media is imported. I also cannot edit the lenght of a clip in AE 2020. I'm going back to AE 2019 until Adobe works out these huge bugs.

Creating a dynamic link in Premiere Pro 2020 to AfterEffects no longer imports the media into AE. Is there a work around for this, or should I go back to Pp 2019?

Thanks for the info but the idea of exporting to a PDF everytime I want to verify navigation is not appealing. Too many hoops to jump through. I was hoping navigation can tested in preview mode. Maybe someday, Adone will add this feature. I can use MS Word and Adobe Acrobat to create interactive PDF's so, I really don't see why anyone would use Indesign to do so. Indesign is really suited for static layouts and documents, not for interactive. I appreciate the help.

Thanks for the reference. I've coded websites from the ground up using Dreamweaver so, I understand hyperlinks. What I didn't know is that Indesign does not allow page navigation in a document. The app only allows you to create page link in the first or home page but new page links in subsequent pages are not functional. I reported this bug, which is a huge one that Adobe should have caught. I'm hoping they add page to page navigation soon. DC

I use Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Aftereffects, Dreamweaver. Those products work. Indesign does not have interactivity. It does not work in this regard. Adobe should not advertise features that do not work and stay in the lane of thier proven digital media products. Indesign can create static pages but not interactive ones. The latter "feature" is obviously in beta mode, I stand by my words.

I was hoping I could share in interactive presentation with Indesign. The shortcoming of Indesign is that it won't properly naviate to internal pages. This is because it does not know page 3 from page 10, etc. In other words, it's guess work assinging a page to via hyperlink - trial an error. The solution, I suppose, is uploading all the pages externally to a folder /file structure and connect them externally - it that is even possible with Indesign. That said, I may as well build a website. Appearently, InDesgn is a beta product. Maybe someday it will work as advertised. DC

That's what I thought. You can only paint a 3D object in Photoshop. Being that as it may, Adobe should take down this link that says otherwise. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/creating-3d-objects-animations-photoshop.html I wish Adobe would stop adding features that is cleary is vaporware.

Hello Ali, yes, Photoshop can create a video from a 2D in it's timeline but it it is not possible to animate a 3D object in the timeline and export it as a 3D file. The problem is once you convert a 3D layer to a Smart Object, it turns it into a 2D object. It would be a great feature to be able to animate the 3D camera and other 3D controls via keyframes, and export the timeline as a sequence. I guess this is a feature request as it would be very helpful to export a 3D animation directly from Photoshop.

I found a workaround. I'm using the rectangle tool and then modifying with Transform Path to skew object. I'm about ready to upgrade to PS 2020 so, I'll see if that fixes this 2019 version bug.

I created a 3D model in Photoshop that I would like to animate. To do so now, I have to meticulously change each image, export as a PNG and then tweak and export more images. Once I have enough images, I import them into Premiere Pro to create a video sequence. Is there a plug for Photoshop to animate and render out to a video sequence? Or is this brute force workflow the ony way to create a sequence. By the way, I did try using the timeline in Photoshop but it has a major bug. You have convert a 3D image into Smart Object to use the timeline, but when you do, all the 3D infomation is lost.It tuns into a 2D object. I am hoping someday that Adobe will actually understand how and what 3D imagery is. Thanks. DC

Thanks, but I created plenty of masks using this workflow in previous versions of PP. It's obvious that PP 2019 has a bug in this regard. I'm assuing the PP 2020 has fixed this bug but it doesn't run well on my system, which forces me to go back to PP 2018. I guess I can rebuild via EDL but I should'nt have to do this. Or I use I Aftereffects.
