For a three-month period before our new forums were launched, we encouraged users to go through an account migration process to associate their former User to User forum IDs with their Adobe ID. Accounts with the parentheses are from those users who had conten

I forgot that threads are extremely short lived in this forum, and the discussion that really began within an unrelated thread, here Pierre Courtejoie, "Shouldn't these links be removed as soon as possible?" #8, 27 Feb 2005 1:21 pm has already gone to the Archives, where it is in danger of going to the limbus in the near future. I still think that this is an important issue, and still wait to see any improvement in those forums showing that the messages by Pierre and myself on the subject have not fallen in a void. Although we both value and thank Neil Keller for his attempts to get some reaction in higher quarters, his attempts have unfortunately been a failure. It is pathetic to see pages in the forums in Spanish with templates that are written in a mixture of English and a very bad Spanish. It is even more pathetic that JC stopped more than a year ago feeling authorized to introduce any non trivial change to improve this situation. The worst part is however to feel that there i
Help! It looks like everyone can see my full name. The default setting in our forums is that you are able to see your full name, but your fellow forum users can only see your screen name. However, this causes some confusion as it appears that others can see your full name. Don't worry- they cannot! [Note: Employee Admins are an exception to this and can see your name]. To confirm this: Click on your profile picture (avatar) at the top right Edit Communities Profile Privacy Confirm that your Name is only visible to "Yourself" You can also sign out and type in your profile URL to see that you're only able to view your screen name. How do I edit or delete something I posted here? To delete a new topic, click Delete in the Actions panel to the right of the message. Is there a thread anywhere that contains usability tweaks for the new forum UI?I've seen this Stylish flex-width tweak http://forums.adobe.com/thread/414809#1870916and Ramón has mentioned liberal use of AdBlock Plus to remove clutter and whitespace. Is there anything else that would help?
We wanted to add some extra information to the "Be Safe" section of our Community Guidelines for your consideration: Do not share your own or others’ personal information (like full name, home address, phone number, email address, government-issued IDs, or anything else that would let someone locate or contact you in the real world). Beware of users purporting to be Adobe employees who are requesting your personal information or trying to gain access to your computer. Never share your serial number with anyone. Please use the report button if you detect anything suspicious. Here are 3 easy ways you can identify Adobe Employees: All Adobe employees have the Adobe Employee role and the red Adobe logo under their avatar. This is visible on profile pages -logo does not appear on profile-, original posts, and replies. Genuine Adobe emails always end in @adobe.com Adobe employees will ne
Slow as molasses today... Posting is even slower than a snail. Was looking for an earlier thread but was sooo slow to find that i just started a new one... sorry about that.
Still getting this sometimes when clicking the time of the last post. I think JC said he thought he knew what the problem might be?

Just in case anyone from Adobe thinks these forums are getting better, are more accepted now that all the knowledgeable regulars have been driven off and the community that existed has been destroyed. This Forum still sucks, its slow ugly and a huge space waster. The dialog in the forums has turned into a bunch of lazy people who can't be bothered to read the manual. All discussion about anything technical or advanced just doesn't exist. thanks Adobe.
OK, here goes. For a long time there has been little or no evidence of any hosts, moderators or Adobe employees in here. John C and kanguyen make very welcome appearances from time to time, and both show an immaculate attitude, but little happens to improve things - although thanks to those who made a proper sticky about the use of this forum. We have been relieved of a host who was allegedly a Community Expert in 'Creative Suite', but had apparently fulfilled none of the criteria for a Community Expert - such as being an expert in something. Nor did this person have more than a very wobbly grasp of how the forums actually work. With zero credibility, said person annoyed people by moralising and lecturing at them.So now we have a pretty bolshy group of people who are sitting about, kicking their heels, hoping against hope that someone will sort out this buggy, defective software. Many have made very detailed, constructive suggestions and requests, others have gone to the trouble of makin
We've had some changes made for session timeouts. Are people still having to constantly log-in throughout the day? Today I've managed to stay logged in without any forum activity for up to 3 hours or slightly longer. Has it improved for others? The login session should now be about 4 hours. It was supposed to be two hours previously, but for some accounts it might have been shorter.John
I have had an Adobe online account for some time (a couple of years). I logged in today to download some brushes and then got an email about 1 minute later saying:"Dear [my name], You recently created an AdobeID. Your AdobeID is [my email] To confirm your email address, please click this link: https://adobeid-na1.services.adobe.com/renga-idprovider/pages/evp?email=[my email] &client_id=exchange1&locale=en&key=KZDY81Z80ZKV3120RVVDEBRSTC Please note: If you cannot access this link, copy and paste the entire URL into your browser. The Adobe Team Copyright 2011 Adobe Systems Incorporated. All rights reserved. 345 Park Avenue, San Jose, CA 95110 USA"Name and email removed with square brackets surrounding what I've deleted.Since I created my address years ago why would I be sent this email now? And clearly since I am logged in posting this, I don't need to varify anything. Has someone/something hacked Adobe servers? Of is this just an error on Adobe's part? Thanks.
The first thread on this matter seems to have been deleted, presumeably by Mr. van DietenIt is my assertion that Jochem van Dieten has abused his moderator's priveledges by innappropriately deleting threads and posts with which he does not agree. He has been rude not only to some of the more 'curmudgeonly' forum members, but also to those whom are not troublesome (Claudio, 'GreenJumpyOne' are two that spring to mind). He has been arbitrary-seeming in many of his decisions as moderator; he has shown himself hostile, uncooperative and on occasion childish. He has not, seemingly, been held to account for his reprehensible, unprofessional conduct, and is (IMO) a disgrace to Adobe Corp. He has no 'people skills' and is thus an exceptionally bad choice for the position of moderator. If you agree, please say so. If possible, give some examples of Mr. van Dieten's behaviour which illustrate my assertions above.I am posting this partly to give people who wish to have a venue to complain about ce
