Acrobat Reader

Hello Community, I'm trying to open docs on my MAC. Unable to because I don't have Adobe 8 installed on my computer. Is there a free version available for download?? Everything I come accross requires payment. Please advise and thank you in advance. 

I am using the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, and I have a set of pdf files in a folder. I opened a file and then closed it. Then I opened another file. Now the previously closed file is opening automatically as a tab in the Acrobat Reader DC. Please let me know what to do?

Hello! I have an issue where I have a reoccurring error (noted in the subject line). I have gone through and double-double checked  all of the permissions for user access to the Temp folder and that isn't the problem. I reinstalled Adobe Acrobat and am still getting the error. I have a feeling that it has something to do with the pathway for which temp files are being stored, but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before I start messing with my Temp folders.  Thanks in advance!

I have recieved a standard form to fill in and sign digitally and I am trying to do it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. All fields can be filled in and I can check all necessary boxes, but when I get to the bottom of the document I can not sign it. The small sign button is grey and unaccessable (i.e. it doesn't do anything when i click on it). If I check the document properties they say that I have permission to sign. I have looked through previous posts and tried some things, but to no succes. If anyone could give any suggestions on fixes or just where to look I would be very grateful.

It also allows the app to read basic company information of signed-in users. Read user mail- Allows the app to read the signed-in user's mailbox. Maintain access to data you have given it access to- Allow the app to see and update the data you gave it access to, even when users are not currently using the app. This does not give the app any additional permissions. Is this accurate?  If so, why does the application require access to read a user's mailbox?  What information does it collect from the user's

In the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC v2020.009.20065 (Windows), we are unable to add any dictionaries for spell check. There are no language dictionaries are found under Add Dictionaries dialog.Despite installing the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Spelling Dictionary Pack (Continuous) - For Acrobat Reader DC version 19.x, we don't see any dictionaries available.There is Spelling Dictionary Pack for 20.x versions available on the website. Many users are reporting this issue.This is affecting our document reviews and request you to help resolve this at the earliest. Thanks! Edit: Same version seems to be working on Windows 10 v1903. However, does not seem to work on later versions.

How do I save an  online PDF to my computer files so I can read them offline?

I am unable to open a pdf file with Adobe Reader DC. I receive a message offering a 7 day free trial for either of two programs, one costs $12.95 monthly and the other $14.95. What happened to the free service I used for years?

According to the PDF 2.0 specification some features of PDF 1.x will be depreciated. A proper PDF 2.0 reader will not be able to read these depreciated features of PDF 1.x files (See Site of Library of Congress loc.gov). I wonder how the Adobe Acrobat PDF 2.0 Reader will handle files with depreciated features? Will the user be asked to switch to a PDF 1.x reader? We have tens of thousands of PDF 1.x files in our archives. Among the depreciated features are some common encryption methods of PDF 1.x files. Will there be a software to convert the PDF 1.x files with depreciated features such that the files can be read by PDF 2.0 readers?

Hello, I have a problem with Acrobat Reader DC displaying wierd characters on some PDFs but only under a regular user (non-admin user in Domain) on a PC. Admin user can see the PDF properly. Version - Latest Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - 2021.001.20140OS: Windows 10 ProAdditionals: I have installed the language pack for Adobe Reader 21 (Problem occured even before the installation)  Here is an example of the issue:When the same PDF is opened in Mozzila it displays more character but is still distorted. When open in Chrome, it displays everything properly, but when I run Adobe Reader as an Admin under the users account it is still distorted. When I log in as Admin on the same computer and open the PDF, it displays correctly. From other community posts here I have found that the issue may be missing fonts. Or the embeded fonts that are not recognized and Adobe Reader tries to replace them with something else. But why does it work under Admin and not under user? Are s

Is it possible to DELETE the ad that appears in the lower right corner of the screen.The ad takes up space on the screen as well as that it takes time to load and it changes the position of the icons on the screen.

I've started to see this black screen as soon as I click on the pdf sheet. This issue was posted earlier on but for some reason, I can't see the option, "Tell the troubleshooter to run this program in Windows 7 compatability mode". Can someone please help?

Trying to add my initials, not a signature. I don't have one saved so I need to add a set of initials, but whenever I do I just get a darkened screen that makes an error noise when I click. I can use ESC to close the screen but then nothing happens.Attaching a D&D Character sheet to show what I mean, Normal is before I click the button to add initials,Initials is the button I'm talking about, and Dark is what happens when I click it.

I am using adobe reader.  I would like to know how to clear the recent history under the "my computer" tab.   I am able to clear the regular recent history by accessing the preferences, but not the "my computer" recent history.  I am working on a public computer, and this is a problem.  I can go to edit, preferences, documents, and change the documents in recently used list from "100" days to "0" days and that removes history for the "recent files" folder/tab.  Howver, all those same files are still available/shown under the "my computer" tab/folder.  I contacted Adobe support regarding this issue and was told to use the "registry edit" and navigate to "hkey_current_user/software/adobe and delete the key related to the adobe reader. I did this.  It only removed one of the 2 files in which I needed removed.  The other file is still there.  Does anyone have a solution for this flaw in the software?  I was told to post my query on Ado

Whenever one of my users tries to open a PDF from Outlook, she gets an error that says something along the lines of  "AppContainer Incompatibility in Protected Mode". I would turn off Protected Mode, but when we turn it off, we get the "Acrobat could not load its core DLL". We cannot fix the core DLL error because that requires turning on Protected Mode, and we can't turn on Protected Mode because we get the AppContainer error. I have tried rebooting the computer and repairing the installation from the control panel.

Using version 2021.001.20155 on Windows 10, I have encountered several bugs:Scroll bars are never shown no matter what settings I use.Reader always launches with the toolbar hidden Things I've tried:Set Touch Mode to "Never" in Preferences > General (this is the standard fix for the scroll bars not showing, but doesn't work in my case)Set Touch Mode to various other settings (still no scroll bars)Toggle Read Mode & Full-Screen Mode (toggling Read Mode restores the toolbar, but the scroll bars are never visible)Repair installation (did not have any impact on these bugs)
