Using the Community

Signatures in this community platform suck.   I went into my account settings and (just) noticed a field for SIGNATURES.  Cool, I thought.   I should have known better.   Originally, I entered:   V/r, ^ _ ^ "There's no kill switch on awesome." -Dilbert   That appeared like "V/r, ^ _ ^ "There's no kill switch on awesome." -Dilbert"   Then I tried:   V/r,<br /><br />^ _ ^<br /><br />"There's no kill switch on awesome." -Dilbert   That didn't work either.  Showed up like: V/r, ^ _ ^   And that's it.   And every time I would go in to edit it, the following is what text was actually in the field:   <br>"There's no kill switch on awesome." -Dilbert>V/r, ^ _ ^<br><br>"There's no kill switch on awesome." -Dilbert   I have no idea what is going on, here.  Apparently neither does Adobe, nor the devs who created this laughingstock of a platform.   I have since removed ev

I've looked at the existing discussions and I couldn't see a real solution to this question.Not sure how I ended up with 'editing pdf files' as my screen name, but I clearly goofed there.How can I edit my screen name?

I just tried for 15 minutes to include an image, both from a  "helpx.adobe.com" link and by downloading/uploading via the image dialog (button indicated below, you know the one). Neither worked, but when I just pasted the link into the post, it rendered just fine. 🤦‍♂ It would render in the dialog, then just insert a blank line in the post, or render in the preview and then the final post would be sans-image.On Edge (&#x1f605) Version 80.0.361.66 (Official build) (64-bit), so the new Chromium based one. This was the post.

Hi,  I can't seem to change my email notification settings from "Immediately" to either "Daily" or "Weekly" since any changes that I save get reset when I refresh the page. I was wondering if anyone else has seen the same thing!   

Adobe, it would be easier to use if there was a "Post to community" link always available (e.g., from a thread). TIA!

Hi Adobe.I'd like to change my display name but it seems to be locked out in the options.  I see this as a privacy issue.If you cannot change the screen name could you please completely remove my forum account please?n

Searching the Lightroom Classic forum for "opengl" returns a results page saying there are 768 results, but only 6 are displayed (sorting by Date) or 9 displayed (sorting by Relevance). There's no option to see the next page of results. TSIA.. what the heck is going on, NOW???   I'm still not sure how I managed to actually log on to the forums, because for the last five minutes every time I enter my email in the username field, when I hit enter I get the message "Personal accounts are no longer supported."   I HATE THIS PLATFORM!   ^ _ ^

Hi all,   Here's what we released today on March 5th, 2020: New   Emails We've modernized the email for when users earn a new badge. Bugs Fixed   Localized Strings We fixed bugs that showed the incorrect translations for "answers" in Spanish, "Unresolved" in French, and "Sort" in Japanese. We also fixed a bug where the localized string for "Announcement" was truncated.   Reading Posts We fixed a bug where if you use a direct link to a specific reply on a conversation page, you will land on the reply body rather than the avatar and screen name of the user who authored the reply. We also corrected various spacing issues on the Resources component and all throughout community board pages.   Roles We corrected the role name of "Most Valued Participant" to be "Most Valuable Participant".   Thanks, Melissa

Why Oh Why is the banner, and why oh why is there a banner at all, for placing a link to the community guidelines on every reply page. Here is a screen shot of it with a full screen browser page and one with the browser as a Window.    With my browser as a window that banner takes up even more space.     Don't you think that is a BIT OVERKILL????? Especially since IMHO No one ever Clicks On it.

The thread at https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/example-of-extendscript-palette-and-colored-buttons-revised/m-p/10957856?page=1#M311269  has been marked as SPAM for some reason.   It is a thread with example ExtendScript software and nothing else.  I did change the title by adding the word revised as I revised the code to match suggestions from those who answered the original post. How do I get this fixed?RONC

Am I the only one, that can't reply to a post anymore? I tried it on a Mac and a Windows machine with different and latest browsers (Firefox, etc.).

I have made a few posts over the past 2 to 3 weeks...  Why are they not allowed to be posted?

I've been trying to update my notification settings on my account for the Adobe Support Community so that I only receive daily emails. I select that option, hit "Save", and I get a green callout box that says "Your changes have been saved". However, when I got back into my settings, it reverts back to having immediate email notifications.  Any suggestions on what I should do?

I did some changes in the "account settings"->"edit on adobe account"->"profile/change" and nothing happened to my forum profiles.Please help

I have 2 questions that annoy me a little bit: 1 - Every time I create a new post here, I get emails from people who reply, but I also get when I reply to someone else. I don't really want to receive emails with my own replies. Any chance that I can fix this? 2 - Every time I come to the community, it logs in. It feels as if it doesn't save my status as being online. As soon as I leave the community it assumes that I've logged out. It automatically starts logging in, but I don't get why it assumes I'm logged out. Thanks

I keep seeing these threads going back 6+ years about bugs (features?) with maybe 50 "Yeah, it happened to me too" replies. Maybe a mod posts a link to a UV bug report...eventually, but nobody follows it because, they assume, a community post for support does the same thing. Maybe the mod even explains this, but nobody upvotes the report anyway. There must be a solution to this conundrum beyond lengthy explanations about how "The devs read the UV, but not the community...". I suggest putting a UV icon in the app itself, like Microsoft does with FeedbackHub. That seems to be working well for them anyway. And no, I will not submit this to UserVoice. I've been down that road too many times to come back 2 years later and find one additional upvote. Thoughts? Feels? Frustrations? Suggestions?

Hi, I have used Adobes forums for years as well as a customer of its products for decades. I recently posted a question on the Adobe Animate forum and it was marked as spam and deleted?!  I tried to repost and it did the same thing. Please help. Thanks,Jason   

Well, I kind of felt like I shouldn't post this as all... but it annoys me every time I see the red dot for a notification and it isn't an update. It's Adobe trying to sell me something like upgrading to Teams or telling me about some contest. The sneaky advertisements are just enough of a distraction sometimes and there isn't a way to turn off marketing notifications. I know it sounds petty but please give us an opt-in/out. Thanks. 

Dear support, I created an email account, but made a mistake. Indicated a nonexistent email, and now I can not change it, because it requires confirmation. Could you change it? The account on which you need to do this - change [personally identifying information removed]. Thanks!
