'....I was on a free trial which out of nowhere...'   Not out of nowhere, when you click Free trial the next page selects which plan you will go onto after 7 days. Adobe make it very clear which are annual plans and when charges will start. You have to pick one to get to the next step. This is Photoshop - the highlighting is mine - only one of the plans (the most expensive) can be cancelled at any time.
