I cannot create a PDF from scanner. I think it may be related to the latest MAC OS upgrade to 26.5.1 I get the first screen where I can select a scanner. I have a Brother and an HP scanner. Selecting either one gives the same result. When I click the Scan button a new window is opened but it is grayed out. It is blank except the Hide Detail, Overview and Scan (all grayed out)
I am only using Adobe Reader and this problem just surfaced recently (I assume it has to do with a recent update). I can open the pdf files with MS Edge OK (which I don’t want to use). The error says “something went wrong” then it says “A running instance of Acrobat has caused an error” when I try to open the pdf with Adobe Reader like I always have. It is on a WIN10 desktop. Ron
@Anand Sri Bhattacharya Hello Adobe Security Team,We have identified that Adobe Acrobat/Reader version **26.001.21483* contains vulnerable OpenSSL libraries (libssl-3-x64.dll / libcrypto-3-x64.dll) affected by **CVE-2026-31790 / CVE-2026- 28390**.Our security scanners flag these as high-risk p1 vulnerability Could you please confirm if a patch is available for this specific build or provide the timeline for the next security update that includes the OpenSSL 3.x remediation?
This has been bugging me for ages and I haven't ever found a fix.Why is it that when I open an existing PDF, edit that PDF, and then click save, it ALWAYS asks me where to save it? I just want to override the previous file. 99.999999% of all products I use where I open an existing document, then click save, it automatically saves it to the same location I previously had the document saved to, and it doesn't require me to go in and select where I want to save it.It makes no sense to me and drives me insane that when I make one small adjustment, I can't just click save and be done with it.
We have a business form that is generated in SAP, and this form has worked as expected until recently. The form was developed in-house and has not been modified since 2024. Multi-line is set in both text fields, but the bottom-most text field no longer wraps text. We believe this may have resulted when our Adobe Reader app was patched. The odd thing is that opening the PDF in either Edge or Chrome and editing it there *does* work properly, but does not work in Adobe Reader version 2026.001.2691 (64bit). Even more peculiar, we have a colleague with Adobe Reader version 2026.001.21662 (64bit) and the word wrap behaves as expected.
I've seen this come up a few times on a google search. Attempted to delete and re-install a few times to no avail.I ran through the suggestions on this page:https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/adobe-acrobat-pro-not-responding-and-constanly-crashing-windows-11/m-p/13007623#M366676 but this did not resolve either. I'm not doing anything too demanding. Literally opening a single pdf and have to wait 10-15 seconds of Not Responding before I can do anything.Running windows 11 64-bitI've tried running in administrator mode (which is annoying as you have to always press OK on the dialogue box before opening) and as others have pointed out, cannot run in compatibility mode as the options only go up to windows 8. Bizarrely, I had no problems until I upgrade to a paid version (so I could get signatures) and this is when I 1st started noticing the problem. Is this the reason? Or just coincidence
I want PDF files of my Gmail account to keep maintaining reports of court documents. I face challenges in making PDF every day in my Gmail account because Gmail does not allow me to make PDFs in batches, which becomes frustrating when I need to submit more than thousands of pdf file to the courtroom. So, is anyone know the easiest way to create schedule automatic email backups in PDF format? Please suggest!
Dear community, can you please help me with the following issue?I use Windows 10 with two screens: one main screen and a second screen. I uploaded a PDF to Virustotal to make sure it had no malware. NO vendors flagged it as malicious. However, the PDF file contacted a certain URL that is flagged as malicious by 2/91 vendors: dunamis-ethos508-prod-va6-856defacfb833db1[.]elb[.]us-east-1[.]amazonaws[.]com The URL in question seems to be tied to two other domains that I believe are legitimate Adobe domains: cc-api-data[.]adobe[.]ioethos[.]dunamis[.]ethos508-prod-va6[.]ethos[.]adobe.net If you look at the SSL reports below, they all connect to the very same IP addresses.https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=cc-api-data.adobe.io https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=ethos.dunamis.ethos508-prod-va6.ethos.adobe.net https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=dunamis-ethos508-prod-va6-856defacfb833db1.elb.us-east-1.amazonaws.com Can anyone here please let me know whether this URL is legitimately used by Adobe services or not? I'm unable to log in and print PDF files using account A, but other file formats print normally. However, other accounts can print PDF files on the same computer. Could you please tell me what settings in Adobe Reader are causing this? Thank you.(pdf file can not normally sent to printer in one account, but the ohter account in the same computer is normally)
My Adobe needs to be updated. How do I do this? I can't find where to go to get the update! Getting frustrated 😠 😡
Has the text-box tool that used to be in the 'Fill & Sign' panel been removed? I haven't been able to find it since the update, it's very frustrating.I'm running the full version of Acrobat DC. I know I can go into the Edit Page tab and sometimes I'm able add text boxes, depending on how the document is formatted (but not always). But this is not what I'm wanting to do. How do I find the olod tool I was familiar with?

