Because of this, the tiny inception AE inside of Premiere Pro that makes Mogrts possible, totally bails on the process. I know right! I'm so relieved that we finally cracked that mystery!  Hopefully we'll get a fix in the works soon. But in the meantime, yes setting the Motion Graphics Templates Media Scratch Disk folder (in the project settings) to a folder that is closer to the root is clutch. Basically, if the folder file path name has more than 260 characters, Windows Explorer will block the creation of the folders where the project stores related aegraphics. Those have to exist for Premiere to be able to use the Mogrt.  Hopefully users will be able to remove that limitation easily though in the meantime (if they need to have a really complex folder structure).  ... Hi Will, Keyframed properties lose their keyframes on export to Mogrt land because then the control would be a dud on the PR end. If you have a opacity parameter keyframed from 50-100, changing the value in PR to 10 would be meaningless since its value is changing over time. Same for an expression controlled value. If I have I pickwhip the scale parameter to get its values from the Opacity, I can't change the hot text value of the scale in AE. Its being overridden by the expression-driven values from the Opacity layer. There is a way to add controls to each keyframe via expressions though! So you can make an Expression Control for Keyframe 1 of the opacity which in our example above is set to 50, and then add an Expression Control to Keyframe 2 which corresponds to 100. Then when you get to PR, you can adjust both values independently. Its a tricky workaround but I can share a JSX file that has the expressions laid out to also preserve easing and curves if you want to message me directly. ... View more

Hi! So I'm not 100% sure but I think we are starting to narrow the issue down a bit. It looks like there are issues with using Mogrts from an Auto-Saved file which it looks like you're using from your screenshot. If this auto-save version situation is the smoking gun, then what I thhiiiiiiink might be happening is the following: When a Mogrt is applied to a sequence, it gets unpacked in a temp folder deeeeep in the deeeeps of OS libraries. When a user closes the project or shuts down PR, then these temp folders get deleted or cleaned up. I think if a user's project crashed and they are opening from an auto-saved version then there is a stale version of the unpacked Mogrt left in the temp folder and then it throws the corrupt error. I still need to investigate this further but for the time being, can you A: try to apply the same Mogrt from a new Project? B. Try moving the auto-saved project out of the auto-save folder and putting it on your desktop or another folder and then trying to use the Mogrt? Thanks for your patience with this, Dacia ... In the second image that you are sharing, it looks like you've got a native Graphic Track item in the timeline (i.e. made in PR). I can tell from the UI in the Essential Graphics Panel. If you want to create Text within PR you need to select the Type tool and Type into the Program Monitor directly. But that is a different workflow than using a Motion Graphic Template created in AE and a different issue than the one you first posted about your Motion Graphics Template being Corrupt. Can you please send me the Corrupted Motion Graphics Template that you are having issues with? Also can you tell me which operating system you're on on Windows or Mac? Hi Richard, Thanks for sending these files along. So far they are working as expected for me, which is a good sign that the Mogrt itself isn't corrupted but not very helpful for getting to the bottom of your issues. If you go into the Project Settings > Scratch Disks, do you have your Motion Graphics Template Media folder set up to target a folder or the root level of the drive? Sometimes if that scratch disk is set to the root level, it can cause issues. It might be helpful to verify that your permissions for this folder are set to read/write. Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing PR and AE? So using Cmd + T to pull up the Type tool is creating a native PR Graphic (you'll notice a new track item in your sequence). In order to edit a Mogrt you've pulled into a sequence, you've got to select it on the timeline which will switch your view from the Browser to Edit tab in the Essential Graphics Panel. If it is a Mogrt that was made in AE natively, you will see a text edit box where you can customize your text, as well as any other controls the Mogrt author has exposed. We're actively investigating this issue and I will update these channels as soon as we have more information. Hey Tristan, We're kind of a giant organization so I'm not sure who your client is working with or who might have those Mogrts, but if you could send me your bad files, I would be able to better diagnose the issue. I'm personally worried that the issue is larger than what we already know. Your project files would be invaluable to better understand the issue.  Can you also tell me what Operating system you are on and what versions of PR and AE you are using? P.S. What do you mean by fix the Cinema 4D render thing? Here is the deal with rendering AE Mogrts in PR. There is a Tiny (and therefore limited) After Effects inside of PR. This allows users to use AE Mogrts in PR without needing to have AE installed. but! unfortunately the Tiny Inception AE can't do everything AE can do. There are effects that it does not render and there are things that it does not support (like Cinema 4D Lite). In those cases, the full version of AE is required and needs to be installed by the user and those Mogrts are rendered via Dynamic Link. This uses the same mechanisms that are used when a user imports and renders an AE Comp in PR or using the "convert to AE Comp" function. So using anything that is outside of Tiny Inception AE's abilities, needs Dynamic Link. Most of the effects can be rendered via Tiny Inception AE-- CC Particles definitely didn't make the cut and needs DL, as does Paint and any of the C4D functions. I think that what you're experiencing might be the same bugs we are currently investigating at their root, but I'd love to get a copy of your Mogrts to test just in case. Would you mind sending me a few of your files via We transfer link or Direct Message here? Can you also tell me what versions of PR and AE you're running as well as your Operating System? In the meantime, here are some workarounds that might get you back on track (if you're issues are similar to what we are investigating)" What *is* working? - .tsv driven Mogrts exported from 16.0 are working as expected. - .tsv driven Mogrts created in 16.1 and 16.1.1 will work if the .aep was created in Mac 10.14 - .csv driven Mogrts are working from all the latest releases and on all supported OSs (Mac & Win) What is *not* working? - .tsv driven Mogrts exported out of 16.1 and 16.1.1 created on Mac 10.13.6 or Win 10 Known work arounds? - Export all tsv driven Mogrts from 16.0 - If using 16.1 or 16.1.1 on Mac, update to the latest Mac OS and create fresh project. - Force AE Mogrt to be rendered via Dynamic Link, which can be done by adding a hidden paint stroke or changing the renderer from Classic 3D to Cinema 4D in the Comp Settings. (Make sure and click "Warn me if After Effects needs to be installed in order to customize the Motion Graphics template"). Is the Creative Cloud app connected to the Internet? Have you set-up a payment option for stock assets in your Creative Cloud account? I believe this is a requirement for in-App licensing (even for the free templates). Have you tried downloading it to your computer via the stock website and manually installing in PR as Neil mentioned?
