Acrobat Reader

I use Adobe Printer as my default PDF printer, but as soon as I print a document the Adobe Printer’s default paper size settings revert back to “letter” in stead of staying on A4 after it was saved. 

How do I fix “grayed out” combine files option in Adobe Acrobat Pro?This just happened - I need to combine PDF files today or tomorrow!!

When I attempt to login to Adobe to access my stored signature and initials (and other features) I can successfully navigate the login prompt in a browser, but when I return to the app it is in a frozen state. The only feedback is the error ping with every mouse click. Please assist.

Hi, We use Windows OS and Adobe Reader as our main PDF reader at our company. Since there are various attack vectors and vulnerabilities in Reader, Adobe provides a reference guide with most of the options that can be enabled or disable to mitigate this.[0] The ADMX template[1], that can be installed int the component store has not been updated since 2015!!! There is no easy way to add or update the ADMX template, because the Preference Reference list[0] is ONLY a vieweable HTML page. Why Adobe does not provide an updated ADMX template with all of the lastest updates or changes ? And even the preference reference list does not contain, for example, registry key on how to DISABLE or ENABLE so called "Generative AI". [2] The registry key "bEnableGentech" is not even mentioned in the [0] preference list. I am aware that there are 3rd party solutions, such as, NIST template[3] or Powershell ADMX generator[4] but this does not solve the main issue. I need to create a court disclosure document for a case - a Disclosure is meant to be every piece of communication and documents sent back and forth within a legal case. I have tried to combine all of my documents to make 1 PDF for the Disclosure. However, a few of the documents said they were Secure Documents and Password protected. They aren't password protected to view the documents in the sense that you cannot view them. You can open them, you just can't edit them. These documents will not merge into the overall Combined document to create 1 PDF disclosure which is very frustrating. Does Adobe Acrobat have a function that will allow me to add these secure documents into my Combined PDF disclosure? It's legally necessary and I cannot work around it. If Adobe doesn't have this, it would be really helpful if they would create functionality to allow a person to add any document to the disclosure whilst still maintaining their security.... But it's been a while when try to do this I get this Error: Before you can perform print-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer. I have already uninstalled and reinstall the application but still it doesn't work.    

Hello everyone,, It's considered the premiere pdf software, but it has trouble just opening files, let alone more than one. Scrolling leads to system hangs. The program crashes periodically even when you're not really doing much that stresses it [Spam link removed by moderator.] Is the issue a simple bit of code that IT pros are familiar with, or is it just buggy for no good reason???

I need to sign a PDF document for work, but I am not sure how to add my signature using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Is there an easy way to create and add a digital signature without printing the document first? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, My organization has a use case where we need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat Standard installed simultaneously for certain users. It looks like as of Reader/Acrobat 26.001.21651, the Print dialog in Reader does not display the list of software printers correctly. For example, the Microsoft Print to PDF option prints to a different printer when selected, and shows that other printer’s properties when Properties is clicked. This is the case for all software printers in the list. Physical printers on our print server appear to be unaffected. I did a capture with ProcMon, and it looks like what is happening is Reader is enumerating all of the printers the user has available, but does not list the Adobe PDF Converter that is installed along with Acrobat (it shows up as “Adobe PDF” in the Windows registry and the Procmon log). However, I think although when it filters the name of this printer, it isn’t removing its properties, so those properties ‘roll over’ to the next

PDFs keep automatically opening after I download them. I changed settings in Chrome already. But when I tried to unclick the "Open PDFs automatically in Reader when they are downloaded in Chrome browser" in Adobe, it will not save!! I'm at a loss for what to do. I've uninstalled Adobe and reinstalled it already. 

I used to be able to save a Word file, then save an excel file and they both save as 75% and look the same size.  Now if I save them both, the excel file shows it’s saving as 75% but it’s bigger in the pdf.  Also, I used to be able to save the excel file to pdf, then I could edit the pdf and choose the whole table, copy and paste into another pdf and would look perfect.  Now Adobe slowly inserts all the texts boxes and they are all misaligned and I will lose some text.  I’ve tried just taking a snapshot and pasting but that comes out a little blurry.  

I cannot create a PDF from scanner. I think it may be related to the latest MAC OS upgrade to 26.5.1 I get the first screen where I can select a scanner. I have a Brother and an HP scanner. Selecting either one gives the same result. When I click the Scan button a new window is opened but it is grayed out. It is blank except the Hide Detail, Overview and Scan (all grayed out)

I am only using Adobe Reader and this problem just surfaced recently (I assume it has to do with a recent update). I can open the pdf files with MS Edge OK (which I don’t want to use). The error says “something went wrong” then it says “A running instance of Acrobat has caused an error”  when I try to open the pdf with Adobe Reader like I always have. It is on a WIN10 desktop.  Ron

This has been bugging me for ages and I haven't ever found a fix.Why is it that when I open an existing PDF, edit that PDF, and then click save, it ALWAYS asks me where to save it? I just want to override the previous file. 99.999999% of all products I use where I open an existing document, then click save, it automatically saves it to the same location I previously had the document saved to, and it doesn't require me to go in and select where I want to save it.It makes no sense to me and drives me insane that when I make one small adjustment, I can't just click save and be done with it.

We have a business form that is generated in SAP, and this form has worked as expected until recently. The form was developed in-house and has not been modified since 2024. Multi-line is set in both text fields, but the bottom-most text field no longer wraps text. We believe this may have resulted when our Adobe Reader app was patched. The odd thing is that opening the PDF in either Edge or Chrome and editing it there *does* work properly, but does not work in Adobe Reader version 2026.001.2691 (64bit). Even more peculiar, we have a colleague with Adobe Reader version 2026.001.21662 (64bit) and the word wrap behaves as expected. 

I've seen this come up a few times on a google search. Literally opening a single pdf and have to wait 10-15 seconds of Not Responding before I can do anything.Running windows 11 64-bitI've tried running in administrator mode (which is annoying as you have to always press OK on the dialogue box before opening) and as others have pointed out, cannot run in compatibility mode as the options only go up to windows 8. Bizarrely, I had no problems until I upgrade to a paid version (so I could get signatures) and this is when I 1st started noticing the problem. Is this the reason? Or just coincidence

I want PDF files of my Gmail account to keep maintaining reports of court documents. I face challenges in making PDF every day in my Gmail account because Gmail does not allow me to make PDFs in batches, which becomes frustrating when I need to submit more than thousands of pdf file to the courtroom. So, is anyone know the easiest way to create schedule automatic email backups in PDF format? Please suggest!

I uploaded a PDF to Virustotal to make sure it had no malware. NO vendors flagged it as malicious. I'm unable to log in and print PDF files using account A, but other file formats print normally. However, other accounts can print PDF files on the same computer. Could you please tell me what settings in Adobe Reader are causing this? Thank you.(pdf file can not normally sent to printer in one account, but the ohter account in the same computer is normally)