I'm using Acrobat Reader v. 2023.008.20421 on a Win10Pro machine, when choosing Menu, Save As.. it's showing me the recent files on my computers but when I choose the location I want, nothings happening unless I click on Choose a different folder. [This question was moved from the Acrobat Pro to the Reader forum.]
Greetings, I have an employee who is receiving fillable PDF forms for work via email. When opening file preview on the form within Outlook Desktop the form is displayed and the field data is in the fields designated. When opening the PDF with Reader or Acrobat Pro the forms field data is blank. Clicking on fields to highlight test does not reveal anything, and trying to insert a space and delete the space within the field nothing is revealed. When opening the file with MS Edge, all the forms field data is then viewable. I have another employee that was able to open the same form using their Acrobat XI and was able to view the field data as well. With opening the PDF's via Edge, we are able to print form to MS Print to PDF and upon doing so and opening with Reader or Acrobat Pro the form data is viewable. I have checked the versions of Reader and Acrobat Pro and both are up to date as well. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Hi all,I'm trying to understand a file I found on my own machine and can't account for.On my system there's C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ARM\OnDemand\Acrobat_SCA_Mini_Full\Extractor.exe. Its file properties identify it as Adobe's "7Z Extractor", part of the Acrobat Update Installer, file version 1.824.8.19, signed by Adobe Inc. The file on my machine is dated August 18, 2025 (both last modify and create date are the same, with the same exact time), which lines up with a planned Acrobat update from that date.I couldn't find much documentation about what this component actually is or when it runs, so I tried to reproduce how it got there. I set up a clean VM, installed an older Reader DC (25.001.20428, i.e. a version from before that August 18 date), and ran Help -> Check for Updates to let it update to the current version, watching the whole process with Process Monitor. The puzzling part is the update completed normally (I saw AdobeARM.exe, armsvc.exe and AdobeARMHelper.exe all run, finishin

My endpoint security scanner is alerting on a high-severity heap use-after-free vulnerability, CVE-2026-45447, stemming from the embedded OpenSSL cryptographic library (PKCS7_verify() function) inside Adobe Acrobat. Our endpoint currently has Adobe Acrobat Reader Continuous Release (Version 2026.001.21691, 64-bit) installed. According to Adobe Security Bulletin APSB26-63, this update timeline addresses critical flaws, but we require verification on whether this build completely resolves the specific OpenSSL flaw, or if an additional out-of-band update is required. Please provide the exact target patch version alongside any command-line parameters needed to safely push the update across our environment.
Whilel I am able to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, it will not install on my computer. Need a fix for this.
I have tried several times now to install an update to Acrobat (64-bit) on my Microsoft Surface Pro. The update keeps failing with the following error" error 1402.could not open key: hkey_local_machine32\software\microsoft\internet explorer\main\featurecontrol\feature_browser_emulation This is odd for a couple of reasons:1) Internet Explorer is no longer installed on the tablet.2) When I look in REGEDIT, there is a "hkey_local_machine", but not "hkey_local_machine32".
Problem Description: I'm in "Single Page View," have "Enable Scrolling" unchecked in the View menu, but scrolling with the mousepad still jumps to the next page, unlike keyboard navigation. Steps to Reproduce:Open any PDF.Go to View > Page Display > Single Page View.Go to View > Page Display and ensure Enable Scrolling is UNCHECKED.Attempt to scroll down with the mousepad.Observe that it scrolls to the next page instead of remaining on the current page.Adobe Acrobat Version: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC | Continuous release | Version 2025.001.20467 | 64-bit.Also the "Use mouse wheel to scroll: Single page at a time" preference is no longer present in Edit > Preferences > Page Display in this version.
OnBase version 24.1.11 uses Adobe Acrobat Reader to display PDF documents. We noticed older PDF versions displayed in OnBase zooms to 170% and staff has to zoom out every time. We’ve tried changing the scaling option under General in adobe acrobat reader and setting the zoom option to fit to page or 100% under the Page Display but it doesn’t seem to work for these older PDF documents in OnBase. Is there any other way to default 100% or fit to page for all PDF documents in OnBase.
I have a few users experiencing issues with acrobat and pro. Where if I have a pdf open that is saved to the c drive. I then attempt to open a pdf from outlook it does not open a second tab with that pdf nor does it open a window with that pdf. The only thing I can see is when I have task manager open there is a instance of acrobat opening in the background processes, but no window gets created for me to see. The strange part is if I have acrobat closed then open a pdf from outlook first. I can then open any number of pdf correctly from any drive or from outlook. It only happens when the user opens a pdf from their c drive first. This issue has persisted through reinstalls of acrobat on multiple different devices. Let me know if I can provide any more information about this issue. The devices are all win 11 most recent updates installed. Most recent version of acrobat/ pro depending on the user. This is also happening on my work device although Idon't use acrobat that much

This "Ask AI Assistant" box has started popping up at the bottom of the window when viewing a PDF. It has an option to "hide for this session" but how do I turn off permanently? It's just another annoying dialog box filling up my viewing screen
